Will I lose weight if I take a laxative a couple times a week?
Not for weight loss purposes but like a cleanse basically… I know they have bowel cleansers, but I want to change my diet to be healthier and I want to get rid of all the junk I have in me right now…

No. You might, because you may end up with diarrhea…but I wouldn’t suggest it.
I am a CNA and I take care of a woman who abused laxatives in order to lose weight…now she has to manually extract her feces because her bowels no longer work properly. It is pretty sad actually. Not saying that you would abuse them, but I really don’t think anyone should take them other than those with constipation issues.
Unless you are severely constipated, laxatives do nothing to "clean you out" except give you some false peace of mind. Contrary to popular belief you don’t build up "junk" inside your gastrointestinal tract.
All laxatives and "bowel cleansers" do is induce diarrhea, which leaves you with mud butt, dehydrates you, and promotes electrolyte imbalance. If you want to make changes to a healthier diet, this is NOT the way to start.
