Where is the transverse colon located? Is it above or below the navel area and what would cause that area to?

The transverse colon is indeed generally located well above the navel but so is the duodenum. I strongly suggest you follow the advice of those who urge you to seek medical care. If this is due to a bowel obstruction, that’s nothing to play around with or ignore. Even a less serious impaction can become serious if left untreated.
Its right below the stomach but the thin BM could be a result of some kind of blockage. You need to get checked out by a doctor soon. That can cause some serious problems up to and including death.
Transverse colon is usually above the navel but it varies in people and varies in time. You could have an obstruction which can be serious. Why do you think it is the transverse colon? The tiny thin bowel movements is of concern if it has been going on for a while. If it has and you still have that crampy pain, I’d suggest you go to the doctor and get it checked out. Not the ER unless the pain gets too bad or you start vomitting. When you call to make an appointment, tell them you think you may have an obstruction and need to get in soon. That should help you get an appointment sooner. It may also turn out to be nothing but check it out. Look for any mucus or blood also so you can tell the doctor. I wouldn’t suggest a laxative until the doctor says so. By the way, it could also be in your small bowel which loops all around.
See the link below for some information…
The transverse colon is the middle section of the large intestine, and is located just slightly above the waistline. The ascending colon comes up along the right side, from the hip bone up, the transverse goes across the body from right to left, the descending colon goes downwards on the left to the exit. The appendix is located near the region you complain of, and an irritable appendix can often refer a dull crampy feeling to the area around the navel. The appendix itself would be located on a diagonal line, about half way between the navel and the hip socket. If you are slightly constipated, you could have the same type symptoms, as well. You will also feel the dull crampy sensation from gas, which may proceed diarrhea. As long as you are not running fever or otherwise ill, there isn’t much to go on at this point so far as diagnosis. It could simply be an irritated colon from something you ate, or the precursor to something else. You just have to wait and see. If it’s constipation, then correcting that would solve the problem. If it’s gas- well, that will move along in time. Anything else will either go away or make itself known fairly soon.
There could be many reasons for that area to hurt but there is a good possibility that if you get your bowels functioning properly you can get rid of the pain. I would take a fiber supplement like natures 3 along with a gentle and natural bowel stimulant like lbsII. You should have 2-3 bowel movements a day and they shouldn’t be thin and stringy. If food is going in, it should be coming out. You can get those products at
