You should have received an instruction sheet that gave you directions on how and when to take the laxative. Normally, you start taking the laxative about 12 hours before the procedure. A second dose is taken six hours before the procedure. You should not eat or drink anything for eight hours before the test. The day before the procedure, you should eat/drink clear fluids, nothing red like Kool Ade or red jello. Good luck on your test.
Take it whenever you doctor told you too.
I had one 2 years ago. I wasn’t allowed to eat anything for24 hours before the test. I had to take laxatives ALL DAY LONG. The idea is to have your system completely clean. That takes 24 hours. If not done properly, you will have to do it over.
I agree with PA..you should have got a
instruction sheet…with the laxative that
your suppose to drink..if your not properley cleaned out you will have to do it all over, from what i know a good clean
out consists of laxatives,suppositories
and enemas or colonics..good luck and
hope everything good in your favour
no food drink lots of clear liquids take the laxative early evening , then the day of, no food or drink. show up with a driver to drive you home.
If you ate food you might want to call and cancel since the laxative would not have cleaned your colon out enough. It will save you having to go back and do it again because they couldn’t see anything but stool.
