What kind of bowel or colon disease could I have?
I have stomach pain, and pain on the left and sometimes right side of my bellybutton but the pain isnt constant just sometimes all of a sudden it comes and it isnt excruciating. Also I dont have big bowel movements I guess I could be constipated and dont poop for 4 days sometimes but I never have any blood in my stool. I workout so could the abdominal pain be from straining and little muscles being pulled. I have gas, and sometimes bloating. What disease could
I have, a life-threatening one? Or something that is nothing to worry about?
Update. I just had a bowel movement . The stools are narrow. Could that mean colon polyp?

As with any condition people post on here, the best answer is that you should see your physician if you are concerned. That said, your symptoms could be consistent with either constipation or with irritable bowel syndrome. If you are only stooling every four days, and you have to strain some, and the stools are hard, it is likely that you have constipation. People get more gas when they are constipated. Often with constipation you can get abdominal pains that come and go from shifting gas and from too much stool in your colon. The best way to manage this is to drink lots, take lots of fiber and have good toilet hygiene (set aside 10 minutes twice a day, about 10 minutes after meals to sit on the toilet, ensure that your knees are at 90 degrees or even more bent, and not dangling down). If this doesn’t work, see your physician. Irritable bowel syndrome is a condition that usually involves irregular bowel habits, constipation alternating with loose bowel movements, cramping, bloating, gas, pain with stooling, and other symptoms. A good web site for this is: http://digestive.niddk.nih.gov/ddiseases/pubs/ibs/
If you ever see blood, see your physician. Good luck
