What is it called when a portion of the small and large intestine is removed?

I am wondering because 9 years ago I got into a car accident that caused alot of damage to my intestines. The doctor had to remove some of my small and large intestine. Now I want to go into the Army so I am trying to tell my recruiter exactly what the surgery I had done is called.
