What is colon cleansing all about??

   Colon cleansing is over rated. All the things listed in the previous post may be in food but they do not collect in your colon. They pass out like all other waste.

   Doing a colon cleanse is worthless. If you have enough fiber in your diet then there is no need. Most people are not willing to eat the 6 to 8 servings of fruits and vegetables needed to get the amount of fiber we need in out diets. If this is the case then a generic brand of fiber supplement will keep your colon working properly and keep any waste for collecting.

   The idea behind a colon cleanse is to scrape out or eliminate all the collected junk that gets trapped in the wrinkles of your yards of small intestines in your body. This junk could include collected unprocessed indigestible compounds such as plastic or resin (sap) based polymers used in wax coatings or emulsifiers in cheaper packaged foods. Such as carnuba wax or other waxes as emulsifiers in cheap chocolate, for example. I’m not making this up, check out the labels of your foods in the packages and look at all the extra junk you will find on the label that is not food!)
   There is a lot of stuff in packaged food used as preservatives or fillers that are not large enough to get collected with the rest of your food waste. There are also a lot of parasites and other bacteria in your colon that you may not realize. A colon cleanse is designed to help clean out all that stuff.
   I’m not a real advocate of commercial colon cleanses myself. A colon cleanse can be done better, I personally think, with a bottle of encapsulated pysillum husks, taking 2 daily over a period of time. or, if you prefer, eating oatmeal or all bran for breakfast over a period of time will also help clean out your colon over time. Most colon cleanses try to get you cleaned out over a 24-hour period but the process of volunteering for diarrhea is not an idea for me. Some people swear by it, but most doctors recommend daily fiber in your diet rather than a commercial colon cleanse.
   But if you must, I suggest checking out the over-the-counter options at Vitamin World first. They have the better selection of more reliable products than most places. Just remember to give yourself the time to spend in the bathroom during your elimination period, so don’t do a colon cleanse the week of a project due or right before an important event like a date or a wedding or a traveling gig!
