What is a safe and effective colon cleanse for an 11 year old girl?
My daughter is about 20 pounds overweight and it just mainly sits in her stomach. I am sure she is infested with all kinds of parasites sitting in her bowel and I need to help her lose weight without diet pills. She is walking 4 miles a night for the last 3 or four weeks and losing some inches, however she looks like she is almost 7 months pregnant. I have had her tested for diabetes and her thyroid is ok.
To add to recent posts, I am not concerned with her losing the weight I am concerned that she is sick. She is very active, she does have asthma and I am sure the soda pop has not helped. We have cut that out and it has helped. I have just read about toxic colons from fast food and wanted to clean her out.
I wish everyone would quit judging me. I have taken her to over four doctors. My husband and I have gone through a divorce and I know she is comfort eating as well. I am concerned that she may have parasites because the only place that she has gained the weight is in the face and the stomach. The way her stomach desends has me concerned that the doctors are not catching something seriously wrong with her. She does have horrible constipation issues that run in the family. I was trying to get advice about safe methods to provide relief and maybe help with the bloated stomach.

whole wheat and fruit and slack on the red meat. please don’t go beyond that
Try this, http://www.MasterCleanse.com it works wonders for the body and helps maintain normal body wieght.
People are so naive ! Most doctors don’t really want you getting well, you can take it or leave it. A colon cleanse will not harm a child ! This master cleanse is good for everything, she will feel better and have way more energy when done.
You may want to ask a doctor about this.
Yeah it is, i know a 5 year old that had it done. Its all very well exercising but is she healthy eating to?
2-3 hours of exercise a day, no junk food or soda or anything high in fat, just fruits and veggies and other lowfat, healthy foods.
try drinking epsom salt in water….it tastes disgusting but it will have her running to the restroom.
If you are that concerned, take her to a doctor. I don’t think a colon cleanse is a safe, healthy option for an 11 year old.
NO colon cleansing is safe for a child. They’re not even effective for adults.
And you’re sure she’s infested with parasites? Her doctor would have noticed that.
I would suggest buying her alot of pineapple juice first. That has been known to cleanse the stomach. If that doesn’t help, maybe some Fiber Supplements for Children.
It’s nice to know that parents say these things about their daughters nowadays.
"She looks like she is almost 7 months pregnant."
Shouldn’t you be focused on her health and how she feels about herself rather than what she looks like?
I agree that it’s not healthy to be that overweight, but a colon cleanse will make her poop, and that is about it. Putting your daughter through a colon cleanse would be humiliating for an 11 year old, and those things are shams anyway.
Plus I’d give it more time than ’3 or four weeks.’ How much weight do you expect her to lose in less than a month?
A colon cleanse won’t help her to lose weight. Just take out soft drink and fast food from her diet
Im not a doctor, but I have had these kind of issues for years now. I had to go to a GI specialist and a nutritionist, they really help! And honestly the best way I slim that part down, I eat alot of fruit and do some stomach crunches to physically push it out. Again Im not a doctor, and this method might be completely off the wall, but if it helped me maybe it could help someone else. Good Luck
Dear lord, no. Keep up the exercise, its obviously working. She sounds like a relatively healthy young girl that has spent a little too much time at the table or the couch and not in the yard. Get her active outside doing something and start feeding her right. Stop obsessing over the extra 20lbs she’s carrying and let her lose it the right way.
Colon cleansing my be perfectly safe for her, but its the totally wrong route to take.
I would take her to the doctor and ask them about the possibility of worms. Your daughter is your most valuable treasure in life and needs to be taken care of professionally. The doctor will be able to assist your daughter lose weight if it is necessary and also treat her for parasitic infection if she is infected in a safe manner.
It is also impossible for anyone online to give you safe advice considering you’ve not included the child’s height, weight, medical history, diet, exercise regimen, family history, allergies, etc. All of these factors are critical in giving a proper diagnosis with regards to any treatments or diet changes especially in a growing child. Please take your child to a doctor before you try any self diagnosis or treatments on her.
You need to see a doctor and get help there. You shouldn’t be do any crazy colon cleanse on a 11 year old girl. Hmmm wonder why we have so many issues about ourselves – you sure are not helping with your attitude. Maybe you need to talk to a doctor and get a doctor recommended diet – check out what you are feeding her – she’s only 11 I am sure she doesn’t buy the groceries.
I’m glad you noticed! Most mothers ignore these signs of overweight children and then when those children grow older they have all sorts of medical problems. Twenty pounds overweight isn’t completely big, but it is a little to much. A lot of fruits are really good for fasting and cleaning out the colone. I’ll give you sites on facts of all sorts of food that help out the body and help cleanse the system.
