What can I do to treat Irritable Bowel Syndrome? Or is the doctor the only one?
I’ve been dealing with stomach problems for 7 months now, and it seems like whatever I eat or drink (even water) upsets my stomach and I bloat SO bad!. I don’t have any insurance anymore, and I don’t want a huge doctor bill. I’ve had a bunch of tests ran to see if it was my gall bladder, but it wasn’t. Any ideas what to do next?

Well… do you have IBS-D (diharrea) IBS-C (constipation) or both? They need to be treated differently.
Sometimes water upsets my stomach too and I feel it sloshing around in there. I have IBS-C and what doctors have told me to do is use Miralax every day for 2 weeks, and then every other day, take a stool softener like Colace, try to eat fiber (I take Metamucil pills sometimes)- but slowly increase your fiber intake so the bloating and pain don’t get worse. (If you have IBS-D or a combination, this will more than likely make it worse so don’t do that.)
Also, try to avoid dairy, spicy food, and alcohol.Try to eat small meals.
There are some prescriptions for IBS. I don’t take them because they made me dizzy and made my stomach hurt so bad I had to lie in bed for days but it might not be that way for you. Are there any free of sliding-scale medical clinics where you live? Maybe even if you call a nurse they might be able to give you some advice.
they sell Prevacid otc but it like $40.00 at CVS or Walgreen’s
my husband has to take this for acid reflux and bloating and diarhea….Aciphex is another good one that may help !!
