What are the symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome?
Some people say it’s regular constipation, some say it’s regular diarrhea, some say its constipation that comes and goes, some say it’s diarrhea that comes and goes, some say it alternates between the two, some say its BOTH at the same time.. like bowel movements that start hard and then get softer and then get runny toward the end…
I’m really confused.. what ARE the symptoms of IBS?

-abdominal pain and cramps, which may come in "on-again, off-again" bouts or as a continuous dull ache
-constipation or diarrhea, or alternating periods of both
-urgent need to have a bowel movement
-excessive gas
-bloating
-changes in bowel habits
-mucus in the stool
IBS is one of those diagnoses they throw at intestinal issues that have no apparent cause. I’ve never heard of IBS being constipation though … I thought it was diarrhea triggered by stress.
