Toddler having Rectal Pain, Needing Advice?
Okay so its been since Feb 20th my three year old son has been screaming out in pain and Ive been to the ER and two doctors and not finding any answers? His symptoms are something I cant even find on google, when hes about to use number 2 he starts screaming and his whole body shakes because hes in so much pain, his stools are enormously big, there is no bleeding or anything like that, he runs to the couch or bed and says hes cold while hes in pain, one dr did a blood test results must be fine because they said they would call me, even though im going to call in the am to make sure. Anyone have any idea whats going on?? When he cries out I ask him whats wrong and he says my butt hurts and his back hurts?? Doctors are not taking this seriously?!! Help

oh the stresses of parenthood.. this breaks my heart… my sister had a problem like this when she was younger where she just hurt when she had to poo.. she was eating a lot of things like cheese.. (dairy products) and not getting essential vitamins or a balanced diet and it started effecting her painfully. the doctors had her drinking a little bit of mineral oil (she wasnt 3 though.. ask a doctor first!) he needs less dairy and more fiber for sure!… try to rub his tummy with gentle pressure to help loosen everything up a little bit, and talk to your doctor about a childs stool softener, i believe little remedies brand makes one!
Is he under your supervision all day? If not, you may ask him why he thinks his butt hurts?
If he is under your supervision, and his butt only hurts when he’s about to poop; try changing his diet. Give him more fruit. Make sure that he’s getting all the nutrients he needs to regulate his system. Good luck with everything. I hope your son is okay.
increase his intake of fiber & water, avoid all cow’s milk products, keep a food diary, and see a GI doctor.
Well Hope there really is hope here.
I am quite familiar with this because at some times I suffer the same and hate to admit it but true.
The pain is a muscle spasm in the rectal muscle around the anus, this is caused by dehydration and a lack of Potassium in the diet, as you are wondering why and what harm will come if I do what this guy says?
Give the boy a banana, a glass or water every 20 minutes for 4 hours. This will solve the potassium and hydration problems.
The other thing here is hard stool, a common approach is a stool softener, but these can be especially harsh for youngin’s LOL
Do you know what fiber is? Like the Metamucil or actually the WalMart version which is quite good and tastes like oranges a little mixed in water and drank 2 times a day will loosen that bowel up and no more hard stool, it is safe honestly otherwise I wouldn’t suggest it. Watch the dose however, decrease the dose by half for the child.
As I was saying, muscles cramp, and start to shake when lack of water, lack of potassium, or extreme strain is placed on a dehydrated or otherwise nutritionally deprived muscle. Not saying you starve the kid, No just have to remember he needs the same nutrients you do. Oranges, apples, bananas, and several other fruits contain natural fiber and natural potassium so the muscle can function properly. Potassium is what helps the electricity travel through the muscle and when a shortage of it occurs a short circuit occurs, the muscle binds up and knots and signals fire all wrong inside the muscle.
Gas pain also causes cramps but Leviquin drops takes care of that easily.
Fiber is the easiest adsafest way to loosen stool aside from Castor Oil and I wouldn’t wish that on anyone.
