My neighbor was just told by her Dr that half of all urinary tract infections come from girls not being taught the proper way to cleanse after a bowel movement. The wrong way to wipe is back to front. I cant believe that this is the way they are taught. How many do this and if you do you need to change.

Always wipe front to back. And after urinating you are supposed to blot dry and not wipe.

It is not the only way fecal matter travels. An unclean bottom can do the smae, undies get a ltitle soiled and bacteria tavles. Teach your kid to wipe, use baby wipes if needed, change undies at night. Other than that, some people just get them, maybe from too much fun in the bed, also dehydration, luck, run down. I doubt many people wipe wrong. No kid wants to get poop in their girly part.

I was taught the same thing, to always wipe from front to back so as not to get any germs on the urinary and vaginal area. The doctor had also told my Mom that years ago. One hint to all of the ladies is to use flushable baby wipes for this situation. Happy wiping to all of us girls!!!

i’ve never really thought about this. but i usually do it back to front. i dont even think i was told or taught anything about this. i dont think it really matters, i have never had a UTI. and i am 21. i guess i may have heard that when you poop you should wipe front to back. but never knew why.
