This is a GCSE Biology questons so it doesn’t need to be too advanced. Basically, how do Carbon Dioxide, Oxygen and Glucose may enter or leave a cell in the Small Intestine, through what processes (Diffusion/Active Transport/Osmosis) and why? Thanks in advance.

I have never been one of those people that had a bowel movement everyday…but for the last few days I have had a bowel movement at least once a day..yesterday twice..(sorry tmi)..I was wondering anyone else had this same situation?? Did you go into labor soon after??? Do you all think this is like cleansing my body for getting ready to go into labor?? Thanks in advance for answering…Im so excited to have my baby boy…

I’ve had a "broken" bowel since I was about 6 years old. I’ve been to doctors time and time again, and they just send me home saying I’m constipated. I only have bowel movements maybe twice a month, if I’m lucky. I can’t see a gastroenterologist without a referral, and I can’t get a referral because none of the doctors think anything is wrong with me. I’ve not had regular bowel movements for 19 years, I know that’s not constipation. So, my question is: Does anyone have any home remedies that will drastically cleanse my colon that require seeing a doctor???? (Since they aren’t helping me anyway). One more thing…laxatives don’t work. I’ve tried EVERYTHING that I can think of. So ANY help at all will be GREATLY appreciated!! Thanks in advance!
((I’ve even tried the enemas..those are only a quick fix…and even then it doesn’t seem to do much at all..)

I was diagnosed with IBS 3 years ago but over the last 12 months my symptoms have got really bad.
A few weeks ago I started passing blood while trying to make bowel movements, sometimes i didnt actually make a bowel movement just passed blood, this lasted for 3 days
and hasnt happened since,I went straight to my DR who took blood tests and a stool sample, they all came back ok.My GP has refered me back to a gastroenterologist for futher investigation and to check for IBD (Inflammatory Bowel Disease) which my grandmother suffered with.
Over the weekend I have had sever pressure in my rectum and also sharp stabbing pains which woke me up from a sound sleep, also my stomach pains have got alot worse and more frequent than normal,I have made an appointment with my GP for this on Monday.
I was just wandering if anybody knows of anything I could do to ease this pressure and pain in my rectum?
Thanks in advance for any replies :)

I’m currently using Symmetry Botanacleanse. I’m on day two of the 11 day program, and for the last 2 days, I’ve had a mild, but ongoing headache. I haven’t taken any pain killers, as I’m afraid it may cause the Botanacleanse to become ineffective…thanks in advance for your help!!!

I received notice in the mail yesterday with my appointment for my endoscopy/colonoscopy. I have to prepare for it one day and then have the procedure the next day. And they are putting me to sleep for it. Should I just prepare for it while I’m at work and only take the day off the for procedure? Or will I feel good enough to go to work the next day after the procedure? Anyone else go thru this and have any advice? Thanks in advance to all answers.

I’ve had rectal pain and / or bleeding for a couple of years now, off and on. It goes away for several days or weeks, but then comes back again. Yesterday I had alot of rectal bleeding, I didn’t go to the ER because it stopped after a few seconds and also, I’m just now getting health insurance, I’ve been approved already, but don’t have the card yet with all the necessary info. Today I had a little more rectal bleeding, not too much. It was after having a bm, I saw blood in the toilet and on the toilet paper. I’m having some rectal pain now. I’m wanting to make an appointment with a gastroenterologist that specializes in hemmoroids, colon cancer etc, but am wating to have the health insurance card in my hand as they require health insurance. In the meantime, could anyone who’s had similar symptoms or who knows someone’s has had these symptoms give me a clue as to what it could be? Another important thing to mention is that these symptoms started soon after I had my baby about 2 years ago and they’ve been off and on since then. Thanks in advance.

background,,I had colon cancer surgery in 2004 followed by 6 months chemo because one microscopic cancer cell was discovered in the surrounding lymph system which was completely removed along with my right ascending colon where a tumor was located, I had two subsequent CT scans which were declared clear…in Sept. 2006 I had a routine CT scan that showed 3 "spots" in my lymph system in my lower abdomen…they were unable to biopsy them so put me back on chemo for a 6 month regimen.. I had a Petscan that was inconclusive for malignacy, and 2 CT scans that showed no difference in size or location for these "spots"..after 4 months i was taken off of chemo and 4 months later had another CT scan to see what, if anything had changed…No change…Doctor cautiously has conceded that these "spots" are probably not malignacys…Has anybody here ever experienced anything similar to this?…would love to know..thanks in advance,,and sorry for being so wordy..thx.
i will be doing CT scans every 6 months for a while, plus having blood work every 4 months..

Does anyone have first hand experience on a colon detox to help with my immune system? I have bad health and we think this might work. I also am on a limited income. Thanks in advance!

My brother-in-law has just been diagnosed with colon cancer. Apparently it's already spread to his liver and lungs. He also has some cysts formed on his kidneys and pancreas. They've told him it's terminal and he has about 3 years to live. The man is only 41! He has 4 young girls, the youngest being 3. He hasn't started any treatment yet, but they're going to do a colonscopy, and will remove the colon, then he'll start chemo. My question: Is there anything out there that could possibly fix the damage done? Any sort of herbal remedies he could try before the doctors start their treatment? What about life insurance? Does anyone know of a company that will cover him? Has anyone recovered from this illness personally? If so, how? We refuse to let him die without first trying every available resource possible. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!
