Hi, thanks for helping me out. I want to detox (colon cleanse) but I cant pay for meds or pills. How can you detox with just food, or is there a cleanser that is really uncostly?

had aspirating pneumonia 2x in the las 3 months, he has never even had pneumonia 1x in his life until now and he is 6 yrs. I was wondering if anyone had an idea of what could be happening? They did change his feedings from pediasure with fiber to ensure plus (it has no fiber) so I thought maybe with his many meds he was getting backed up with his feces. I do give him milk and molasses enemas every 3 to 4 days and miralax when needed but I m not sure if its cleaning him out. The doctors dont have a clue. I tried to start benifiber but even the little amount seems to give him cramps. Any idea and do you think I may be right with my thought of being backed up?oh and a G/J tube is a feeding tube that goes in his stomach and his intestines so there are 2 tubes for feeding. Ok so for quite a long time now I have been having problems going to the bathroom. When I go it hurts really bad and I start to bleed from my butt. But this is only sometimes. I went to the doctor and was tested for ulcers and came out negitive. He told me I had colonitis (spelling). I was put on meds but after a month it didnt work. I figured he was wrong. Plus he really didnt take the time at all didnt even look or anything. I thought it was a fissure. But I’m not sure. I started using baby wipes instead of regular toliet paper cause it made it worse. Now it is getting to the point where if I don’t bleed it burns for hours and then itches. I wanted to see what others thought. And if they had any ideas how to treat it. Thanks

I’m starting to give my hopes up after I’ve tried nearly all diets and none have worked for me. In the summer I plan to make a colon cleanse and take parasite meds, and for now I’m on a lo/no carb diet. I’ve tried the no fat diet, the low sugar diet, and even the most basic one, the "eat less exercise more" diet.
I just don’t know what to do anymore. If it helps any, the kind of fat my body is making is deep-fat, as in my body is making a potbelly instead of distributing fat all over the body. All answers help, thanks everyone.

These are probiotics not colon cleanses, and fight off a number of common ailments as well as being great for our immune system. I just recently got interested in probiotics and foods that heal since my grand daughter was born at 27 weeks weighing 2 lbs with a number of health problems. She has beaten all the digestive issues and needs no meds and probiotics have been in her diet now for 31/2 yrs. Just trying to get info from others who have been helped by using these and which is better.

I have tried all the meds docs have prescribed,including Zelnorm.Nothing works.Though a cure would be nice,I’m just looking for something to relieve the pain and discomfort,at least enough to let me have somewhat of a normal life.My type of IBS is with constipation,not diarrhea.

I have been thinking about doing a cleanse for awhile, but am now seriously considering it because I wanted to start a diet (I am going to be in the wedding of a very close friend soon) and was told the best thing to do before starting a diet is do a cleanse. I was told it will kickstart the diet and get rid of any junk that shouldnt be there and you cant get rid of from dieting. I went to GNC and was directed to their 7-day total body cleanse (the woman said her daughter did it and lost some weight and noticed a difference, also many people she said come back for it several times, and she was planning to buy it for herself. Someone else told me to try Colonix. I am a little weary of that one for some reason. Would you try the 7 day cleanse from GNC (its supposed to be for kidneys, liver, circulatory and colon.) or does this really not have any benefit? does it interfere with any other meds…such as birth control??? just thinking because its got some herbal stuff in it….?

Ok, i am 19 and i want to start by saying, i am a huge hypochondriac. If i hear someone talk about an illness, that part of my body immediately starts to feel uncomfortable. But this time something is wrong. I have recently had bright red blood in the toilet bowl, as well as when i wipe. I few months ago, i weight about 200 pounds and i should weight about 170. I found out a had an under active thyroid and along with the meds i started to excercise and i lost 30 pounds in 2 months. Now i am worried the weight loss was not from my hard work but from colon cancer. It is the summer and there is nothing to do, so i have become really bored. The boredom has brought on mild depression which has made me more tired then usual. Now i fear i am tired because of cancer. I am freaking out. Seriously i can watch a movie where a killer disembowels a bunch of kids but if my grandma talks about arthritis my feet start to hurt like hell and i get queasy. My aunt had colon cancer but she is unhealthy. She smoked (until she got it), is overweight, and has a terrible diet and she is like 60. Please help me, if the colon cancer does not kill me i will worry until i give myself ulcers. I get a blood test every month to test my thyroid and as of now everything else is normal. What do you think…..am i just going insane?

Hello, I’ve been diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis, had some problems, ended up in the hospital and they did another scope and my dr said that the biopsy came back inconclusive? Anyone have any idea of why or how that would happen? Should I ask to have another test? Go for a 2nd opinion??

Also: when admitted to the hospital he was thinking I had a colon infection, then he told me that he was 80 percent sure it was that but wanted to wait on more test to come back. Then next day says that I don’t have a colon infection and wanted to see what the biopsy test showed. Then that came back and he said , well I think it’s either an infection or your colitis had spread or your just having a severe flare up right now and gave me a diet plan, tons of meds and was told to do a follow up in a month? uhhh??

Often times because of the meds that I take I cannot go to the bathrrom (#2) I am 46 yrs.old and wonder if maybe a colon cleansing (iriigation) would help maybe every 3-6 months. I have never had one, so if you can tell me what they do in the procedure. Thank You.

came on VERY suddenly. was in a public restroom for over 1/2 hr b4 i could stand to make the 3 min. trip home. hurt so much i immediately felt the need to vomit (but didn’t) – and i’m pretty tough w/pain. never felt anything so bad in my life. took an infant sepository (all i had on hand) and laid down. was able to rest and sleep for over an hour. upon rising, sm. bowel movement. felt better until now. intense pain in stomach and rectal area. hurts to push. hurts to sit. hurts to stand up straight.

i don’t have health insurance and can’t afford to go to the doc’s – especially if I can treat at home. should i be concerned? how can i treat?
i’m 28 and healthy. only meds are Phetek to control seizures (which i’ve been on for over 5 yrs). am still passing a sm bit of gas and had that one sm ("pieces") bm this afternoon. have not vomited, only felt like it b/c of the pain.

I am 34 weeks, and yesterday I woke up and was having contractions with very painful rectal pressure during them. I had a doctors appointment yesterday and told him and her was going to check me, but found something down there and didn’t want to check me, incase it could cause in infection. So he wrote me a prescribtion for some meds. that I have to take til I deliever. Well I continued to have the rectal pain all day yesterday. When I got home form the doctor, I took two stool softners, to see if that was the problem, well about 9:30 last night I was in the bathroom. I got up this morning and I still have the pain, when it comes on, I can’t still on my butt or if I am standing, I double over in pain and can’t walk. I have tryed to go to the bathroom but nothing comes out (sorry if TMI)

What do ya’ll think is going on…is it just a very bad case of constapation or what? This is my 3rd child but was induced early with those at 35 weeks, and never had this til it was time to push!

I am being about to have a colonoscopy and endoscopy the 29th this month to figure out whether i have crohn’s or irritable bowel syndrome. I wanted to know…does irritable bowel syndrome cause diarrhea? How to i stop it naturally preferably no meds) Is there anything i can eat to stop it?

My son has been constipated since birth and I have taken him to many doctor’s and now he is seeing a Gastro doctor and she is having me do the bowel cleansing process "with the meds like magnesium citrate and senna C tablets" and she wants to do this for a year and it doesnt seem to help, what else can i do for him? he is always sick to his stomach, can hardly ever have a regular bowel movement, he misses alot of school because of this. he wont eat alot because his stomach always hurts, I have changed his diet to include alot of fiber, veggies, fruits, etc… nothing seems to help. he has been in the ER numerous times for this. what can i do for my son so he can live a normal life??? please help us.

NO this doctor wont listen to me and look at anything she said that the only problem is that we need to get his colon to shrink???? she just thinks that I am stupid or something. 43/yr old/f. had gastric bypass 3/04 lost 134 lbs, done great for 2 yrs. May 2006 I had unbearable rectal pain, unexplained at that, went to the doc, had internal Hemi’s, Had surgery – didn’t help, had G/B removed didn’t help, Colonoscopy Dx’ed with IBS…placed on Librax, didn’t help..these are my sympotms:
each a.m I have usually (since GBP) 2-3 loose BM’s each morning. right after I start having rectal burning to the point now that I stay nauseated. Thru the day I will have productive gas, (pass a small amount of stool with gas) and I can have up to 6-10 BM’s a day but feel the constant need to eliminate with PAIN and BURNING. I use all the OTC meds but they don’t help, sitz baths only ease the pain. every Friday SX are severe . YES I work in a very high stress job. I run a medical office and have a huge amount of responsibility.
This condition has chg’ed my life…..

I need to lose a few pounds and I’ve eaten all the low fat dinners like Healthy Choice, Lean Cuisine etc…I have a spastic colon which is being controlled by meds. Yet, those dinners kill me and hurt my stomach. Any suggestions?

Has anyone else got the two together? I sometimes cant go to the toilet for days. Now Ive just recently started taking medication for the Ulcerative colitis but it seems to only make things worse. The other night I had constant stomach ache but didn’t go to the toilet. Now when I eat I simply feel sick. I have been to the toilet but just a bit each time. What should I do. The doc said I should just caryr on on the meds and everything should get better but this is painful

I was concidering using one to flush out my system real good and possibly drop a few pounds. Does anyone know of a good, safe, inexpencive colon cleanser? I take some perscription medicines and I was also concerned about the flush washing my meds out of my system.

A co worker is advocating a colon cleansing system, drnatura.com, and says that he no longer takes any meds, and even stopped taking insulin shots. Colon cleansing etc, scam or real?

I was wondering, is there a safe supplement I can take to do a home colon cleansing that I can get from GNC, Vitamin Shoppe, etc (or a local health store in Orange County, CA)? I don’t want to order any product over the internet. Also, how long does it usually take to work? Can I do it all in one day? Because I am on meds that I have to take everyday, and I’m sure it would flush the meds out of my system, but if I could do it in the morning anad take my meds by night it should be fine. I don’t want to have a colon irrigation procedure, so I’m looking for a safe home alternative. Thanks!!
