I have been diagnosed with Irritable Bowel Syndrome and the doctors told me to be on a high fiber diet which worked at 1st and now has stopped working and then on Zelnorm which also worked at 1st but no longer works. Does any have any other recommendations? I have an appt with a natural medicine doctor next week.

If the case is severe, and your anus is bleeding and sensitive to pain, can they give you anesthetic or a numbing medicine?

My dad was in the hospital with a bad colon disease for like 4 months. After almost 800,000 dollars in medical expenses, many surgeries, a ton of medicine, and MANY prayers, he recovered! How could he have recovered if it wasn’t for those prayers?

We have a female horse who is about 21-25 years old. Thursday we realized that she was sick, and called the vet who said she had the flu. We gave her medicine as instructed (banamine) and walked her that night, but she was no better on Friday. We took her to the vet Friday afternoon, and the vet determined she had colic instead of the flu. He gave her oil to help her bowels move, but still even by today (Monday) nothing has changed. He has told us that she will either use the bathroom, or something inside her will rupture. He has taken X-rays and said that she is blocked up beyond her colon so doing an enema on her won’t help anything. Her intestines are NOT twisted, and the vet is unable to determine why nothing is passing through. Does anyone know ANYTHING we can do to help relieve her or fix this problem without putting her to sleep. It seems that there has to be another way of cleaning out her system than just using oil as a laxative. PLEASE HELP!
The vet who cares for her treats ONLY large animals like horses. She has been in his care since Friday in a barn where he treats his patients. He put her on IV for the first time this morning, but gave her water with her oil prior to today. Also, our horse exhibits NO pain. She isn’t pawing, biting, or anything like that. She just stands around with her head dropped. She won’t eat or drink. Does this not sound like colic?

Sorry that this is really long. We just moved into a new place with my cat Bella and she seemed to be doing fine with the move. However a few days ago, she vomited twice.I T was dark and liquidy. She stopped and thought it just a hairball or something. Yesterday, she got outside for like 5 minutes or so, because I was cleaning her litter box outside and she got out and jumped and we had to find her. She stopped vomiting and thought it just a hairball or something. Today she became really lethargic, when she seemed fine yesterday. Usually Bella is super friendly running up to the door meowing when you get home meowing when you get up following you running around the house. Today she just layed in bed and slept even though we were all up and moving. We did take her to the vet and they took xrays. There was something in her intestines that could have been something she swallowed or a hairball(which is possible because she’s been shedding a lot due to the stress of moving.) They gave her fluids and told us to make sure she drank water and to give her hairball medicine 2x a day to see if she could pass it. If not its a 00 surgery. Yeah not pretty considering we are absolutely broke. I don’t know what to do. She won’t drink anything so we give her water from a dropper. We pretty much have to force her hairball medicine down. However she does seem kind of better when I pick her up. At the vet, she cried really loud and now she either doesn’t meow or only once. Do you think she’ll be ok and pass it? I’m really worried because we just can’t afford surgery. This is what I hate about vets. I want to be one, but don’t you think that if someone honestly could not afford the surgery, what are they going to do let her die? That’s horrible. When I’m a vet, if someone can’t afford it, I would do it for free or less if I could. Anyway. Thanks and any advice on getting her to eat, drink, get better would be great.

I am a female who is 5’4 and 130 lbs. I go to the gym regularly and have a healthy lifestyle and eating habits. Due to the fact that I am short and have muscular parents I have big arms (bulky) and large calf’s and tights (bulky) though not fat. It just runs in my family… But I am really trying to figure out how to lose about 10-15lbs without bulking up. I regularly run and do elliptical and take some Pilate’s classes… but still I tend to bulk… I admit I could still do more working out but I do go regularly…

that being said I am on the medicine Accutane for acne and am in my 2nd month and loving the results. Obviously there are a lot of bad things going around about the medicine and that is why I am curious…

Would it be bad to mix the Acai Berry and possibly a Colon Cleanse system with the Accutane? I do not want to upset my body… but I do want to lose weight without bulking up like I tend to do. I am also curious if these products are natural like they say or if they have a lot of chemicals? For I don’t like to put to many chemicals and crazy things into my body.. I don’t even take Tylenol unless I am in dire pain.

I would be open to hear other suggestions but I am not looking to get into any extreme diet due to the fact that I already eat pretty healthy…

So overall I guess my question is How do I lose 10-15 lbs and slim down and NOT bulk up!

All I have to do is a Raw Food Detox for 30 days, Lung Detox for 30 days, Colon Cleanse for 30 days and a Skin Detox for 30 days. These are all done with only foods and water. I plan on seeing a doctor, nutritionist and herbal medicine doctor before I begin. Do you think this is a good idea?

I have went through a colonoscopy an was told i have scar tissue from other surgeries I had years ago an this is what was causing me to have trouble an pain in my left side,I also have one aretery vein malformation so the doctor put me on some medicine called glycolax which is not working to good at all, I haven’t been back to doctor since I haven’t had luck with the med ,but I was wondering if there is a way doctors can remove scar tissue in this area without a colon resection? My 3 year old daughter complained last Saturday of having pain when peeing. I took her to the doc and they took a urine culture and gave her antibiotics for a probable UTI. I gave the antibiotics for 3 days before the office called and said the culture came back negative. I stopped giving her the medicine on thier orders. Then yesterday she started complaining of pain when she poops. She was sitting on the toilet and crying hysterically about the pain. I was alarmed and we went back the docs again. My father in his early 50′s got diagnosed with Colon cancer stage 3. Had surgery about 7 weeks ago. VERY little has spread past his colon wall to his lymph nodes (less than 3)

His chemo is about to start in 4 days through a PICC line. The medicine in the chemotherapy is Oxaliplatin, Leucovotin, 5-Fluorouracil insfusion.

He’ll be in chemo for 2 months, the radiation with chemo and then chemo… Is this kind of treatment good for this stage of colon cancer? More information on the drugs?? Could he possibly find another treatment? What is the best thing for him to do right now?

White bleached flour has virtually no nutrients, but is used as the main ingredient in most baked products. Why do we have to bleach flour when the bleaching process depletes flour of most of its nutrients? Why don’t we use whole wheat flour in all of our breads, cookies and baked goods? I find that even in fancy, expensive restaurants, white bleached flour is commonly used instead of the much healthier organic, whole wheat flour. Is there something political about eating white flour? White flour has little fiber and vitamins and surely contributes to 2 of the biggest killers, cancer and heart disease, in this country. I also noticed that medical doctors, including my own, don’t tell their patients to avoid white bleached flour. I know someone with a colon condition which was in part due to the lack of fiber in his diet whose doctor didn’t tell him to avoid white flour baked goods. I find this strange because this caveat is well known among nutritionists and Eastern medicine doctors.

3 days ago i got this, and again 2 says ago and now today, basically i am sleeping on the right side, and then wake up because my stomach hurts ALOT, and it feels like gas, but the pressure keeps building, to the point it becomes a great disconfert to stand.
the ONLY way to make it better is to go to the bathroom, take a dump, which doesnt help yet, but adter another 2 min, diareah comes, and then another 1 min goes by, i start passing gass finaly

I visited the emergency room 4 days ago with symptoms of severe stomach pain and nausea after eating. They ran blood tests gave me pepcid and nausea medicine and sent me home. They also told me that it might be an ulcer and told me to follow up with my doctor. I met with my doctor today who gave me a stronger medicine called Nexium and told me in a week if the pain persists he will scheduale me for and upper GI. Well now there is rectal bleeding. Should i go to the hospital?

I’m a 21 year old female. About two weeks ago I had a stomach virus that we will say really cleansed my system. I didn’t have a BM for over a week after that (virus left around Monday, I had a BM the next Thursday). But that BM wasn’t what I thought was a ‘substantial’ one, I guess. I was diagnosed Endometriose 4years ago. It was only after one year of wrong diagnoses and prejudicial medicine that doctors realized what was wrong – I had surgery but this disease lasts a lifetime.
Please share your experience here and let everybody know about endometriose, before it is too late – it can cause infertility.
It´s becoming a more and more common disease every day and even though science is so advanced, we can´t atribute a cause or find a cure?
Endometriose is a serious malfunction of the endometrio – womb cells, as I explain to my child: the so called baby bed that finally turns into menstruation thus cleaning the organism, grows in the wrong places, outside the womb, creating extremely painful infections in other areas of the female body (a patient friend had endometriose in a lung – cells can travel all over the body but endo is usually located close to the the genital area: ovaries, external womb,intestine.

Dear reader i’m just posting for some advice,my husband has prostatitis and the doctor prescribed him 100mg doxycycline twice a day,
