I haven’t had a regular bowel movement in about a week & I can feel it. I feel so bloated. What are some ways to clean myself out? I’d like to stay away from laxatives… What about drinking nothing but prune juice & water today? & no foods
I’d also like to add that I work out a lot, drink about 100 oz water a day, no soda, & get plenty of fiber so idk what’s causing it

Do Laxatives tablets work? can they cleanse the wall of the colon like a colonic? if i did this for five days would this work for a bowl detox?

i dont have any really bad symptoms yet, but ive suffered from chronic constipation ever since i can remember. im 20, i eat pretty good foods, drink lots of fluids (waters, juices, sometimes diet sodas), and work-out regularly. i don’t smoke or drink or do drugs. ive never had any really bad health problems except for this constipation. cancer doesnt run in my family either.
i am afraid to take laxatives because i dont want to get addicted to them.
how much at risk am i to get colon cancer? what can i do to stop being so constipated? ive tried eating lots of fiber and drinking lots of water but it only works sometimes.
please help!

If you overdose on laxatives (which is basically what they make you do) will the tip of your small intestine be inflamed for the colonoscopy the next day?
Thanks!

I’ve been constipated over two weeks now. At first I was having the feeling I really had to go, but when I would sit down it wouldn’t come out. I barely had a single bowel movement where I passed thin, soft stools. My diet consisted of eggs, whole wheat bread/pasta, brown rice, bananas, chicken, steak and at close to a gallon of water everyday. I took two laxatives and nothing.

I saw my doctor briefly, and she said all the foods I’ve been eating are binding and cause constipation. She told me to pick up fiber pills, a stool softener, and a laxative. I had one very brief, watery stool while I was also drinking plenty of water in a short period of time.

This just doesn’t feel like regular constipation. Now I don’t even get the feeling where it’s all rushing to leave my body, like I really have to go to the bathroom.

My stools seemed regular color, no blood, but I hear that’s not in all cases of colon cancer.

Aside from regular constipation, the ONLY other diagnosis I see that has almost every symptom I have is colon cancer.

I’ve had this problem for as long as I can remember, but I’m getting so fed up with it. It’s really starting to take a toll on my life. I constantly feel constipated, to the point that I can’t have any normal bowel movements. I don’t understand because I eat healthy and I exercise, but it doesn’t seem to help. I’ve tried eating more fiber, and it doesn’t seem to make much of a difference. And I’ve tried a sort of bowel cleanse (similar to taking laxatives but not as strong). After a while, I get so constipated that I eventually get really bad diarrhea that becomes almost uncontrollable. When I try to go, its really hard, but when I’m not it seems to want to come out automatically.

It’s a really embarrassing problem and I hate it. I’ve been to the doctor and she told me to start eating more fiber (which I did). She said if I didn’t see any improvements to come back and they’d have to look into giving me colonoscopy and possibly surgery. I’m afraid to go to that length. Does anyone have any advice or any idea what’s causing this and how to treat it?

from the natural cures book..i dont suggest buying it, go to the bookstore, browse through it and take notes..i did it, but there are ways to detox your body and cleanse the body but which ones are recommended.besides juice diets, and taking laxatives.which are healthier and more beneficial?
you guys are hilarious..no its not constipation, its just cleansing my body of toxins, to see if i feel different. i poo fine..and thank you tissa, lol.

This is so hard for me to talk about, but I’ve been having trouble having a bowel movement for the past 5 months now. I eat incredibly healthy, stay away from fast-foods, fried foods, and junk food in general. I eat a lot of fiber to try to make myself go to the restroom more, and drink a lot of water. I’ve tried probiotic yogurt and drinks, colon cleanses, Metamucil fiber pills, i have even had to use laxatives a few times since i hadn’t had a bowel movement in around 5 days..I am now starting these new pills that are supposed to help digestion. They aren’t doing much.
Can you help me figure out what to try to aid in bowel movements, or have you heard of any of these cases before? What do you suggest?
Thank you!

I’ve been interesting in cleansing my body internally for awhile now. I don’t want to visit any clinics or anything and get that huge tube (LOL) but I am interested in taking some supplements or vitamins. I’ve been reading up on Dr. Natura Colonix and although it’s mainly positive, I also seen a lot of negative reviews. But I want to feel healthier and I don’t want my gas or breath to smell bad. I also remember seeing an infomercial on television about a colon cleansing product that seemed very good at removing a lot of the waste in regular bowel movements (nothing like laxatives though). Does anyone know that product or can recommend anything else?
No. This has nothing to do with diet pills or wanting to be thin. I just heard it’s important to cleanse your body every once in awhile with a cleansing that lasts for a few days and not like, months or anything since that’ll take away your body’s nutrients and moisture.

Is Colon Cure any good? Is it like a strong laxative? My grandma bought a sample of it to help with my constipation problem, but I’m a little weary of using it.
I’ve been to the doctors for this too by the way, and they all always say they don’t know.
So I’m trying to find things I can do on my own.
If you have any suggestions besides Colon Cure, I’m very open to hearing them. I need some sort of relief that isn’t laxatives (I hear laxatives aren’t good for you anyway).
I already know I have a problem with my diet; ie. soda, cheese, chips (on a daily basis)
I’ve tried cutting them from my life and lasted about two weeks before I fell into bad habit again. Nothing really changed except that my stool did get softer. Should I have kept going? Would it take long since I have been eating so unhealthy for so long?
Any information is appreciated.
Thank you in advance.

i want to clean my colon. my doctor says laxatives are a short term fix. i want something that is going to last. i have doe so much research on this its ridiculous. everytime i would find something that looks like it would work, i find something else that looks safer. Natura cleanse and Leanspa with acai have been the 2 that look like they work well together. im not looking for a quick fix for weight loss. i KNOW that i am toxic and i need help figuring out which colon cleansers to use. i want to use one in combination with a diet pill also to hl curb y appetite as ive heard it helps with the cleansing process. I ONLY WANT TO HEAR FROM PEOPLE THAT HAVE HAD EXPERIENCE WITH COLON CLEANSING. i dont want someone that has never done one before but only has a strong opinion, cause i know theres alot of those here. so please help…thanks its really greatly appreciated…and sorry for the novel haha.

I’m pretty built. Have a decent amount of muscle on me and I just started doing a really good ab workout. I also go to the gym almost every day with breaks.

Now I do have a little bit of a belly on top of my abs that i’m trying to reveal so I’m thinking taking laxatives for a week ONLY just to lower my stomach size and clean out the intestines. (I also have been eating a lot of fruits and veggies b/c I heard that helps)

Question issssss….will it make me loose muscle mass/size in my arms, chest, legs, back, etc?

So i have been constipated for about two weeks now, and about a month ago i had a bad case of diarrhea. Throughout these two weeks i have been getting these symptoms: clear mucus out of my rectum, pain in my stomach(usually with bowel movement), and hard small stools. When i started using laxatives my stool started coming not as wide as before. i know i should probably see a doctor for this question, but im thinking it is just constipation, and i should simply just change my diet.

my question is, is it possible i have colon cancer?

I have had a lot of trouble trying to receive a prescription for pain meds. Here is my problem. I have some major problems with my bowels and pain. I think I may have a serious bowel condition. It could be Inflammatory bowel disease or crohns disease. I have done research into my symptoms. I could explain, but it can get a little unpleasant. One thing I know for sure is I have some very strong pain from this. Its is intolerable. I have tried everything to fix this problem. Ive tried improving my diet. Adding more fiber, fruits and veggies. I also have increased my fluid intake. Juices and water. Ive also drank more milk. Ive used vitamins. I have tried laxatives, stool softeners and antidiarrheals. I even tried a total bowel cleanse. The kind that they use to prepare for a colonoscopy. I am out of options. cant even have bowel movemnts without some sort of over the counter medication. The visual symptoms are making me worried. (appearance of stool) All of this has been going on for 2 years now. Its has gotten much much worse over the past 6 months. I am at a breaking point.

My current situation is this… I have seen a few different doctors for this. They all are saying that my problems arent very serious. I need to see a specialist. I cant see a gastroenterologist, because my primary doctor will not give me a referall. They will not give me a prescription for pain meds in the mean time. They refuse. This really upsets me, because I feel that they dont trust me. I also think that they wont take me seriously.

heres the thing she wont give me a referral, because she says all they will do is give me a colonoscopy. I cant get a colonoscopy, because my insurance will not cover one. So inorder to take the next step to see if this pain I feel is real, I need to see a GI and have a colonoscopy. At this time, that is not an option.

So what do I do? How do others get a prescription for Pain medication? I feel totally disrespected. Like my feelings arent important. That I dont know what I need. I will be eligible for a better type of insurance in 3 months. In the mean time, I am suffering from a lot of pain.

How can I just get a doctor to help me? I need a prescription for the time being. I understand that they dont just hand out Pain killers to anyone. In this case however, I am a person that genuinely needs the help of pain medication. What can be done? I feel I am so alone and helpless in this situation.

P.S. with my current insurance I can only go to the hospital that I am currently using.

If it will cause colon dependency like other laxatives, it contains Psyllium Husk Powder, Senna, Fennel Seed, Peppermint, Papaya, Buckthorn Bark, Oregon Grape Root, Celery, Milk-Free Acidophilus.
I ask because on the bottle it says to not take it for more than a week just like any other laxative but the guy in the health food store told me i can take it for longer and it won’t cause dependency.
Has anyone ever taken this Super Colon Cleanse, if so, can you tell me what your reactions are to this, I bought the power form.

So im not really worried about my bowel movements but I cant remembered the last time I used the bathroom. Anyways I wanna know a good way to cleanse before MEPS I go tomorrow and I wanna lose a few pounds without using laxatives. So hints on how to make a bowel movement happen would be nice thank you.

This happened to me about 2 years ago and has now reoccurred. I’ve never had very regular bowel movements (maybe once a week max?) but lately, I can tell that I am very stopped up. Sunday around noon, I took three laxatives (the max I was able to take). I also drank about 4 oz. of magnesium citrate. Woke up Monday-nothing had happened.

Monday, I drank the rest of the bottle of MC (6 oz.) and walked and cycled 18 miles and ate a lot of fruit. I had one lousy (small) bowel movement that was extremely hard to get out. (My rectum was bleeding for awhile).

I am still in discomfort and nothing is happening. What do I do to cleanse myself?

So I’ve been constipated for a little over a week and it isn’t getting any better whatsoever. I’ve taken fiber pills daily, but they’re just making me fart a ton during the day and no bowel movement. Laxatives work to make me go but it’ll just work once and then the constipation starts again the next day. I’m considering a colon cleanse but I’m not sure if that’ll just do the same things that the laxatives do?

Pleease help to make my trips to the toilet more regular :)

I seem to have fairly poor digestion. I eat at least 20 grams or more fiber a day, and drink at least 2 liters of water a day. Usually more. And I still seem to have poor bowel movements. I’m not sure what else is causing it. I seem to have a lot of gas, if that helps in figuring it out. I don’t want to have to take laxatives. I want to do this as natural as possible. Would doing a one-time colon cleanse help get things moving normally again? Oh, I also take acidophillus(sp?) and papaya enzyme pills. I don’t get many fruits or veggies, and not a lot of protein. I also do at least a half hour of DDR six days a week. Any ideas on what could be wrong without going to see a doctor? I have no insurance at the moment so I’d like to be a last resort. Thank you.

EDIT: Goofed up and I had to repost. :p Sorry.
Forgot to add I don’t eat fast food, but I do eat canned soup and one Fiber One bar a day. That’s all the processed food I eat.

from the stuck inside me that hasn’t been ‘released’.

I thought about laxatives but would they really clean out my colon or large intestine or whatever??

Im a 16yr old female, btw.

Fiber??

I’m a fourteen year old male. The urologist explained to me it was caused by constipation and that she could feel stools in my ascending colon in my lower right back. I have taken laxatives and eaten at least 30g of fiber for the last five days, but I still have the urinary trouble. I have already missed 10 days of school and I need to go back as soon as possible. My main question is if a colon cleanse will actually help me empty my colon in 2 days?

I have already tried laxatives, laxative w/ stool softeners, and Miralax, is there anything natural I could take or maybe a combination of a few things? I feel bloated all the time and when I do have a bowel movement it seems incomplete. I would like to know how to cleanse my colon, but the natural way.

I really want to do this detox diet and i’ve read a lot about it but I still have a few questions.
1. How long do most people do it for?
2. Can I or should I still workout while doing it?
3. Do you only need to take laxatives to have a bowel movement once at night?
4. I was not going to do the ease-in so do I just start one morning by drinking the lemonade mixture?

If you can answer any of these questions for me it would really help. I really want to start this as soon as I can :)

Prior to a colonoscopy, laxatives are given to completely empty the colon. So, after the procedure, does it sometimes happen that it takes a few days to have a bowel movement?
