Ok, this is kind of embarrassing to ask, but lately my feces have been very small and hard. I’ve completely changed my diet and exercise routine and was wondering if maybe that could be the case. I have cut out a lot of sugars and fats from my diet and have been eating more protein and dairy. I have also been working out everyday and drinking a lot more water. I thought all these changes would actually help make me more "regular" with bowel movements but just the opposite has happened. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Is my body just getting used to my new diet and exercise?
had aspirating pneumonia 2x in the las 3 months, he has never even had pneumonia 1x in his life until now and he is 6 yrs. I was wondering if anyone had an idea of what could be happening? They did change his feedings from pediasure with fiber to ensure plus (it has no fiber) so I thought maybe with his many meds he was getting backed up with his feces. I do give him milk and molasses enemas every 3 to 4 days and miralax when needed but I m not sure if its cleaning him out. The doctors dont have a clue. I tried to start benifiber but even the little amount seems to give him cramps. Any idea and do you think I may be right with my thought of being backed up?oh and a G/J tube is a feeding tube that goes in his stomach and his intestines so there are 2 tubes for feeding. Thanks very much for taking the time, Lisa
He has a hospital bed so I keep him up 24hrs a day , he also is on 60 ml 24hrs a dayfor feeding
My dad whom is 50 has been experiencing some rectal bleeding. He says every time he goes to remove his feces, a handfull of blood comes out with it. He would go to the hospital, but we have no insurance at all to cover the costs and we are low-middle class. How bad is it? What can we do? He says he is dizzy, and he says it’s probably blood loss. He has for a while experienced pain near the abdomen, if that is any help. HELP ME!
This has been going on for a couple of weeks now. Today I also had some blood (not tons, but enough to make me concerned) in my feces, more than I’ve ever had before. The pelvic pain is on my left side above my hip towards the middle. The rectal pain is really sharp and will make me stop in my tracks, but it only lasts a few seconds. It just started today. I scheduled an appointment with my gyno, but the soonest appt they have is almost 3 weeks from now. Does anyone have any ideas as to what this may be or if I will need to seek medical care sooner? Thank you in advance.
I am a 29 year old overweight male. I’ve always had the ability to have a healthy, good sized bathroom break. For about the last week or so, I’ve been eating normally, but I’ve only really had explosive diarrhea, or watery bowel movements with a little bit of soft feces, and a liquid floating on top. The last time I tried to go I ended up passing a small piece of what looked like those sales pictures you see for colon cleanse products. It looked like tripe (cow stomach) you see on the grocery store shelves. I haven’t had the urge to go at all in the past 2 days, but I made myself try to a few minutes ago. After straining almost to the point of passing out, I passed a small, hard grey/green colored clay-like stool.
I’m worried I may be developing, or already have a bowel obstruction, and the diarrhea is squeezing past that. From what I’ve read it could also be IBS (which I am not diagnosed with yet). I am able to pass gas (and a lot of it), but that seems to be all I’m passing lately. Should I worry? To go from one extreme (diarrhea) to the other (severe constipation) doesn’t seem right.
I also have mild stinging pains radiating around my stomach, similar to what I would have before/after having a bout of diarrhea, but nothing seems to want to come out.
I’m freaking out about this and cant even sleep or calm down, so any help would be appreciated. I will call a doctor when they open but until then, I’ll be worrying my butt off.
A few more tidbits that will help this scenario. I have recently had a fistula and abcess that was removed from the outer part of my anus. The infection was caused by feces imbedded in my colon and resulted in a very painful surgery and recovery. I rarely make bowel movements *2-3 during a full week normally* and have gone up to 2 weeks without a movement at all. When I do have BM’s, they are usually ribbon-like and cause discomfort, afterwhich I feel like I have not passed all of it and usually go to the bathroom multiple times during that day, although I make no progress after the initial movement. The fissure I am guessing, was caused from the ‘aftermath’ when I make BM’s. When I feel like I have not evacuated completely, I sit, and unintentionally strain, *muscles react as if I were vomiting*. Honestly, my diet is atrosious. Fast food, Hot pockets, Pizza, things of that nature are my normal meals. Hope this helps.
I’ll start off with some background info: I am 24 yrs old and had a baby 15 months ago. Prior to having my daughter, I have had my moments where I’ve lost a lot of weight and got to a point where I could run a mile and a half but that’s exactly what they were….moments…for the most part I haven’t really been in the best shape I could be in. Since having my daughter my lifestyle has gotten much more unhealthy. I am up 60 lbs from pre-pregnancy weight (that just jerked a tear out of me) and can’t exercise like I used to be able to. I don’t eat many fruits and veggies and I am classified as "extremely obese." I do a lot of yo-yo exercising (start for a little while then stop for a long while) and to make matters worst, most of my weight is in my mid-section. When I had my last physical (5 years ago) I had borderline cholesterol (that was about 50lbs ago so I wouldn’t be surprised if I tipped the scale by now). I am absolutely sick and tired of this lifestyle and I know that if I continue on this route I probably won’t be around to see my grandchildren. I have decided to become a raw foodist and am in the process of doing all my research before I begin.
So here’s my question: I have very little energy and elimination problems. I know it is because of all the toxins that are in my body due to my poor diet and lack of fiber. They say the average person is walking around with 10-15 lbs of feces in them so I feel that I probably have twice or thrice that amount. I really want to completely detoxify my body and colon before beginning my new diet. I don’t know if I should buy some type of detox program or just start the diet and let it do its job.
Your suggestions are appreciated.
Im sorry to keep being so worried probably about simple things but something really concerned me today. Ive had constipation problems (due to an unhealthy diet) since i was 2. I dont think ive ever had a regular bowel movement. Anyway i was constipated for 3 weeks and after getting it out just changed my diet to more fiber fruits and vegitables. For a couple days now my BMs have been mushy because of the diet change, but today i had a BM like usual soft and mushy. then i went to have my 2nd one later at usual time but this time it was just small pieces of feces that were soft. Same thing happend when i had my 3rd one. What could this mean? Im i getting constipated again?

Mercedes, I appreciate your answer but I disagree that eating raw is just a fad. There are people who have been doing it for years and years and its NOT something new. Also, this is not "a diet" for me, this is what I want my diet to be for the rest of my life.
Also, I got down to 160lbs once and during that time I did a detox program and the benefits of it were obvious and undeniable. My acne that I have had all my life cleared up, I had an amazing amount of energy and didn’t feel hungry at all. I just didn’t stick with it and eventually reverted back to my old ways.
There has been a hereditary problem on my father’s side that’s been transferred down to me. Its just mere difficulty going #2. At first i would have to push, but now it feels like the (sphincter?) i guess you could call it is always half closed. This makes going to the bathroom even harder because now i HAVE to push. Even when I’m expelling gas i feel that space limitation. When i went to the doctor for this problem the doctor felt my lower left side and said that she could feel the stool. I felt it too, but at that moment i felt like nothing was there. I didn’t even have to go to the bathroom. I have frequent stomach aches and i’m unnaturally skinny. I sometimes go a week without going to the bathroom(#2). My father belives i’m so skinny because my intestines can’t take the nutrients from rotted feces so it’s a never ending cycle and i never get the nutrients i need. I’m only pushing out old feces, and the new feces that should be coming out stays inside me and becomes old feces. My doctor recommended an enema, suppositories, or just a change in diet(eating more fiber). I just want to feel "cleansed" I don’t like feeling sick all the time. Has anyone had these type of problems and if so what did you do about it.
also could this be possible why my voice hasn’t fully matured yet? I’m a 17 year old male.
i know this is a little tmi but i had spots of bright red blood on tissue, none on my feces just on the tissue and only a spot or two …should i see a doctor, i have some pain but not alot, not sure if i cut myself when using restroom should i go to the doctor?
a) The food would not fully digest
b)the feces would be eliminated by diarrhea
c) The body couldn’t eliminate the any wastes
d) The Appendix might become inflamed.
Over the course of weeks, I like to see how long I can go without pooping. I broke my record with 42 days, but the bloating felt so strong that it was time to release some feces. I ventured into my outhouse and let it all explode out. Unfortunately, a rather big segment of my large intesting came out with it, and began dangling out of my butt. What should I do, cut it with scissors?
Lately, I feel like my colon is going to fall out through my butt! The feces is a dark brown color – not black – but, like, dark dark brown. And Im pretty sure there are some strands of tissue. I can see flecks of blood on them. Im sure of it.
Also, I find that Im constantly switching from loose to constipated. Not diarreha loose, just not really wanting to stay together, but is, by the grace of the poop god.
Help, por favor.
Please help!
What is the mechanism for moving gas to the anus for expulsion? What keeps it from staying disseminated throughout the feces?
For the past year or so, I get intense pain whenever I am on my period. The pain is definetely coming from my rectum area. It is a sharp pain and I can feel my feces trying to pass through. I do not have the urge to go when this happens. I think it is the feces passing from the large intestine to the colon, but I can't be sure. What is causing this? Should I see my doctor? Could it be IBS or endometriosis? The pain is getting worse and when I get it, I just feel like keeling over and falling on the floor because it hurts so bad.
