I have been diagnosed with Irritable Bowel Syndrome and the doctors told me to be on a high fiber diet which worked at 1st and now has stopped working and then on Zelnorm which also worked at 1st but no longer works. Does any have any other recommendations? I have an appt with a natural medicine doctor next week.
I’ve tried suppositories, creams, stool softeners, numbers, and nothing seems to make my pain go away! I tried to go to a free clinic but I was turned away last time because they didn’t have enough doctors and they only have them on Mondays. Afterward, I went to the hospital and they said I had thrombosed hemorrhoids and he gave me some stool softeners and some ointment. It’s not working. He said to follow up with a colon & rectal surgeon if the pain persists, but I am 20 years old and I don’t have health insurance. I don’t know what health insurance I should get and I don’t make much money either. I’m so stressed and confused. I just want some help with my pain but it seems like I can’t get it treated. =( I hate going to use the toilet because it hurts so much.
Plus I think it’s not just hemorrhoids, I think I may also have an anal fissure and possibly something else. What do I do?
I have had a bad cough, Inflamed lungs, wheezing big time for the past 6 months and have been bleeding out my ass and also have….. light kidney pain and liver pain and always have achy muscles. The kidney and liver pain I have had for like the past 4 years but only once and awhile like every 3 or 4 months and have occasionally bleeding, but every time I start wheezing really bad and my lungs get inflamed I get rectal bleeding really bad!!!!! I went to the doctors 3 times they said I had had a cold second time a cold maybe bronchitis and asthma second time sad I had asthma flare but They WERE not sure and said I need to go to a different clinic. I never told the doctors about the bleeding and liver/kidney pain, I NEVER WENT BACK, Because Its really expensive and cant afford it.
CAN ANYONE TELL ME WHAT IT IS

My father is 56 yrs old, and he has just been diagnosed with colon cancer. The size of the tumor is the size of a golf ball. It was caught early, i was told anyways. He went in to see if the cancer had spread and had a full body ct scan done and they found a cyst that is the size of the top part of your thumb. The dr.s believe it is cancer. My father did have hepatitus b once before because of the vietnam war. Also has high blood pressure, and thats his only health issues. He is 5-10, 170wt. My dad tells me little, i looked on internet and it sounds like Metastatic liver disease except that he has not had any of the symptoms yet. My ? is what is fixen to happen, what is his chances of surviving all of this, and how long. Please no b.s. I would really like to know from some doctors on here or someone with experience. They did a biopsy on the colon tumor and it came back inconclusive, but the doctors said that they believe it may be cancer. What do u think?
i know its probably not common, but my mom only weighs like 85 lbs so maybe i just get a really small thin frame from her or could i have internal problems? i workout and have lots of energy and feel great. i even have some pretty nice overall muscle definition and large bicepts, i dont quite have a 6pack yet but im getting there. i dont get how i can weigh so little, especially having muscle too, i thought muscle was heavy.
oh, and i know ill probably get 10 answers saying go see a doctor, i did and he saw me for about 5 seconds and said i was fine. doctors are a waste of time. i want some second opinions on here. thanks alot
i recall reading that eating lots of meat and processed food can make your organs work harder, enlarging them and making them weigh more, and eating a typical american diet can really clog you up with an extra 30-40 lbs lining your intestines.
i only eat clean healthy food i grow in my garden so maybe this has something to do with it?
so im 11, im an okay weight but i wanna lose about 30lbs….in about 2-4 months, but healthily
NO STINKEN ACIE BERRY OR COLON CLEANSE or any of that stupid stuff that could possibly harm my body in some physical, or mentally way, i dont wanna end up in a hospital…..i want to lose this weight by a normal good diet to follow, you know, like 500-1,200 calories a day, and some excersizes. but i dont know what kind or anything, i want something i can write down, hang on my wall and follow every day, im doing this for me
im 5ft0
130lbs, and wanna be 95lbs before 5 months
so heres my "now" routine:
breakfast:nothing(sometimes some chips)
lunch:nothing cus i wake up so late unless school days i have a turkey sandwich
dinner:salad, or something
i usually over eat in between like 500calorie snacks, and i stopped eating for a day but i literally almost cried when i saw food and like mentally exploded, and began eating more than normal.
i have a small frame….but waaaayyyy overweight
i need alot of help before i go to the doctors again, cus i gotta see my weight, and wanna be real thin
NOONE TELL ME TO STOP EATING AND BECOME AN ANOREXIC, ID NEVER BE THAT INSANE!!!
so please be nice to me!
oh and im a vegetarian, so i dont have turkey sandwich, i have pb&j, see im goin crazy LOL
I’ve always been scared to go to doctors and them telling me i need some kind of surgery!!!! Sooooo here’s my problem. I was constipated for about a week. I tried to use the restroom and had rectal bleeding (bright red) my friend told me about Colace, she said it would help A LOT and it will make it easier to pass the stool. I did and about two days later i used the restroom and it was fine. No bleeding no pain no problem. This was lets say last thursday. I haven’t pooped since then and It is now friday, but i still have been taking the colace twice a day like instructed on the label. I had to use the restroom but i couldn’t stool was still hard
and i had rectal bleeding again (scares me) label on Colace says to stop taking if rectal bleeding occurs. What should i do?
PS. I used to eat out A LOT and a lots of junk and almost NO WATER and never had a problem. Now that i’ve been trying to change my diet and eat healthier, and drink A LOT OF WATER this happens. WHAT TO DO.?
And if you can tell me what to do to stop the bleeding, without having to go to the doctors since this has never really happend to me before i dont know if i NEED to go… or if it will just pass. If anything else helps make it better I WOULD BE SO HAPPY! thanks :] (im such a scary cat!) :/
She is 79 yrs old. After surgery they did not remove the large mass on her sigmoid colon because it was to vascular to remove and she would more than likely bleed to death if they tried. It will be one week since her surgery and she is still very very weak, gets out of breath with us daughters helping her to bathroom. Even when they gave her a portable pottychair to use she gets severely cold and clammy, extramely nausous, shivers, very rapid heartbeat, and has a hard time taking a breath. When she tries to speak to us during these attacks of her sitting up moving around, she is so winded and it takes so much just to finish a single sentence. Mom is very anemic and her heme count dropped to a 7.2 she will not accept any blood transfusuions due to her beliefs religious wise and the past few days docs given her iron pills and that has raised her count to a 9.4 but its still low…. Her tummy is still so very bloated and her urin output is not that much even though they are pumping her with several IV fluid bags. Could it be the cancer is just wiping her out she is not on any chemo yet. We are trying to figure out WHY she is so winded, weak and slightly feverish at times … clammy, chills… Could it be her heart they have not noticed yet?.. OR is this a common reaction after this type of surgery? We are aware that the Doctors told us without the surgery, she probly wouldnt have lived more than 2 weeks. But since she had the surgery, it may extend her time who knows.. is this symptoms of the end her weakness?? They placed her on a clear diet but she does not eat any of that.. no broth jello or anything but a sip of water or two thats it. she has been without food for 14 days now… but what can we do or possibly suggest to the doctors do to help her in this situation? Cancer has masestize to her liver and lungs i forgot to mention above. Anyone who has had a loved one with the same symptoms that she is going through please let me know how I can help her, what can we do, and how much longer did they live after going through these symptoms after surgery? I want to keep her as long as possible but I need to make her as comfy as possible. I wonder why her tummy is swelling up again??? Anybody with ideas or experience I apreciate your help. God Bless
had aspirating pneumonia 2x in the las 3 months, he has never even had pneumonia 1x in his life until now and he is 6 yrs. I was wondering if anyone had an idea of what could be happening? They did change his feedings from pediasure with fiber to ensure plus (it has no fiber) so I thought maybe with his many meds he was getting backed up with his feces. I do give him milk and molasses enemas every 3 to 4 days and miralax when needed but I m not sure if its cleaning him out. The doctors dont have a clue. I tried to start benifiber but even the little amount seems to give him cramps. Any idea and do you think I may be right with my thought of being backed up?oh and a G/J tube is a feeding tube that goes in his stomach and his intestines so there are 2 tubes for feeding. Thanks very much for taking the time, Lisa
He has a hospital bed so I keep him up 24hrs a day , he also is on 60 ml 24hrs a dayfor feeding
Wednesday, my dad found my uncle in his home after not hearing from him since Monday, dead on the floor. He had rectal bleeding from what we are not sure. My mom went inside and found a notebook in which my uncle had listed all his doctors, his sons from his previous marriage, his bank account numbers, his birth certificate and a few other personal things. On the floor beside him, was a lot of pills but there was an assortment. He lay on the floor holding his side which means he had some kind of pain. My dad had mentioned that he had been saying before that if anything was to happen to him, for my dad to take care of everything. And my uncle’s girlfriend said he spoke as if he knew something was going to happen to him. Do you think he committed suicide or died from one of these diseases; ulcerative colitis of the colon, degenerate disces of spine, hypertension, or enlarged prostate.
We are going to have an autopsy done, but we are waiting until we can contact all his kids and get ahold of his insurance policy to see who is the beneficiary so my dad can use that money instead of the money out his pocket(he’s had to bury 2 of his other brothers and his dad so he doesn’t really have the extra money to throw away). We understand and he’s going to get an autopsy done, but if they begin doing it, we will have to pay.
If so what are the symptoms i’m not sure if my son has IBS i just wanted to check, before i take him to the doctors.
Thanks essentaillysolo to me he has all those symptoms i will take him to the doctors to see what can be done.
I just had a quick question involving MEPS? When I am getting a medical evaluation and tell them I recently had a colonoscopy and endoscopy for abdominal pains could that eliminate me from joining the military? I don’t see how it could because the doctors who conducted the colonoscopy said that it was nothing. I personally think it’s lactose intolerance or stress. But could that reduce my chances of joining?
I have been doing a lot of research on the so called "Mucoid Plaque" to find out how valid the claim is. All the answers all seem so black and white. We’ve got Doctors on both sides of the spectrum. Some argue that there is mucoid plaque and that it is very dangerous to have inside of us while others totally dismiss any possibility of it. It seems like either way, someone is trying to make money off of us. I really want to know what people think and if there are any Doctors (Naturopath or Modern) out there that have any advice, input, etc. I am thinking about doing a colon cleanse but keep reading about how dangerous these cleanses can be. I have also heard from people who have the mucoid plaque without being on a cleanse or fiber, etc. How does one explain that? I am neutral right now, I just want more opinions before I decide to do a cleanse or not. Logic tells me that mucoid plaque would exist in the "western diet", but I really have no idea. Either way, is it best to take my chances by not having a cleanse or to be safe than sorry and go with a cleanse?
(FYI, I eat really healthy and exercise regularly and find myself plugged up and bloated all the time. I have tried everything short of a cleanse)
Back in mid october I went to the hospital for attempted suicide. I had convinced myself that I had colon cancer and that I was going to die. The reason I thought this was because I was having constant diarehha and when ever I didn’t have diarehha my stools were very thin. There was no blood or anything like that. The doctors did a x-ray of my colon and abdomin etc and they said there was no tumor or polyp or anything like that, but they didn’t tell me what the problem was. So I was releaved and went home without knowing what was wrong with me… Ever since then I’ve still had diarehha on and off and my stools are very thin 98% of the time. And the day after valentines My stool was RED and I freaked out! My girlfriend told me to calm down because she used a buttload of red food coloring in these cupcakes that she made me so I didn’t think anything of it. Then again on monday I have RED stools and diarehha. The day before I had hot wings and that morning I had some left over red velvet cake. My doctor assured me last month that it’s not cancer because i’m very young and he feels no mass in my lower abdomin and such. My main question here is could colon cancer have developed since october? I’m 19 years old, there is no history of it in my family that I know of, but I have a very poor diet. Please help, I’m scared out of my mind and I can’t take it anymore.

Say you had a symptom of colon cancer maybe 4 years ago, but then 4 years later you feel fine, energetic and still feel good and healthy even after hard days labor, have a good appetite, no nausea or fatigue, etc and still have the same normal weight is it a good chance that you dont really have the cancer? Or would the symptoms actually get worse if you really had the cancer? Reason i ask is because 4 years ago i saw blood in my stool ( which i did go to the doctor and it turns out i have a pilondial cyst which bleeds periodically) I was 18 at the time and now im 22, and even tho i went to the doctor I was still so scared about this, he assured me i was fine, but since im pessimistic it still has been in the back of my mind for the past 4 years that I think about it all the time. Since then iv become obsessed witht he consistancy and frequency of bowel movements etc, and have also become more anxious and nervous ever since. Physically i have no other symptoms and I havent really had anything else aside from occasional gas, etc but nothing persistant. I did a colon cleansing and that seemed to work and increased my bowel frequency. Lately though iv been very nervous and my bowel movements though normal, feel like htey are smaller than usual when i go. Is this cause of my nervousness? Iv been to the doctor and he says its just in my head because i think about it all the time, but i still say that ever since i seen the blood in my stool, even though the pilondial cyst was doing it, I still get worried. Physically i feel fine. I work a physically gruelling job 40 hours a week, sometimes 9 hours a day and i have alot of energy, I eat alot, and my weight has been the same since i can remember, the only thing is that I get extremely anxious and nervous and i still cant seem to stop worrying. I figure that if i really would have had a cancer for this long i might feel sicker , but im still not assure, nothing ever puts me to ease, not even a doctors word.
Is there anyone out there that has, knows someone or anything about complete loss of sperm production from having a 3 inch tumor removed from the colon? My husband had this surgery and after had no ejaculate at all. All the doctors have really told us is "maybe its nerve damage…we dont really know". There was NO discussion before hand that this complication was a possibility. So it was a complete shock to us when we discovered this. We have been to a fertility clinic and spent some serious cash trying to recover some sperm to have children. But everything has failed. We are left with this big Void never knowing if we will be able to have kids. Im looking for anyone else out there that may of gone through the same thing, or at least shed a little info on his condition.
Also, we have seen a urologist. Doctors have given us the impression that nerve damage is definitely a possibility. But only after the fact.
Also none of the doctors really seem to think its a big deal that its caused infertility. They treat it like its just a scratch and are like "oh well"
He is being treated at the Michael E. Debakey VA hospital in houston. They have not told us yet how aggressive or what treatment options are. What do the chances of battling this and winning look like? Please only doctors or nurses
Is Colon Cure any good? Is it like a strong laxative? My grandma bought a sample of it to help with my constipation problem, but I’m a little weary of using it.
I’ve been to the doctors for this too by the way, and they all always say they don’t know.
So I’m trying to find things I can do on my own.
If you have any suggestions besides Colon Cure, I’m very open to hearing them. I need some sort of relief that isn’t laxatives (I hear laxatives aren’t good for you anyway).
I already know I have a problem with my diet; ie. soda, cheese, chips (on a daily basis)
I’ve tried cutting them from my life and lasted about two weeks before I fell into bad habit again. Nothing really changed except that my stool did get softer. Should I have kept going? Would it take long since I have been eating so unhealthy for so long?
Any information is appreciated.
Thank you in advance.

Is it safe to take liver cleansing supplements and colon cleansing supplements? If so, is there a certain brand you recommend? What exactly is in the supplement that is effective? Is it possible to overdose? I am a 20 yr old female with irregular bowel movements and occational nausea. My stomach is often uncomfortable and bloated (even when I’m not on my period), and I’m wondering if it would help to take colon cleansing supplements. Every now and then, maybe every 2-3 months, I get so nauseous for an hour or so and then I vomit. After I vomit I feel better but I still feel exhausted so I usually go to sleep afterwards. I already exercise, drink plenty of water, and eat healthy, but nothing I do seems to work. My doctor says there is nothing she can do because there is no consistency and there doesn’t seem to be a certain food that triggers it so she can’t diagnose anything. Also, I don’t know if this is relevant but sometimes if I’m hungry I get dizzy. If I dont eat enough I get very fatigued and sometimes dizzy. I’m 5’4" and about 108 lbs. That is a healthy weight for my body type. Just to clarify, I don’t starve myself, I always try to make sure I’ve eaten enough. Thanks
I have went through a colonoscopy an was told i have scar tissue from other surgeries I had years ago an this is what was causing me to have trouble an pain in my left side,I also have one aretery vein malformation so the doctor put me on some medicine called glycolax which is not working to good at all, I haven’t been back to doctor since I haven’t had luck with the med ,but I was wondering if there is a way doctors can remove scar tissue in this area without a colon resection? For as the AVM I was told this is just something I inheretied because my mom does have it an I was wondering if this would cause problems having surgerie to remove scar tissue? After the colon scope the doctor ask my mother if I had a surgeon an she said no an then when I talked to him he said well lets try a low residue diet an this medicine glycolax an keep him informed on how it does, and he said no doctor no surgeon in his town would want to touch it so now I’m confused !
has to go through 6 months of chemotherapy. How awful is that? Now will the drugs make her very sick? Or will the doctors give her anti-nausea medication. That is a long time to be on "CHEMO." The cancer was in 3 of the 12 lymph nodes. She is around 50 or 60. I do not ask age due to it is personal.
Ok so I’m 16 years old.. 5’9, 84 kilos, I don’t drink or smoke, I’ve been on a healthy diet for months now so I’m sure it isn’t cause of eating bad.
I once did a lemon detox cleanse to remove toxins ??
I can’t go toilet properly now and then .. I was told I had inflammed bowel movement by my doctor ..
I’m taking weight loss pills ATM, but it’s not cause of them cause this pain happened a couple of times before I started taking them.
I’ve been on crash diets, and other crazy diets too ..
So twice or so every week I get this horrible pain in my right kidney.
It’s usually after I finish showering on a hot day,
Or when I leave the air conditioner on overnight while I’m asleep.
This pain is so horrible !! It really hurts, it goes on for about 5-10
Minutes and I have to hold my breath and tense my body for as much as possible cause it stops the pain..
it just hurts more and more everytime it occurs … Idk what it could be?!
Kidney stones ?? Kidney failure?? Idk . But I’m scared if it is :/
I’m going doctors soon cause the pain has gotten 10x worse and I can’t handle it anymore, so ye I just wanted a few opinions before stopping by at the docs.
Thx
My husband was diagnosed with colon cancer in November of 2007, which spread to his liver, Stage IV. His cancer marker was 349 and the doctors said he could expect to live 6 months, that his cancer would probably not respond well to chemo. After 6 chemo treatments, his cancer marker came way down to 101, but no one will tell us he can now expect to live years instead of months. Anyone know what we should expect?
