MY symptoms:
6 mos ago i had ankle surgery. I was off my feet and on my butt for 2 straight mos with no walking. While recovering from the injury, i began to diet. Hardcore diet. I was over 400 pounds. I’ve lost 95 of them in the last 6 mos.
Within a couple weeks of starting the diet and being on my butt…. i had one single episode of fecal incontinance. After this, i began to have constipation, or diareeha, and blood on the toilet paper (possibly from strain)….or possibly from something worse. I also began to have a dull pain at the lower area of my tailbone, which becomes significant when im sitting.
The bleeding went away after about 2 mos, but the pain in the tailbone has not. I still have diareeah sometimes. Mostly after long periods of sitting, which also brings on the tailbone pain.
I went to the doctor a month ago. She thinks that it has to do with complications from my diet / surgery recovery and lack of physical activity. She thinks that the fact that im not even 30 yrs old, dont have a family history of cancer, and the coincidence that im on a huge diet and recovering from surgery ALL PLAY TOO MUCH A ROLE, to really consider colon cancer. But….she ordered me to have a fecal-blood-occult test, anyways.
It came back fine. She thinks im ok. But….why has the tailbone pain continued, and why do i sometimes still have diareeah after periods of painful sitting? Could i have cancer? Im pretty worried. Any thoughts or info ?

I put this in the Health-Diseases and Conditions section as well.

Okay, I’ve been reading around and have found a few things saying that meat stays into your intestines for a lot longer than other foods because it is so hard to digest. I have become a vegetarian now for a little over 2 months. About the end of Jan. I started having gas, an upset stomach, cramping and diarrhea. I was told since I was eating for things with fiber in them, and a healthier diet my body was just getting rid of the meat in my system, and cleansing my body. I’m starting to wonder about it now though. I sometimes don’t even feel like I’m about to have a bowel movement, and I do anyways. The movements are not that normal either. They are liquid-like, and have a larger odor that usual.

I don’t know what kinds of foods have a lot of fiber in them to begin with, but even so…is this normal? I mean it has been about two and a half weeks of this. It is not getting any better…I don’t quite understand. Thanks

Ok, i am 19 and i want to start by saying, i am a huge hypochondriac. If i hear someone talk about an illness, that part of my body immediately starts to feel uncomfortable. But this time something is wrong. I have recently had bright red blood in the toilet bowl, as well as when i wipe. I few months ago, i weight about 200 pounds and i should weight about 170. I found out a had an under active thyroid and along with the meds i started to excercise and i lost 30 pounds in 2 months. Now i am worried the weight loss was not from my hard work but from colon cancer. It is the summer and there is nothing to do, so i have become really bored. The boredom has brought on mild depression which has made me more tired then usual. Now i fear i am tired because of cancer. I am freaking out. Seriously i can watch a movie where a killer disembowels a bunch of kids but if my grandma talks about arthritis my feet start to hurt like hell and i get queasy. My aunt had colon cancer but she is unhealthy. She smoked (until she got it), is overweight, and has a terrible diet and she is like 60. Please help me, if the colon cancer does not kill me i will worry until i give myself ulcers. I get a blood test every month to test my thyroid and as of now everything else is normal. What do you think…..am i just going insane?

Hey, so I decided that I wanted to take like a colon cleansing or detox sort of product to kick start my diet and excerise plan, does anybody have any idea which ones are good and which was scams?! Because there are so many scam ones that claim to make you lose weight and celebrities are using it and so on, but I much more interested in actually cleaning my colon from toxins and helping regulate my digestive track. If anyone has any input that would be so helpful!

Does Acai Berry work? do you really also need the colon cleanse?

How much weight have you lost and how long did it take on this diet?

Is this safe to do? I’m 18. I’m taking prozac, ritalin, & concerta. I have Leaky Gut Syndrome, so I’m doing a colon cleanse. I’m starting a new diet for Leaky Gut as well. I’ll be taking supplements later on. Will taking these medications have any effect on my colon cleansing? thank u for your help.

I was told that you can do a colon, kidney, and bladder cleansing by doing this two day diet. Day 1 8am drink 16 oz organic apple cier vinegar and then every two hours drink 8oz of it with your last drink being at 8 pm(no food). Day 2 8am drink 8oz and then every two hours drink 8oz with you last drink being at 6pm. Then at 8 pm mix 4tbs of olive oil and 8oz organic orange juice and drink.
Has anyone ever heard of this or does anyone know any other home remedies for colon cleasing (without enemas)?

I am doing a 30 day juicing cleanse/diet.. ITS SOOOO HARD! i have been doing very well however i was wondering if i could have chicken broth as a suppliment? and if not why. Its only been 5 days since i started and the hunger isnt that bad. it comes and goes in waves.. but i have 4 kids that i have to feed and the temptation is so strong. I think having a cup of chicken broth would help me get through that urge to tast food again. or atleast add some virity to my tounge.. if you have any info or advice i would really appreciate it. also after five days juicing should i be having a bowel movement. because i havent since the first day. thanks again so much!!

So i have been constipated for about two weeks now, and about a month ago i had a bad case of diarrhea. Throughout these two weeks i have been getting these symptoms: clear mucus out of my rectum, pain in my stomach(usually with bowel movement), and hard small stools. When i started using laxatives my stool started coming not as wide as before. i know i should probably see a doctor for this question, but im thinking it is just constipation, and i should simply just change my diet.

my question is, is it possible i have colon cancer?

the diet im on says to do a body cleanse once a week… i like the rest of the diet bc its easy and im seeing results… just not sure about the cleanse…. i have heard a lot about detoxing your body what is that and what does it do and do you suggest it? the "body cleanse" is eating a lot of fiber on saturday to clean out your intestines… this means im going to poop alot huh? great way to spend a saturday!!
its called 8 minutes in the morning.. to a flat belly.. but there are different ones… i can see my tummy getting flatter… and if you like veggies its good you still get to eat what you want and you eat every three hours… which is good for me because i love to snack… i love the "birds eye" veggies the ones that you microwave.. i got a bunch of those and some small meats and thats my meals… really easy!! and snacks you can have small variations of things you love… the exercise takes between 8 and 12 minutes (depending on warm up and cool down.) i have been on it for a week and i feel better and my tummy looks better. Im losing baby fat which i think has been the hardest to lose… my daughter is 9 months and i have been trying different diets for about 6 months and this one has been the best so far!!

I was 121.2 and 5’4, female, and I broke my diet for dinner and I have school tomorrow and I’m afaird I’m going to be all bloated and fat on my stomach and face for tomorrow, what to do? (

I have colon cleanse, should I do that?

ate big deal with lots of starch and had rich ice cream

starting a diet<3 i weigh 136 only wanna lose about 10 pounds and it seems to be all belly weight i read that you should detox your colon although im wondering if possible to just use a laxative?
im not cleansing because of drugs i dont drink or do drugs……eewww im starting a diet as i just said above i wanna lose belly weight

I’m 18 years old and I am not in bad shape, but I have a fast metabolism and eat terribly. I don’t gain weight and yet I can consume 2 Big Mac’s, a Fry, Large Coke in one sitting. However, I know this type of dieting is inevitably damaging. Although there is no visual effect to my eating habits as of this far, I know in the long run this is not healthy and I want to change.

I don’t want an expensive, supplemented diet that utilizes enemas and such, but I want to know of a stable diet such as a good combination of fruits, vegetables, and juices/water on a daily basis, in what amounts of consumption, and in what variety. Thank you. I am on a budget, I just want some guidance as to what beneficial diet would fit me.

P.S Please no colon cleansers, excessive supplements, or enemas and extremities of that nature, just food and natural remedies only.

Thank you very much in advance.

I already eat practically a perfect diet, consisting of mainly fruits, veggies, nuts, beans, whole grains, and probiotics. I also exercise, however, I’m still not as thin as I’d like to be. Would purchasing a quality colon cleanser from Whole Foods do the trick? I also want to start drinking prune juice regularly. How effective are colon cleansers? What was your experience with them?

I am 9 week pregnant and sorry for tmi but have not had a good bowel movement the past two days. It’s making me feel terrible. I have some natural colon cleanse pill that just help keep you regular but I wasn’t sure if it was okay to take them while pregnant. I did not have this problem with my first child. Nice answers please! (:
My diet is very healthy actually..I eat a lot of fiber enriched foods. Thanks anyways, Marilyn….

I’m in the process of doing a diet but first want to do a colon cleanse. I want to clean out my system before dieting. Which colon cleanser works best and helps you lose weight too?

Im 16 years old and have been chronically constipated for almost a year. I think its mainly my diet. My parents always go out eating at restaurants and I dont go, and they usually get me FAST FOOD. Or they will cook tv dinners. Ive tried excersising but I get discussed about my weight and sometiems i fine it doesnt work. I know im probably not getting enough fiber. I have to take milk of magnesia to relieve it. Sometimes ill poo but itll come out hard or medium sized plops. Or ill start feeling heavy or fatique or cant think straight. After I take milk of magnesia to get the guck out I feel better.

I was thinking about trying a colon cleanser, maybe it will clean my colon? I started walking last wednesday. 30 minutes to an hour everyday. I also took some fiber tablets, "benefiber"

Should I try a diet with more fruits and veggys? Or should I try a colon cleanser and start fresh with fruits? Like clean my system and start new?
i am ALWAYS overeating or gulping my food down. Im also overweight which explains my lack of excersise.

I did some research and found that Bowtrol seemed like the best colon cleanse for what I was looking for. It didn’t come with any instructions other than "take 3-8 per day at bedtime starting with three and work your way up. For most 4-5 is a good maximum."……..
So, I started, not really changing my diet too much. I realize that it works best if you eat only fruit and veggies, but do you have to so that it will work? How long should I do it? Also, I have been feeling really tired since I started, is this normal?

Can a really bad diet cause constipation? I’ve had chronic constipation my whole life, the docs see nothing wrong with the structure of my colon. But not too long ago I started thinking, my whole life, my diet has sucked. No veggies, no fruits, no water…. Yeah, we only buy what our mom likes, so our diet is usually not very good. Could my diet be causing this problem I’ve had my whole life?

its my second pregnancy i had a misscarriage with the first pregnancy but lately ive been really constipated and i know its bad to push is their aanythingi can include in my daily diet that will make me have soft bowel movements daily or is it ok for me to take laxative just once as to cleanse my colon?

Okay..
Im not going to tell you my whole story about why I need to know.
So basically, I want to know on this website:

http://consumer-warning.net/diet/?t202id=621&t202kw=9lbswkly-diet

It talks about taking acai berry and some colon cleanser pills. So does this mean you take both? Or Im confused.. I know this may seem obvious to you, but please be nice.
Also, do they sell acai berry or the colon cleanser pills (unless its a pill thats a colon clenser AND has acai berry in it) in stores?
What stores should I look for it at?
Maybe vitamin world?
Thank you :)

Hey guys,
I’ve had acne since I was a teenager. Was diagnosed as having candida overgrowth in NOvember, so did the diet for that and it’s now gone, but my acne is still there. My naturopath says I’m very toxic. Apparently colon cleanse works, but I have no idea where to start or whether it may be dangerous? Has anyone got any advice?
Thanks!

for the past month or so i’ve been getting weird pains in my mons pubis area. the pain sometimes spreads to my labias, but not around or in the vaginal opening. the pain feels like the muscle ripping, but it’s not that painful. it doesnt stop me from going by my normal day, i’m just worried lol! it only last for a few seconds, 10 seconds max, and happens around 2-5 timesa a day. some days its worse than others. i also get a sharp pain around my anus hole (lol) and my butt cheeks at the same time, although this is a sharp pain, different to the mons pubis pain. its hard to describe sorry…. if it was just pain, like ‘one of those things’ i wouldnt care, the pain doesnt really disturb me, i just worry incase its something bad!
the pain started beginning of december, and i didnt get the pain for just over a week, just after xmas i think, and its just come back in the past few days. the only thing that i changed is my diet, but other than that i didnt do anything different.
one more thing, when i first experienced this pain it was this situation:
i got the pain a couple of times, but it wasnt as often, and one day i randomly went to stand up, and i felt a really bad pain – like an electric shocl/muscle ripping kinda pain, which lasted for about a minute, then faded. this made me think it was a pulled muscle, but it hasnt got better.
i’m 16, virgin, and i suffer from ibs, so is this a symptom of ibs? please help guys xxxx

i was told to eat more fiber in my diet due to diverticulosis diagnosed during my colon test. the foods that are high in fiber, i.e. vegs and nuts and beans, cause stomach gas so what do you do?

Dr. Oz, from Oprah, said men need 35g of fiber a day to help prevent colon cancer. My Stroehmann brand enriched Hot Dog Buns have only 1g of dietary fiber. How do I make up for the lack of fiber in my diet?
