I just want to know what kind of weight loss aids i can use IN ADDITION to diet and exercise. I know that there is no magic pill and that i wont be losing that much extra… but reallly i dont need to lose that much. Im a 6’0 male that weighs 215. want to get down to like 180. Im eating really well and doing cardio everyday for about an hour, and liftin every so often
im considering green tea extract, acai berry, alli, and colon cleanse. MY doctor told me that alli was probably the healthiest and most effective. thoughts?

My mom recently got through thyroid cancer, and contrary to popular assumption, actually gained quite a bit of weight. Having always been active, this is hurting her lifestyle now that she’s done with chemo and getting back into the swing of things. She’s gone through cancer once (colon) and was able to bounce back into her normal lifestyle pretty fast, so the key problem she’s facing is the weight gain (other problems being controlled with medication). It just puts too much stress on her joints.

Her doctor gave her the okay to go on an 800 calorie (mostly) liquid diet. He explained to her that it would throw her into a state of Ketosis, where the fat would be burned instead of the glucose. However, keeping in mind that she has always been active (although always maybe 5 -10 pounds overweight), he’s saying that he doesnt want her to exercise. Not because she cant. Not because she would hurt herself. But because he doesnt want her to build muscle while she’s losing.

Does that make any sense? Because it doesnt to me. My mom isn’t trying to lose weight for vanity. She doesnt care what the number on the scale says. She wants to be healthy, and I’m concerned the doctor is only worried about getting her the scale number down.

Can anyone explain this train of thinking? I’m not being confrontational, I just legitimately dont understand.

Before nayone starts staying I am stupid for considering this, if I explain I had an op and put on a stone and have been very unsettled and depressed. I always eat healthy and exercise but due to the op couldn’t for a month. Now I am depressed, not sure if due to everything taht happened but I cannot stop eating.

I read that doing a short cleanse helps as a precurser to eating healthily again. I wouldn’t loose much weight but it could help me get back into healthy eating habits rather than eating continously with no self discipline.

So, I wondered if you have one it – did anything strange happen to your body? i read that our bodies can hold onto spme bits of feacal matter for 20-30 years – and the cleanse can help to release this – i don’t understand how this can be true, but do accept that the colon sn’t as smooth as you’d imagine! Ick.

Do you get really irritable? Do you loose energy – I still have to exercise and look after a household?

Hi there, I’m going on a trip in a few months and I’m hoping to lose 15-20 pounds before I go. I’m not a bad eater, but I do have a little bit of weight I’d like to shed. I work out daily, yoga and swimming. My doctor suggested before I really start dieting to do a colon cleanse because I don’t go very often (if you know what I mean) But I was wondering if anyone has done a colon cleanse before and how much weight did you lose? I’m only really wondering because I’d like to know how much more pounds I need to shed after the cleanse to reach my goal weight. I did the "10 day master cleanse" last year and seen dramatic results but this year I’m not interested in starving myself. It was just too much for me.

Thanks for your time. Hope to year from you :)

I used one last night cause I’ve been having problems doing the "do" and then again when I got off work.

Is this bad for my colon? Or health?

so im 11, im an okay weight but i wanna lose about 30lbs….in about 2-4 months, but healthily
NO STINKEN ACIE BERRY OR COLON CLEANSE or any of that stupid stuff that could possibly harm my body in some physical, or mentally way, i dont wanna end up in a hospital…..i want to lose this weight by a normal good diet to follow, you know, like 500-1,200 calories a day, and some excersizes. but i dont know what kind or anything, i want something i can write down, hang on my wall and follow every day, im doing this for me
im 5ft0
130lbs, and wanna be 95lbs before 5 months
so heres my "now" routine:
breakfast:nothing(sometimes some chips)
lunch:nothing cus i wake up so late unless school days i have a turkey sandwich
dinner:salad, or something
i usually over eat in between like 500calorie snacks, and i stopped eating for a day but i literally almost cried when i saw food and like mentally exploded, and began eating more than normal.
i have a small frame….but waaaayyyy overweight
i need alot of help before i go to the doctors again, cus i gotta see my weight, and wanna be real thin
NOONE TELL ME TO STOP EATING AND BECOME AN ANOREXIC, ID NEVER BE THAT INSANE!!!
so please be nice to me!
oh and im a vegetarian, so i dont have turkey sandwich, i have pb&j, see im goin crazy LOL

I have heard so many different things. One person tells me to take a fiber supplement. Someone else tells me to try a colon cleanse. Yet someone else tells me that hoodia is the best. Now I am hearing all these things about the Acai berry diet as seen on Oprah with Dr. Oz. Has anyone tried any of these, and if so, which ones worked best for you, and how fast? I have been starting an exercising routine, but the faster I can drop the weight the better. It will keep me motivated!!! I have a lot to go!
P.s.
The reason I have so much to lose is because I had 2 back to back pregnancies, where I was never able to lose the weight with my first child. I have been trying to diet, but I’m just not losing it fast enough to keep me motivated, at this rate, so the guy who decided to refer to me as a F* pig can rot and has been blocked!!

I’ve heard of master cleanses and all sorts of other strange and depriving ways of clearing out your stomach and intestines but I would like to know what is the best, most effective and COST effective method to clearing out your stomach, colon, and gastrointestinal lining. Also, if anyone could also give some insight into getting rid of reflux once and for all, that would be much appreciated. Thank you!

A:The caecum is the organ attached to the large intestine with no known function.
B:The colon is the digestive system’s last means of absorption; any food particles not absorbed at this point harden and become waste.
C:The rectum is the longest and largest part of the large intestine.
D:Sweat is your largest organ and is composed of layers of tissue that cover your entire body and protect it from the environment.

I am interested in trying body detox program to remove toxins from my body….like a colon cleanse. Are they medically significant or just a fad?

Does anyone know how harm full/helpful the Master Cleanse is? It’s basically Water, lemon juice, Organic Grade B Maple syrup, and Cayenne pepper or supplements! I know it sounds gross, and it’s not intended for wait-loss, but mainly a colon/intestinal/waste cleanse! My friend said she did it for 3 days (recommended around 10) and she said don’t do it more than five, so that it won’t ruin my metabolism!

I am in my second year of college, and while this semester I have been feeling unhealthy and gross, I got on the scale when I got home and I am 15 pounds more (20 on a bad, bad day)! So I need help! I am SO uncomfortable in my jeans, I want to swear sweats everyday.. (I feel like I have a tire around ear arm, each upper thigh, AND about 7 around my waiste!

I know what you’re going to say, diet and exercise! I am a full time student, and it’s hard to find time when I have to study a lot! Also-bikini season is coming SOON. I have ONLY 42 days until I leave for spring break! I HONESTLY want to lose the 15 pounds. I KNOW, I know that is drastic, but I HAVE TO! I will eat, I will eat healthy, but adjust my body to less calories, and by working out!

Along with telling me your opinion about the Lemonade fast, if you know can you please tell me some foods that you can eat plenty of and it’s healthy? I drive to class each and every day, and it’s around 40 minutes, so coming home for lunch is silly with gas prices and time! What are some things that I can just throw in baggie? I am completely cutting out carbs, I know people need some, but I’ve eated enough for my entire life!

Sorry my post is LONG, and I didn’t mean to ramble.. which I did! So thanks for reading if you got this far!

Don’t tell me its not healthy b/c I DON’T CARE. I don’t exercise but tell me if this diet is good.

I’ve been taking a teen vitamin which has 100 something cals. I also take 2 kid gummies (they taste so good:)) & they r 15 cals each. I don’t eat breakfest or lunch. My dinner is a bag of popcorn (I know it sounds dumb, but popcorn is healthy & doesn’t have a lot of cals at all & I love popcorn anyway). I’m going to have 1 tbs of olive oil b/c i heard its good for the colon or something, is that true?

I 1st started doing this 2day, If I do it for a week or at least a few days, can i lose a few pounds? Don’t bother telling me that I’m an idiot b/c I kno I probably am but I really wanna lose wieght. So yeah, can i lose 5 pounds?

It seems that coffee enemas are very popular for detoxing the liver as well as cleaning out the colon .This may work by dilating the bile duct ? Have you ever tried this ? Results ?

okay so i have candida. this means if i dont follow a strict diet, i am very very sick. I eat alot of raw salads and fruit. i consume a ridiculous amount of fruit. i know they recommend a size of a deck of cards of meat to eat each day, but with my diet should i eat more since i don’t have dairy or bread? iv been on this for two years. i used to eat tons of meat each day but now i eat very little. is this bad?
oh iv tried going off this diet but every time i do i just get really ill. i am going to try a colon cleanse though

ok ive noticed that my stools have been occationaly pencil thin, accompanied by pebble like stools, this happens probably 2 to 3 times a week. the rest are loose stools of no particular shape, is this colon or rectum/anal cancer or a poor diet? im 14, male, 5 4, 105 lbs, on most days i prolly get about 2 and half to 3 hours of exersise.

Currently doing natural detox of liver with silymarin, and colon clenzers for general health not to cover any thing. weight is somewhat heavy not obese baby weight. hadnt smoked before since 11-28-2007. Have been working out as well as pumping lots of waters and juices. Mainly vegetable juice. Is there a natural cleanser. Also take niacin for dietary reasons.

My grandfather is currently in 4th stage cancer. He had a tumor removed from his colon last year and now has just acquired Jondus as the cancer has spread to his liver. We fear that he does not have much time left at all.
I just found out about this Budwig Diet yesterday. I have gone over the web site and there seems to be different variations of the diet depending upon the stage of cancer one has.
Can anyone direct me to what set of instructions I should follow? The home portion of this news group, is that enough to get started? Do I need to purchase the Budwig books? Also, my grandfather is currently in India, Chandigarah. Are there any groups there that may be able to help?

I appreciate everyone’s help. Thank you and God Bless!

I was fine….but decided to try a gluten free diet to see what it’s all about and see if I felt better on it. Well I have been doing it for a week now..and I have now had diahrea twice bad right after eating lunch and very loose stools and pain/burning in the colon/rectum. I am concerned that I should stop this diet. I just ate one 96/4 foreman grilled burger and 2 slices of Udi’s whole wheat with some sauteed onion and within 20 mins I ran to the bathroom. I am seeing a dr on Friday but dont want to keep going with this if its that bad. The one new thing Ive added to the diet is the Udi’s could the bread be the problem. Maybe I need the Gluten….maybe some of this hype about Gluten free is not all that…Please help

I will perform a Raw, Lung, Colon, Kidney, Liver, and Bath detox. Each one will consist of 30 days by me easing into the diet and then easing off of it.

I’ve been having some trouble getting these last few lbs off after having a baby 8 months ago. I was breast feeding and that helped a lot but after I stopped about a month ago the weight has just been sitting there.

I’ve heard about the Olive Oil diet which you take a shot of olive oil every morning for breakfast with a piece of fruit and it helps you lose weight. I’m assuming it helps by reducing cravings and hunger.

Does anyone have any information (pros/cons) or experiences with the Olive Oil diet. I want to do something natural.

Also will the Olive Oil help cleanse my body (like a colon cleanse)?

I’ve never done this before and I feel like crap, I eat healthy, Love fruit n veggies. I eat whole grain I run every day and I just feel- nasty for some reason. I was thinking of a total body cleanse/detox, preferably all-natural and not just colon cleanse- I want whole body. Who has done this and has a favorite?

Did anyone out there ever try an over the counter colon cleanse?

I am looking to jump start my dieting and I feel that a colon cleanse would be a good idea to help. I did one several years ago and I felt amazingly well after. What products should I use? There are so many out there I am just not sure!

I just read that Julia from Channel 6News did this diet and she loved it. So I want to try it. The thing is, I’m nursing my son. He’s 11 months so hopefully will be weaning soon (hes going in for tubes in his ears, and possibly his adnoids and tonsils out, so I wont be forcing the weaning till after hes better)

I want to know tho, is the acai trim and colon healing safe for me to take when Im nursing. Ive heard that because the acai is natural, its okay for him, but any additives they put in it (for weight loss) may effect him.

I def don’t want to be using something that can effect/hurt him. But we’re going on vacation this summer and I REALLY want to loose some weight. Ive tried eating healthy and exercise, but its just not cutting it. Plus I cant seem to get in enough time to exercise with my kids. 5 min here and there isn’t enough, and if I try for more, then my son cries and wants me.

I know I should talk to his dr to make sure. But I wsa wondering if anyone on here knows the answer.
thanks.
btw I’m going to post this in a few areas since Im not sure where it should go.

Is it safe to drink this even if I DON’T have gallstones?
I just want a healthier body/colon/liver.
Will I have diarrhea?
