I have been trying to lose weight, I’m doing good so far, Someone told me i should use colon cleanser to clear all the old foods in my body?

I am willing to try this; but what is the best one?

& how should I do it? I don’t wanna use it to fast so i won’t gain back all the pounds.

Also, colon cancer runs in my family serverly, so by doing this can it help prevent it?

Is this also a symptom or irritable bowel? I am so scared I have colon cancer or something. Have had 2 times that I saw blood but lately its just the orange stuff!

Symptoms Include:
- Abdominal Pain/Discomfort
- Change in Bowl Stuff (constipation/the big D)
- Fatigue
- Weakness
- Blood on Toliet Paper (back end)
- Fever that comes and goes
- Lower back discomfort (I do have scoliosis, but it’s never felt like this)
- Pain in abdomin feels like I’m hungry/full/or very uncomfortable
- Wakes me up at night for no reason
- Restless
- Trouble going to bathroom because it hurts (my rear end)

I have X-Rays on Friday that were clear except for the fact I had some stool backed up in my colon. So, I was put on a laxative to clean it out. I’ve been on it for 2 days, but I still have the pain. Ultra Sound showed nothing either. If this pain isn’t gone by Monday, we’re scheduling the test where I drink barium and they do X-Ray’s. Please tell me what you think this is. I was afraid it was Colon Cancer because my grandfather had it and I know Crohn’s Disease (sometimes) goes with Colon Cancer. Could it be that?

Don’t say "go to the Doc/ER".
No, this has been going on for a month and slowly, but surely, has progressed towards worse.

I’ve been plagued with Rectal bleeding over 1 month. Finally got up the nerve to go see doc, and he scheduled me for colonoscopy. Won’t know result of that until 11/14. Who wants to wait that long? My hair is growing like crazy, and I’ve lost 20lbs since 3/2007.

Are there any other physical symptoms associated with colon cancer? There are no changes in bowel habits. Do I have reason to worry?

My mom was diagnosed w/ stage 4 colon cancer in May 2007 she went though 2 yrs of chemo and just recently under went radiation to a tumor that has broke through her skin. It is located in her abdomen and is coming out of her navel. Please tell me with your best guess how much time we have left with her. Her liver and lungs are clear no signs of cancer there. Thank you

What should a person that has been recently operated ( about one month ago) because of colon cancer and has had a piece of their colon amputated eat?? Is there any recommended diets or anything? I would really appreciated THANKS A LOT

I need a colonoscopy but am uninsured. Colon cancer is prevalent in my family and I am long overdue for this test.

I can pay cash. Does any medical facility offer free, low cost or discounts for cash for colonoscopy?

Appreciate your input. Shar

My mother was diagnosed with stage four colon cancer 2 years ago. She is now on her last few months and I want to find something, anything that might help her stay for just a little longer. Anything helps! Trials, no gaurantees we are willing to try ANYTHING!

In other words, excluding a very bloody bowel movement, what is the other common complain that people who are then diagnosed with colorectal cancer, brought to the doctor, since blood in the stool can be caused by many things and 99 percent of the time is diagnosed as something other than cancer ( although blood in the stool you should ALWAYS see a doctor no matter what)…Anyways i had a friend who had constant diahrrea, and he was getting it everyday for a while, and his bowel movements where in crazy amounts daily…like 4-6 plus in a day, everyday in the form of diahrreah…so i was just wondering..he was also a rare case as he is under 30 years of age!!( and 90-95% of colon cancer patients are aged 50 or older statistically) , but is fine now though thanks to modern medicine. anyways this has been on my mind lately, and im pretty young to think of this stuff as my doctor told me …(19), but i always worry about this stuff for some reason.

im doing a report and i need a little help with the research on colon cancer

The blood is bright red and the needle-pinching feeling seems to be near the sphincter, internally — near the entry/exit).

…when more fibre is eaten the blood stops but does one have a greater chance of colon cancer (or some other long-term ailment) because of too many episodes of blood in the stool caused specifically by the lack of fibre in the diet?

I have a research paper for biology and one of the questions that need to be answered is what type of genetic disorder is your disease. The disease I got assigned is colon cancer, and i can’t find what kind of genetic disorder it is. Would someone please inform me

ok how long does it take to get from stage 1 to stage 2 in colon cancer(and stage 2 to 3 and so on. There are 4 stages)? My father has stage 1 colon cancer and im wondering how long it takes to move along stages. And from what I have found if my father doesnt get the surgery then he has less than 90% chance of living for 5 more years? Is this true? What are the survival rates? It hasnt spread to other parts of the body yet, that we know of. He was diagnosed with stage 1 colon cancer about 2-3 months ago. your help is appreciated.

are these accurate?

i dont feed much on veggies cos i dont have time to cook. so i try to substitute it with fruits. how much fruits i need per day to prevent the horrible death of having colon cancer which leads bowel interuption and consequently vomitting fecal matter?

i eat 2 bananas per day but im not sure it has enough fibre in it. now i added 1 piece of apple to my daily diet. is that enough?

My dad has had colon cancer for maybe 5 years now, the last 5 years through this his health has been up and down and up and down. To make a very long story short he is now at the point where the cancer has spread to his lungs and liver, and can not handle anymore chemo, surgeries, or any treatments. His oncologist says he wants to just keep him "comfortable". Right now my dad seems to be doing and feeling alright. Which is shocking to me because his CEA is 1,300. Four weeks ago it was about 1,075. And and x-ray yesterday showed the leasions on his lungs. His only complication is a cough and some diarrhea. How long can this last? What does a CEA level that is this high really mean?

I’ve had quite extensive testing –everything short of a colonoscopy– to try to diagnose the cause of persistent abdominal pain that started just under my right ribcage and radiating toward my back.

Sometimes there’s nausea and pain is more diffuse throughout my abdomen. I’ve had an ultrasound, abdominal CT scan, an upper endoscopy, blood tests, fecal blood tests, and a HIDA scan for the gallbladder. All normal.

At my wit’s end. I’m wondering if it’s something like Colon cancer or inflammatory bowel disease, which I understand from my research requires a colonoscopy to accurately diagnoses. Yet when I bring this point up to my doctor and to my gastroenterologist, they feel the test is unnecessary given the CT scan and other tests already done.

Who is right?

colon cancer

I have been diagnosed with i.b.s im also quite worried as a number of family members have dies from stomach and colon cancer. I am trying to regulate my diet and be very careful, i would like to know your experiences of colon hydrotherapy, and colonic irrigation. I would love to know more about it and a good place to get it done in london, how much it costs how often to go and what are the results like.

Thanks

Hello,

A little over two weeks ago, I experienced really weird and very painful pain in my upper abdomen. It felt like a wave of pain was going from one side to the other. I never had that before, so I ended up spending a day at the hospital. They made me do blood tests, since they suspected I might have had a case of appendicitis. I also did a few chest x-rays, I believe in order to check if there was any obstruction in my intestine, because they also suspected constipation. None of them turned out positive for any of those signs. The general surgeon could not understand what it was. Whenever he pressed on at the top in between my lower ribs, I would be in a lot of pain. In the end, he told me that I might just have constipation, and to just improve my diet with lots of fiber and liquids.

I began doing so, but then whenever I go to the washroom now, I have rectal bleeding with pain. I find it on the toilet paper and in the bowl as well. I’ve been doing some readings, and what I’ve found was that I might have a case of hemorrhoids, which would explain the bleeding. I’ve been trying to keep up a high fiber diet, although I must admit I might not be taking the 35g recommendation. I will start taking Metamucil, so hopefully that’ll help a bit.

Looking back at what I had, I’m really worried that I might have a type of colon cancer. Is it possible with the symptoms I had/have? Has anyone else experienced this and found any answers?

I would greatly appreciate it if anyone could help,

Thank you

My dad is 71 years old with a leaky heart valve. His cardiologist gave him clearance for the surgery. Does this mean there is nothing to worry about with the colon cancer surgery and that everything will go good

I have a project on colon cancer and I just can’t seem to find this

I already have, and they just did X-Ray’s and assumed that the pain was caused by the constipation.
