I’ve been suffering from this for a few months now and it’s progressively only gotten worse. I was prescribed antibiotics for a possible bacterial infection as the cause but it proved ineffective. My physician told me that it’s very difficult to treat, and that the complete causes are somewhat of a mystery. I suffer lower back pain and sharp rectal pains, now I’m having trouble with bowel movements and erectile problems. I’m 22 years old and very frustrated. Could it be stress-related? I’m an extremely anxious person. Anybody with any insight at all would be greatly appreciated.

So im not really worried about my bowel movements but I cant remembered the last time I used the bathroom. Anyways I wanna know a good way to cleanse before MEPS I go tomorrow and I wanna lose a few pounds without using laxatives. So hints on how to make a bowel movement happen would be nice thank you.

Am I worrying too much about colon cancer?
Over the past 4 months, I’ve had a range of different bowel movements. Some have been fat and roundish; others have been thin and flat. Would I be seeing that range if you had colon cancer.

So is it a problem if I went from not being able to #### for a day, to have something like but not really direria?

I normally #### at once a day…

Is it just my OCD doing this to me?

This happened to me about 2 years ago and has now reoccurred. I’ve never had very regular bowel movements (maybe once a week max?) but lately, I can tell that I am very stopped up. Sunday around noon, I took three laxatives (the max I was able to take). I also drank about 4 oz. of magnesium citrate. Woke up Monday-nothing had happened.

Monday, I drank the rest of the bottle of MC (6 oz.) and walked and cycled 18 miles and ate a lot of fruit. I had one lousy (small) bowel movement that was extremely hard to get out. (My rectum was bleeding for awhile).

I am still in discomfort and nothing is happening. What do I do to cleanse myself?

For the past 4 months of my cycles, I have had extremely heavy periods with excruciating rectal pain. I wear a menstrual cup to catch up all the blood, because tampons and heavy pads don’t work enough anymore. It feels like someone is shoving a knife up my rectum. I can hardly walk and I get shooting pains that make me have to stop quickly and hold onto something. Bowel movements are painful, too. My rectum feels tight and full, almost like I have to have a bowel movement, but I don’t. This pain is ruining my life. I’ve never had it before.

I had a laparoscopy in Feb due to a different problem and it came up clear. I also have a colonoscopy after this first started in Oct. and it also came up clear. I have seen a colorectal surgeon and my gyno many times about this problem, and neither one knows what the heck is wrong with me.

Today, when the pain was really bad, I don’t know what made me think of it, but I felt up inside my rectum just to see if I could feel what was causing the pain. I curled my fingers forward toward my vagina, and the wall of my vagina was hard, swollen, and painful to the touch. I pushed on it, and sure enough, there was the pain and spasms I’d been feeling, the same pain I feel in my rectum. I put my menstrual cup in just to make sure, and yep, it was my vaginal wall. I could feel it through my rectum.

I am now convinced it has something to do with my reproductive organs. Can anyone tell me what might be causing this pain and pressure in my rectum? It seems to definitely be a gynecological problem, but my gyno says it isn’t. Please help. Could it be fibroids or something?

I saw an info mercial about toxins building up in your body and colon. Saying if you feel tired and sluggish, have bowel movements less than twice a day (which 2 a day is normal) then you have toxins built up in your body from not eating proper foods and you should use a colon cleanse product. Of course there just trying to sell there product but im wondering if theres any truth behind all that. Can you really have a bad buildup of toxins in your body. Because i only have bowel movents once a day sometimes once every other day and i always feel like im tired. My doctor already ruled out any health problems for that. Im in great health. Can toxins really build in your body and can they really cause all that? And is a colon cleanse product the way to go to get rid of the toxins? It all sounds gross to me about the toxins, you should have heard his expelanation, i want the stuff gone if its really true.

A few more tidbits that will help this scenario. I have recently had a fistula and abcess that was removed from the outer part of my anus. The infection was caused by feces imbedded in my colon and resulted in a very painful surgery and recovery. I rarely make bowel movements *2-3 during a full week normally* and have gone up to 2 weeks without a movement at all. When I do have BM’s, they are usually ribbon-like and cause discomfort, afterwhich I feel like I have not passed all of it and usually go to the bathroom multiple times during that day, although I make no progress after the initial movement. The fissure I am guessing, was caused from the ‘aftermath’ when I make BM’s. When I feel like I have not evacuated completely, I sit, and unintentionally strain, *muscles react as if I were vomiting*. Honestly, my diet is atrosious. Fast food, Hot pockets, Pizza, things of that nature are my normal meals. Hope this helps.

bowel movements and colon cleansing?
weight management?
energy?

I love tea anyway, I have a cabinet full of bagged teas of many varieties and flavors, brands so I’ll always drink tea.

Also, with that, how much is too much tea? is there a such thing as drinking too much of tea?
i ask about the colon cleansing thing because green tea and sometimes white tea makes me go. depending on what I eat, my bowel will come out pretty quick (TMI I know)
Thin Kabout it, I agree, tea is delicious in all it’s forms which is why I have a cabinet full of it.

infrequent bowel movements, small pellet sizeed stool with white seed-like objects inbedded, abdominal pain, straining, some rectal bleeding, feeling of not emptying bowels.

ok i dont have a fast metabolism or good bowel movements i probaly go once a week or none at all ,,, yeah sound graoss! but i know i might be packing a xtra few POUNDS in there and want to get rid of this NOW!! any method i should do or Cleanse i should take

I seem to have fairly poor digestion. I eat at least 20 grams or more fiber a day, and drink at least 2 liters of water a day. Usually more. And I still seem to have poor bowel movements. I’m not sure what else is causing it. I seem to have a lot of gas, if that helps in figuring it out. I don’t want to have to take laxatives. I want to do this as natural as possible. Would doing a one-time colon cleanse help get things moving normally again? Oh, I also take acidophillus(sp?) and papaya enzyme pills. I don’t get many fruits or veggies, and not a lot of protein. I also do at least a half hour of DDR six days a week. Any ideas on what could be wrong without going to see a doctor? I have no insurance at the moment so I’d like to be a last resort. Thank you.

EDIT: Goofed up and I had to repost. :p Sorry.
Forgot to add I don’t eat fast food, but I do eat canned soup and one Fiber One bar a day. That’s all the processed food I eat.

The area below and around my belly button is really hard if I press down. My bowel movements have also been off. Could this be constipation? I went to the bathroom earlier today, but I don’t feel ‘relieved’. I’ve had the hard spot for a good week, but I also had a lot of unhealthy food around the same time. What can I do to help cleanse my system fast? I’m 14 and don’t want to take any medications, if that makes a difference.

As long as I can remember, I have always seemed to have weird bowel movements. Lately I have been really bloated and constipated then once I would push it out, I would have really runny, mucousy diarrhea. I know that the mucous isn’t good and I should go to the doctor about that, but does it sound like I could have IBS?

Colon cancer and hemorroids run in my family. Both my father and grandfather had large bowel movements and so do I. I’ve thought about adding a fiber supplement to my diet to increase the frequency, and have also heard about fish oils…what’s the real deal on how to reduce the risk of hemorroids and colon cancer?
Also, I only eat two meals a day and am slim with high-metabolism, so over-eating isn’t a problem here. (Is metabolism even a factor?) I also don’t drink. I’ve seen these shows on TV that say you’re supposed to be having bowel movements all the time. I’m doing good to have one every other day.

I want to do a colon cleanse. I have been eating healthy and exercising but my bowel movements haven’t been normal. I have been having a bowel movement every day but it’s just not as much as it used to be. I feel very bloated all the time. Even when I stop eating 3 hours before going to bed I still always wake up feeling full. I think it might also be contributed to extra water weight that I haven’t lost yet. I’m thinking of doing the master cleanse (lemonade diet) for a couple of days. Or maybe a saltwater flush? I have used magnesium citrate before but it didn’t even make me use the restroom. Anyway, any advice you have is greatly appreciated. What do you think I should do? Do you have any homemade colon cleanse recipes? Thanks!

I don’t know if any of you have seen my previous question. So here:

"Okay, I’ve been reading around and have found a few things saying that meat stays into your intestines for a lot longer than other foods because it is so hard to digest. I have become a vegetarian now for a little over 2 months. About the end of Jan. I started having gas, an upset stomach, cramping and diarrhea. I was told since I was eating for things with fiber in them, and a healthier diet my body was just getting rid of the meat in my system, and cleansing my body. I’m starting to wonder about it now though. I sometimes don’t even feel like I’m about to have a bowel movement, and I do anyways. The movements are not that normal either. They are liquid-like, and have a larger odor that usual.

I don’t know what kinds of foods have a lot of fiber in them to begin with, but even so…is this normal? I mean it has been about two and a half weeks of this. It is not getting any better…I don’t quite understand."
Now, I went to my doctor asking about it. She said I may be getting too much fiber, that my body is not used to all the veggies, and what not. However, I’m not eating a lot of veggies so I am not sure what is going on. She said I needed more protein, and I’ve been eating dairy products, veggies dogs/burgers, peanut butter and occassionally some tofu. I’ve now turned to drinking a soy protein powdered shake, that as other essential vitamins in it. It is seeming to help a bit more, but none the less when I have bowel movements they are still running, and not at all the normal type. What else can I do? Someone, I remember said something about iron, and anemia? What would that have to do with this? I do not want to give up my diet choice and go back to meat. If that is my last choice though, I guess I’ll go for fish…but I cannot keep destroying my body like this….
Well, I’ve been incorporating more protein, and it has been helping a bit. Not quite so frequent, and what not, and a bit more solid but as I said before…still not completely normal….

Thanks you guys. I’ll look up the things you’ve suggested so far.

In the last 18 months I’ve lost about 60 pounds. I went from 260 to 200. In that time my bowel movements have gone from normal size, to just a fraction of the size. They’re not even a 1/5 of the normal size. The first four months I lost 40 pounds and I ate very healthy, grape nuts for breakfast, turkey sandwiches, etc. I also drink a lot of water in a days time, at least 7 glasses a day. I eat a good amount of fiber, things like whole wheat bread, and grape nuts, but it seems like what I’m putting in is much less than what should be coming out.

In this time I’ve also been very healthy, I don’t feel like anything is wrong with me other than these very small bowel movements. I lost weight the old fashion way of diet and exercise.

does anyone know what might be wrong?

Hey, i’m 15 years old, and i’m worried i may have colon cancer. I have a healthy diet, i drink water, lots of fiber in my diet too, but recently i’ve noticed a chance in my bowel movements. I’ve recently had "on and off" diarrhea, and "on and off" Pencil – thin stools. i’ve felt more gassy than usual lately, but other than that, i’m fine. Not tired, no blood, but i noticed earlier today that i have pinworms, and don’t worry, i’m getting medication for that tomorrow. I just wanted to know, are the bowel movements more likely because of the worms, or cancer? please serious answers because im scared.

For the last year, I have like 3-4 bowel movements per day, but they all seem unfinished, like I still feel like I have more in me, but it doesn’t come out, until I get the urge a few hours later. Yesterday I took a bunch of colon cleanse, and so far I am having a bowel movement every 5 or 6 hours, but not dhiarrea, and it still feels unfinished. I thought with colon cleansers you just have one big dhiarrea movement, but that’s not the case with me. If my system is clogged, what do I do to fix it? Do enemas work? Thank you for your time.

it has been a few months now that i have been really constipated. i have been taking fiber suppliment pills, and also colace. they are not helping. i only have bowel movements like once a week if im lucky. my stomache is rock hard from it. is there any way to totally clean out my intestines in a day or two for some immediate releif? i am not worried about being strapped to the toilet for a few days… anything to help. i even tried prune juice

i’ve heard about this diet called colon cleanse pro and i was wondering if it was legitimate. keep in mind; i have a history of infrequent (every other day) bowel movements. was this made for me?

I have seen an infomercial starring Klee Irwin, the guy who made dual action cleanse. Is it just me or is that the funniest thing i have ever seen? He talked about his 4 year old daughters bowel movements!!!
