Recently I’ve been having bowel movements every morning but the stools are thinner than they used to be, not too much comes out and I haven’t been had an "s" shaped bowel movement in awhile. I don’t have much stomach pain, just some aches every now and then. I bled once about a few months ago when i had a bowel movement and i was worried then. I’m worried again in regards to colon cancer. I am 19 years old and wondering why my stool is thinner and smaller..does that mean colon cancer??

Or if you have to, what are you most discreet about?

1. Time of the month
2. Anything relating to bowel movements/diarrhea
3. Colon cleansing
4. Gynecologist appointments
5. Waxing body parts and/or tweezing facial hair

I read years ago that men want to know as little as possible about the above. They know it goes on, but details seem to take away from the sexiness of their wife.

What about you? Any you want to add?

I have IBS and IBD (proctitis -constipation with 2-3 healthy bowel movements (BM) a week). I have not had a regular bowel moment in 4 months. I eat a high fiber diet, no caffine only water. I recently went almost 2 weeks without a BM. I took 2 Xstrength EXlax, metamucil, 2 enemas and one bottle of Fleet and nothing came out. I had xrays and it showed that I have massive constipation. I am seeing a specialist next month.

I have been on a 3 month colon cleansing system for two weeks, taking 3 240mg stool softeners per day and still nothing. I have developed lower back pain and find it hard to stand straight or lay flat. I am always hungry and no matter how much sleep I get I am always tired. I have a 4-5 gumball pellets BM every couple of days – I think there is no room for the food I eat so some has to come out. Also have rectal bleeding – no hemmoroids. I have lost a couple of pounds. Bad stomach cramps.

Any suggestions on what may be wrong or what I can do?

This is so hard for me to talk about, but I’ve been having trouble having a bowel movement for the past 5 months now. I eat incredibly healthy, stay away from fast-foods, fried foods, and junk food in general. I eat a lot of fiber to try to make myself go to the restroom more, and drink a lot of water. I’ve tried probiotic yogurt and drinks, colon cleanses, Metamucil fiber pills, i have even had to use laxatives a few times since i hadn’t had a bowel movement in around 5 days..I am now starting these new pills that are supposed to help digestion. They aren’t doing much.
Can you help me figure out what to try to aid in bowel movements, or have you heard of any of these cases before? What do you suggest?
Thank you!

I am pretty sure that i am carrying undigested food because i eat alot and have infrequent bowel movements. I am pretty sure i dont have a disease (so dont say ""go see a doctor you could have…..") …is there any "cleansing products" out there…that are safe?

I have been having these appr.30 bowel movements…i have been having bad acne…about 2 weeks ago had full body itching…and i think that’s a hemmroid that pokes out and hurts…a don’t have the best diet…someone please help me..i think i need a colon cleansing..or something????

I have been having unusally large bowel movements, Is there any way I can make it smaller and softer befor I have another bowel movement. ( I dont drink a lot of water nor fiber whitch prabably helps ) I dont know a whole lot on these types of things if you have an answer please tell. thank you!

Say you had a symptom of colon cancer maybe 4 years ago, but then 4 years later you feel fine, energetic and still feel good and healthy even after hard days labor, have a good appetite, no nausea or fatigue, etc and still have the same normal weight is it a good chance that you dont really have the cancer? Or would the symptoms actually get worse if you really had the cancer? Reason i ask is because 4 years ago i saw blood in my stool ( which i did go to the doctor and it turns out i have a pilondial cyst which bleeds periodically) I was 18 at the time and now im 22, and even tho i went to the doctor I was still so scared about this, he assured me i was fine, but since im pessimistic it still has been in the back of my mind for the past 4 years that I think about it all the time. Since then iv become obsessed witht he consistancy and frequency of bowel movements etc, and have also become more anxious and nervous ever since. Physically i have no other symptoms and I havent really had anything else aside from occasional gas, etc but nothing persistant. I did a colon cleansing and that seemed to work and increased my bowel frequency. Lately though iv been very nervous and my bowel movements though normal, feel like htey are smaller than usual when i go. Is this cause of my nervousness? Iv been to the doctor and he says its just in my head because i think about it all the time, but i still say that ever since i seen the blood in my stool, even though the pilondial cyst was doing it, I still get worried. Physically i feel fine. I work a physically gruelling job 40 hours a week, sometimes 9 hours a day and i have alot of energy, I eat alot, and my weight has been the same since i can remember, the only thing is that I get extremely anxious and nervous and i still cant seem to stop worrying. I figure that if i really would have had a cancer for this long i might feel sicker , but im still not assure, nothing ever puts me to ease, not even a doctors word.

My primary care doctor has referred me to a gastroenterologist for evaluation for a possible malabsorption problem. My only symptoms are unexplained weight loss of a little over 10% of my body weight over the past 6 months and somewhat frequent bowel movements (not diarrhea, just ‘going’ 3-4X/day, almost always in the morning). My appetite, diet and activity level remain unchanged and I feel fine. I’m too skinny as it is and very worried about losing any more weight.

For the record, I’m a 43-year-old female in otherwise good health; I do have a family history of pancreatic, prostate and colon cancer.

Has anyone else experienced similar symptoms? If so, what was your diagnosis?

I appreciate any insights.

I’ve been interesting in cleansing my body internally for awhile now. I don’t want to visit any clinics or anything and get that huge tube (LOL) but I am interested in taking some supplements or vitamins. I’ve been reading up on Dr. Natura Colonix and although it’s mainly positive, I also seen a lot of negative reviews. But I want to feel healthier and I don’t want my gas or breath to smell bad. I also remember seeing an infomercial on television about a colon cleansing product that seemed very good at removing a lot of the waste in regular bowel movements (nothing like laxatives though). Does anyone know that product or can recommend anything else?
No. This has nothing to do with diet pills or wanting to be thin. I just heard it’s important to cleanse your body every once in awhile with a cleansing that lasts for a few days and not like, months or anything since that’ll take away your body’s nutrients and moisture.

2 months passed since my last treatment. cancer is gone(clean bill of health). i was told it would take anywhere from 4-6 months for my bowel movements go back to normal. rumor has it that it would take 11 months to a year. anybody been through this or knows somebody who has. how long did it take for them. did they or you take anything(vitamins) to speed up the healing process.. getting tired of going to the bathroom 5-7 times a day.

(Doctors’ answers prefered.)
Is it safe to take liver cleansing supplements and colon cleansing supplements? If so, is there a certain brand you recommend? What exactly is in the supplement that is effective? Is it possible to overdose? I am a 20 yr old female with irregular bowel movements and occational nausea. My stomach is often uncomfortable and bloated (even when I’m not on my period), and I’m wondering if it would help to take colon cleansing supplements. Every now and then, maybe every 2-3 months, I get so nauseous for an hour or so and then I vomit. After I vomit I feel better but I still feel exhausted so I usually go to sleep afterwards. I already exercise, drink plenty of water, and eat healthy, but nothing I do seems to work. My doctor says there is nothing she can do because there is no consistency and there doesn’t seem to be a certain food that triggers it so she can’t diagnose anything. Also, I don’t know if this is relevant but sometimes if I’m hungry I get dizzy. If I dont eat enough I get very fatigued and sometimes dizzy. I’m 5’4" and about 108 lbs. That is a healthy weight for my body type. Just to clarify, I don’t starve myself, I always try to make sure I’ve eaten enough. Thanks

I’m 22 and I’m a female. For years, I have been getting this sharp pain in my colon that comes and goes every now and then. I can say I probably experience this 12 times per year (spread out throughout the year). The pain feels like my colon is probably contracting or maybe like it’s being stabbed by a knife, because it is very sharp feeling. It can come out of the blue, while I’m lying down, standing, or sitting and it stays for maximum of 5 seconds maybe.

I’ve never inserted anything into that area and I don’t ever use it for anything except bowel movements. I’ve never had hemerroids or any rectal bleeding or anything. I still have not gone to get it checked out. I looked up Colon Cancer symptoms on the internet and the symptom that I have is not among them, so I am really confused as to what may be happening.

If this symptom may sound familiar to you can you please share with me what it may be? I was wondering if I might have Colon Cancer or some rectal problems.

I have a gastroenterologist who recommended me to take Miralax & Suppositories everyday for the next 3-6 months. This will be too harsh on my body. I am a diabetic and I have severe high blood pressure. I have been advised to start on a body cleansing program because the constant fatigue is the main problem. OTC Regimen seems to work for a little while and then I start getting constipated again or I will have to discontinue because I get dehydrated from diarrhea. I have been advised by the gastroenterologist to be on a high fiber diet. I have been advised to eat only fruits and vegetables from the internal medicine physician. No breads, No Sugar, No Salt, No Caffeine. No Fried Foods. No Excuses. I have been advised to start on a vegetarian meal program that is designed for diabetics.

So, I am searching for a high fiber diabetic vegetarian meal program and complete body cleansing program for overall health. I am suppose to eat 6 small meals a day. I have digestive problems so it is hard for me to take multivitamins. I would eat lot of high fiber foods and would get constant bloating and gas discomfort. So, I would need to be on a cleansing program and drink plenty of water only with every meal to eliminate the symptoms.

So, I was told if I could afford it; they would recommend me to start on the DrNatura Colonix Program for the first three months along with the Digestaid and Flora Protect Probiotics for the first three months to start regulating the bowel movements and eliminate the toxins that causes fatigue. It would cost me 3.24 for the three month program but do you think that it would be worth a try?

I have asthma, severe high blood pressure, diabetes, acid reflux disease, and internal hemorrhoids & external hemorrhoids. I have been breaking out in so many rashes lately but they said that the body acid and diabetes may be the cause of this and a body cleansing program and vegetarian diet should eliminate this program within the first two weeks.

It is amazing what the body goes through. I have three children and I would not want them to lose their mother over something that can be avoided. A body cleansing regimen is important for any woman or man and that is why I had to have the colonoscopy. I am searching for a healthy lifestyle and I am not good at staying on a diet program with cleansing out the body first. The body cleansing program is suppose to be a jumpstart towards a healthy lifestyle. It is suppose to take the taste of junk foods away and that is what I need. A program to coach me the right way to maintain a healthy lifestyle and remain on this healthier lifestyle for the rest of my life.

this started about a month ago i was having regular large bowel movements then over night I have had grape size only once a week if im lucky and only like 3 droppings (sorry for being graffic) but I went to the er they said I was constipated and to take a laxitive i took it i had a few bowel movements and now its a week later I had to use a sapository and here where 3 grape sizes again. I have been having nausea and vomiting off and on they said its from the constipation. but I was wondering could it be else like a inst. bloackage the only thing i dont understand is that it literally happened with in a week…. please so smart answers and i have a doc appt next week so dont suggest that because I already know what I have to do but i would like to know what I could be looking at

please and thank you =)

I have tinea versicolor, which is basically a noncontagious fungal rash that appears on the skin. My mom keeps blaming it on all the "toxins" in my body and says I need to "take a cleaning out". She advises me to use Milk of Magnesium to encourage bowel movements every once in a while.

When I tell her that I don’t believe what I’m eating has anything to do with my condition seeing as it is external, and fungal, she gets annoyed at me. I’ve been trying to get her to take me to a dermatologist, but she refuses and keeps saying that all they’ll do is give me something to rub on my skin (which, in my point of view, is EXACTLY what I need, pharmaceutical strength anti-fungal lotion which I cannot get OTC).

She’s also blamed the boils I get on my skin on the "toxins" in my body from "build-up" of the food I eat. I know for a fact that boils are caused by toxins, but I’m pretty sure its from VIRAL or BACTERIAL infections which call for antibiotics to cure, not flushing my intestines.

Who here is right?

By the way, she found some doctor that is backing her up, but the doctor sounds like a quack to me. She says the cause of my skin condition is from me eating too much meat (which I actually eat very little of) and that I need to, again, "take a cleaning out" to fix. The only thing she said that made sense to me was for me to use a special plant oil on my skin (which I know has antifungal properties). Thoughts?

This question is for Christians who were led to fast by God, not fasting which was undertaken for weight loss, internal cleansing, group fasting, and other personal decisions.

What is the longest time God has called you to fast? Did you have energy to continue your daily activities during that time? What did you notice in terms of spriritual maturity, and a stronger relationship with God? What were you finally able to learn during your fast, that you couldn’t discern before?

Also, this is slightly off topic, but out of curiosity, did you have bowel movements during that time?

Drew and Mike used to talk abou this guy on their moring show. They called him "DR. POO" or something like that. He was/is a real doctor. The guy was selling some kind of colon/digestive tract cleanser that was supposed to produce 1-2 ft. long bowel movements. Anyone know the name of the product? I haven’t listened to them in ages, I can’t get them where I live now.

Serious question. What WAS the name of the colon cleansing product?

Ok, so I started the 14 day acia berry cleanse today.
I am only going to eat eating fruits (watermelon, Cantaloupe, and honeydew) & Vegetables (broccoli, Spinach, Carrots, Celery) for the first 3 days.
Along with Boats load of water!!!! When should I start seeing results?

i am on my second day and have had lose bowel movements.( tmi but: like i could tell i pooped out the carrots i ate yesterday…there were pieces floating of the carrot in the toilet)
5’4 160 lbs female 21 y

i read the book online, but i just want to clarify and make sure i interpreted it correctly.

SWF every morning or night(I’ve decided to do morning),
6-12 glasses of 8oz lemonade drinks(2 tbsp fresh lemon juice, 2 tbsp grade b maple syrup, 1/10tsp cayenne pepper)
and laxative tea every night or monring (optional).

is that right? i don’t have any laxative tea, so is it okay i just do the SWF every morning? am i supposed to have bowel movements at night if i’m only doing the SWF in the morning? Yesterday was my first day, i woke up and did the SWF and IT WORKED and I didnt make it to 6 glasses of lemonade but I think I got 5(today I’ll make sure I do get at least 6). I only had bowel movements an hr after the flush.
i’m asking for facts, not opinions. i’m not asking for reasons to do it and not to, just asking if i have to have the laxative tea and if i do the swf every morning.

b/g: mom has ovarian cancer, however all recent (past few months) ct-scans, x-rays, and ultrasounds show no tumors. About two months ago severe vomitting (from an oral chemo) resulted in no mobility of the gut and thus no eating or bowel movements.

question:
recent x-ray of abdoemn said:
"Positive bowel gas is noted. Organ shadows and osseous shadows are grossly negative. No significant stools are identified." Prior ct-scan (about 1 to 2 mo ago) said scan shows consistent with ileus vs sbo.

So does this sound like it is ileus and not a sbo? miralax is not really working and I’m not sure what to do to make the bowel ‘active’ again (there are no sounds). What does ‘positive bowel gas’ mean in relation to what’s going on?

Thanks in advance for any assistance

Back ground:
I am a 20 year old female
Gall bladder was removed when I was 17
Have had digestive problems since 15 years old, also have had hemorrhoids (those don’t really bother me as I keep it under control)
I have been diagnosed with IBS, I do not have Chrones, I’ve already been tested.

Going on right now…
Ive been having crazy hours. I was working 70 hours a week, I am down to about 60 hrs a week now. (tryign to pay for a university is not fun….) I have been taking WAYYYY too much caffeine. I got an excellent brand of liver cleanse to try and pee and excrete all of that and it has worked well. I have improved my diet, It is still not great due to the fact I am so busy, but it isn’t bad. I work out about 3 days a week and I am in pretty decent shape.

It was suggested that I take digestive enzymes because I was feeling bloated ALL time time, even after I went to the bathroom. I even took a diaretic because I take birth control thinkign it was water weight. while that helped some, it definately didn’t solve the bloating. The enzymes have been working great. they helped me digest my food much better.

Lately though… my digestion is very off, even with the enzymes. (It is also a good quality enzyme) When having bowel movements, I have noticed a lot of undigested food. I also am not retaining the nutrients from my food well. I have been feeling sluggish. I drink about 70-90 ounces of water a day and still I feel sluggish.

Would anyone happen to have any ideas of what might be causing this. Could it just be my lack of sleep? (i only get about 4-5 hours a night) Could it be the caffeine? Could it be a combination? I just feel so ill sometimes.

Anyways.. thanks for any help or suggestions.

its my second pregnancy i had a misscarriage with the first pregnancy but lately ive been really constipated and i know its bad to push is their aanythingi can include in my daily diet that will make me have soft bowel movements daily or is it ok for me to take laxative just once as to cleanse my colon?

I am a 29 year old overweight male. I’ve always had the ability to have a healthy, good sized bathroom break. For about the last week or so, I’ve been eating normally, but I’ve only really had explosive diarrhea, or watery bowel movements with a little bit of soft feces, and a liquid floating on top. The last time I tried to go I ended up passing a small piece of what looked like those sales pictures you see for colon cleanse products. It looked like tripe (cow stomach) you see on the grocery store shelves. I haven’t had the urge to go at all in the past 2 days, but I made myself try to a few minutes ago. After straining almost to the point of passing out, I passed a small, hard grey/green colored clay-like stool.

I’m worried I may be developing, or already have a bowel obstruction, and the diarrhea is squeezing past that. From what I’ve read it could also be IBS (which I am not diagnosed with yet). I am able to pass gas (and a lot of it), but that seems to be all I’m passing lately. Should I worry? To go from one extreme (diarrhea) to the other (severe constipation) doesn’t seem right.

I also have mild stinging pains radiating around my stomach, similar to what I would have before/after having a bout of diarrhea, but nothing seems to want to come out.
I’m freaking out about this and cant even sleep or calm down, so any help would be appreciated. I will call a doctor when they open but until then, I’ll be worrying my butt off.
