Small amounts of blood on wipe after bowel movement?
I’m 13, and every now and then after I have bowel movements and I wipe there is a very small amount of almost bright red blood on the wipe. It doesn’t hurt and I’m not dizzy or sleepy. This doesn’t happen every time I wipe though and I haven’t had any previous medical problems. Its just every now and then and I’m just wondering if I have some horrible disease or something.

Might be hemorrhoids. You should go to your family doctor and find out for sure.
It could be hemorrhoids!
Hi-
no, chances are you definitely don’t have a horrible disease. Your colon (large intestine) has a LOT of blood vessels, and if you have to strain to have a bowel movement, or if it is less than soft, it can nick/scrape the sides of your intestines and you’ll bleed a little. If you have bowel movements less than 3 times a week, your stool is consistently stiff/difficult to pass, or this starts to happen more often, I would see your doctor about it, and if you pass stool without straining or difficulty and your stool is soft I would still see your doctor, just because some of the blood vessels there are very big, and leaving this unresolved could be risky. You should also see your doctor immediately if your stool is/has black tarry streaks in it.
Good Luck!!
It’s because the bowel has a lot and I mean A LOT of blood vessels in it.
It’s pretty normal, don’t worry about it (:
I am pretty sure it is hemorrhoids. I have had this before also. I was worried thinking something was wrong and I asked my doctor and confirmed that it was indeed hemorrhoids. Some of the symptoms include itching, pain after bowel movements, bright red blood on the toilet paper and on the stool. As long as your stool isn’t coming out bloody (blackish in color) then you should be ok. Buy some Preparation H wipes or cream for relief of burning. I found that Charmin is the best toilet paper that doesn’t irritate them too bad.
