Rectal bleeding for a woman… cramps but no pain?
I am writing as i am concerned about my Wife, if anyone could help us that would be great. Last night she was crampy as if she were on her period, but she had it a week ago, so thought it was weird. The next day (today) she was still crampy and then had a clot of blood come from her rectum when she was going to the bathroom… number 2.
What could this be? She is in no actual pain down there but is still crampy just underneath her ribs, unlike yesterday’s more period pain symostoms. She describes her stomach pain as the feeling she gets after drinking too much milk.
Any suggestions on what to do would be greatly appreciated.

Could be anything from polyps to hemorrhoids, tell her to see a doctor.
She could be constipated, and when she finally went to the bathroom, the blood clot that had formed would come out too. An intestinal infection could also cause this. If it’s bright red blood, it’s usually a sign of irritation in the bowel lining…but should be checked by a doctor if it continues. The cramping is likely gas…but there again, if it continues, she should see her doctor. Tell her to eat mild foods and fruits for a few days, drink tea (preferably hot), and stay away from foods that will cause gas like…beans, milk, soy, spicy foods, etc
This could be hemorrhoids so she should go to the doctor.
I use to work with GI doctors in an endoscopy center. As prior posts have suggested this could be something benign to something rather serious. I would recommend that Monday morning you phone a physician and make an appt. It is recommended that at age 50 everyone gets a screening colonoscopy. If she has a family history of colon cancer the age then becomes 30 for screening.
Rectal bleeding is never good news. It could be something as easily treated as hemorrhoids or possibly something more sinister such as cancer of the colon. It would be best for her to go see her doctor ASAP before it gets any worse. Does she generally have problems going number 2? Constipation can sometimes cause bleeds too. A change of diet or taking certain suppliments may help that.
Hope she’s ok!
