Rabbit pelt, how to clean the blood?
I’ve got a fresh roadkill rabbit here. Its intestines were coming out when I found it and there is some blood on the fur. How can I clean it? I am going to preserve the skin on a board with salt over it, so I don’t really want to wet the hide.
Any idea’s?
Should I just wipe it down?

Being that it isn’t tanned or preserved yet, a little water won’t hurt it. I would just rinse it in cold water, and dry it off with a towel, then preserve it.
mix one lb of salt to 1 gal. of luke warm water add a bit of dawn dish soap to wash it,then rinse it in the salt water mix…let it drip dry then salt it
Wet the blood spots with cold water with ice cubes in it, sprinkle salt on the blood spots, and keep repeating until the blood spots are gone.*
Man, if all your going to do is salt it down you should have just left it as roadkill.
