My colon looks HUGE in the ct scan pic?
Please help, I’ve been having aches on my right side for months. All tests "normal". Well I got a copy of my ct scan and did the 3d view and my ascending colon looks HUGE. It was never this big in previous scans. I know it is full of stool, but this is ridiculous, it looks like it might be putting pressure on my liver (I have elevated liver enzymes for some reason) Why did they say the test was normal? What can I do to fix this?
Here is picture: www.rumorpress.net/colon.jpg
tests done:
hida scan cck – normal 83% ejection
abdominal ultrasound – normal
ct scan with contrast – "normal"
colonoscopy and endoscopy – normal
hydrogen breath test – positive
I usually pass a stool at least once every 2 days, but it is definitely different than it ever was before. Any ideas for me to overcome this would be appreciated!

Ascending colon/Cecum can be up to 9 cm in diameter. I’d ask that the radiologist measure it.
And it probably cannot be causing any mass effect on the liver.
try to google this:fecal impaction
also:megacolon
im not a Dr,but my guess would be you have that part of the colon stretched out(in the width, not in length)
are you seeing a gastroenterologist?
i worked at a vet clinic and megacolon occurs in animals too.
for a while, the owners were bringing in a cat for regular enemas,to clear out all the impacted feces from the colon of the cat.Of course,x-rays were done before,so that’s how they knew, that the colon is full of "stuff".The owner were trying to change the diet for the cat, adding extra fibre to it,sometimes the cat still couldn’t poop,so mineral oil was given to help.
eventually the cat needed surgery to fix the problem.
