It is a biopsy taken during a colonoscopy a sign that the doctor found cancer?
My mom had a colonoscopy today, she gets one done every two years. The doctor took a sample and I was wondering. Is two years enough time for cancer to develop to a point where it cant be treated? or can the doctor just take samples to study them and not necesarily to find cancer? I am really concerned and sad.

you can have polyps in the colon that are pre-cancerous. my mom had 2 removed last year, and shes ok. its one of the most curable forms of cancer if shes got it, so take heart, even if it is, she has 95% chance of beating it, ok?
A biopsy doesn’t necessarily mean that the doctor found cancer, just that they have found an area of interest that they would like to look at a little closer. I know that with a biopsy they have a chance to look at the cells to determine if there are any that are cancerous, but does not necessarily mean that cancer is present.
Since I am not too sure about colon cancer why don’t you check out some of these sites, it might help you understand and hopefully feel better.
