Is there any other disease that its symptoms are similar to colon cancer?
I’m 19 yrs old, and I’ve been having every symptom to colon cancer except for the migraines. I currently have hemorrhoids but before I had that, I was constipated and the pressure in my lower back was intense (still is). I always thought that you only got constipated from not drinking enough water, and all I drink is water so I don’t see why I’d be constipated. I also have a lot of pelvic pains and I’ll sometimes have bloody discharge from my vagina. I went to the hospital once and they let me go saying I didn’t have anything at all, but I insist that I do.

first of u get constipated from a lack of fiber in your diet. You need more fibers in your diet and if your not a fan of "bran" which is rich in fiber you could try metamucil.
2nd, why are you so worries about colon cancer? do you have family history of the disease? because some constipation and back pain are not enough to even suspect that…you should be having blood from the stool…meaning bleeding while fdoing number 2. and you would also have constant right side or left side abdominal pain and anemia in your blood works. Your hemorrhoids are caused by your chronic constipation.
3rd, blood from your vagina has nothing to do with colon cancer symptoms, that is an isolated incident and if you also have burning sensation during urination or your going to the bathroom alot, then you might have a urinary tract infection..
heres my advice, try all bran cereal and metamucil and your constipation will be history.
if you still have blood from your vagina, go get that checked out by a gynecologist.
about your migraine, try some paracetamol tablets like Tylenol and if taking 2 (500mg) tablets dont make it better check a doctor for stronger medication.
good luck
If you’re having pelvic pains and bloody discharge you should see your gynecologist.
Constipation can be caused by diet, medications, drugs, etc. It isn’t just about drinking enough water. Most people don’t get enough fiber in their diet, which can cause constipation. If you have chronic constipation then you should try taking Metamucil, Citrucel, or Miralax everyday and see if it helps. If not, then see your regular doctor.
There are a lot of other diseases that mimic colon cancer, but by the sound of things, you have a gynecological problem instead. Maybe fibroid uterus or something along that line. I suggest you go see an OB/GYN specialist & have them check you over. A hospital ED is not a place to go for something like that-they don’t have the means to check out those kind of problems-just deal with emergencies, not things that should be seen by a specialist. I’d be very interested to learn what the doctor says.
I’ve never had migraines, and I have stage III colon cancer. Not all people get the same symptoms, but I’ve not read that one, either. There are several diseases that can have similar symptoms (such as irritable bowel syndrome or gastroenteritis), and the only way to know for sure is to have a colonoscopy done. You need to see a gastroenterologist, who can perform this. He will be able to tell for sure. You’ll have to drink a gallon (yes, really) of laxatives the day before, along with following a liquid diet. Stay in the bathroom for about 5 hours–it’s not fun, but that’s the hard part. You’ll need a driver the day of the surgery, because they will put you out. It doesn’t hurt, though. They will take a biopsy of any polyps they might find, and they will have the results back to you within about 2 days. Good Luck!
Not sure what you’ve been reading, but (like most cancers) colon cancer doesn’t HAVE "symptoms" until a tumor grows so big it interferes with the normal function of the other organs around it.
It sounds as if the very most likely thing that is "wrong" is that you get too little exercise and/or your diet is far too low in fiber….these things cause stress, which of course makes the constipation and pain worse, and so on.
Keep a diary of exactly what you eat and how much exercise you get and if/when you use the bathroom, and take that with you to the doctor if your symptoms persist. These sorts of problems with no underlying pathology are quite often "irritable bowel syndrome", which you can fix quickly & easily yourself by eating better and walking or taking the stairs more often…
(BTW, 19 is far too old to think "you only got constipated from not drinking enough water", LOL!)
None of your symptoms except for pain is a symptom of colon cancer. Constipation causes hemorrhoids. The bloody discharge from your vagina wasn’t your period? It could have been a break through period, sometimes that happens in the middle of your cycle. If the discharge from your vagina looks serious you need to see a gynecologist and get that checked out. I had colon cancer. My first symptom was pain which seemed to be from my stomach (but was really from my transverse colon area), I had night sweats, lost weight suddenly (4 lbs. in one month), became anemic, and right before it was found I began throwing up my breakfast. Migraines were never a symptom. It may have been in there growing for 10 years, the doctor said it was the size of an apple. If you are only 19 I suggest you do some rethinking about your diet and eat one with more fiber. I did have a problem with hemorrhoids but cleared it up with the herb butchers broom. That might help you too.
