Is it normal to be in this much pain at this stage in my pregnancy?
I am 37 weeks preggo. I know that at this point it is common for women to feel uncomfortable at this point but should it be down right painful. I feel like my vagina is bruised and I have a ton of vaginal and rectal pressure. On top of that, my back feels like it is broken. I try to stay active and go on walks but the more activity I do the more it feels like someone beat me up with a baseball bat. I also have been having lots of menstral like cramping. The doctor checked me yesterday and said my cervix is completely closed and 0% effaced. I know it seems like I am complaining a lot and maybe I am just being a big baby but I just wanted to know if other women had to go through this too being pregnant.
Cant really rest because we are moving. . bad timing I know!!

The baby is good size now and poking every internal organ you’ve got except your brain, you’re tired and your discomfort tolerance is low. You’re probably having Braxton Hicks contractions and that hurts. Your back is tired of carrying the load and lets face it, you’re anxious to have your baby out and in your arms.
Just remember that the contractions you feel now will help you become dilated and effaced soon and keep your eye on the prize – a healthy baby in your arms within a few more weeks, maybe sooner.
when i was in my last tri-mester i had a lot of pains it felt like the baby was sticking out her head. I changed doctors and my new doctor found out the my placenta was very mature. And my amniotic fluid was low.
most women fill discomfort to some existent or a norther and even if your cervix was closed you could still dilate at any time not all labor progress slowly once you start to dilate it may happen very rapidly.
Congrats on your pregnancy. At 37 weeks the back pain could be the beginning of labor (I had two back labors, not a pain in my belly that I can recall). When your baby dropped into the pelvis it, it may have started stretching the ligaments more. As the baby grows and as your body continues to get itself ready for the baby’s delivery you will notice pains in your back, pelvis, and hips. The growing baby is putting more and more pressure on your back causing an increase in the back pain many women experience throughout pregnancy. Your pelvic region is changing in preparation of the birth which inevitably causes pain in the hips and pelvis. Try sleep positions and exercises that help alleviate the pain and discomfort.
Every body is different, you may have a small torso and therefor the baby has less room and is placing more pressure on that area! If you have gained ALOT of weight or are older, that can contribute to that. I cried alot my last few weeks from pain, exhaustion, just plain shortness of breath! I couldn’t go anywhere because I had to pee so frequently that i had to stay right next to a bathrrom. It was so bad that i could pee right before i left, go to the store down the street and almost not make it to the restroom from the parking lot! Now menstral like cramping is braxton hicks. When you are in labor the "first stage" of labor feel likes menstral cramps. So yes that is normal. No you are not complaining too much, pregnancy IS NOT EASY!! go on http://www.babycenter.com it will help u sooooo much thru this time and the first couple years of your baby’s life! trust me. i use it ALL the time! and its totally free GOOD LUCK
The last five weeks were really hard for me, so I can completely relate to what you’re going through. If I walked ANYWHERE, I had Charley Horses all night. I just finally realized that at home resting was the best place to be. It’s hard with the summer heat, but I would just try to stay inside and watch your favorite movies in bed. Lay down with your feet up and just relax. I know it’s going to be a hard couple of weeks, but just keep your eye on the prize– that sweet little baby that will be making their appearance soon.
