Is colon detox weightloss valid or a scam?
I’ve been hearing so much about this, is it just another "jenny craig" deal, or have people really been losing weight from this. I don’t understand how you can have 20pounds of fat in your colon. 0_o
Wow, there are so many answers I’m not sure who to pick as the correct one.

Total and complete scam.
Typically they claim something along the lines of 5-20 lbs of feces stuck in there – this is ridiculous, and would exceed the volume of the entire human instestinal tract. 5lbs alone with occupy more volume than two 2 liter soda bottles, and then some.
It preys on people’s psychological fixation on their bowels, and the whole idea that you’re full of stuff that’s inherently pretty nasty sounding.
It’s a scam. The pills contain basically a gelatin type substance that expands when you eat it, and then you poop it out and they proclaim it the fat you had.
It is a scam and in fact most of the products are detrimental to you. Most of the products are just laxatives in disguise and if taken will cause you to expel and the beneficial bacteria from your body such as the average five pounds of E cole a person has in their gut. Once these bacteria are gone you will have terrible and irregular bowel movements, so in the end the make you lose weight but not because it gets rid of fat it just destroys your gut.
The whole concept of ‘detox’ is a scam. You do not need to detox, you have an amazing organ in your body that will do that for you.
The concept of detox is an urban myth derived from constipated Edwardian’s who refused to eat vegetables.
If you want to lose weight, there is only one way: diet and exercise. It’s a simple input and output balance. The sooner you come to terms with this, the better off you’ll be.
It’s a scam.
Its a complete scam and its not very good for you. People that get these ridiculous "high colonics" are not only losing valuable fluid, but also electrolytes that can cause all sorts of new medical problems.
Just another way for people to make money at the expense of someone else’s ignorance.
