Is citalopram used to treat irritable bowel syndrome?
Now i know citalopram is usually used to treat depression but i have been given it to treat ibs. Does anyone know if this is true?

That being said, it is easier and safer on the body to take things like Melatonin or L-Tryptophan for boosting the Serotonin instead of preventing your body from absorbing it. Also, Probiotics have been found to be very beneficial for people with IBS among other things. I’ve done a lot of research on IBS because both my mother and brother have it and they have both seen HUGE benefits from taking a good Probiotic daily. They have both independently told me that they could easily notice when they missed a few days of the Probiotics (like when they ran out or forgot). Good luck and I hope I helped!
