I’m preparing to do a colon detox….?
…And I was wondering what some good meats to eat while I prepare to wind down… I’m doing three days of normal diet (protein, veggies, fresh veggie juice), two days of just veggies and juice, one day of just juice, and then my detox which is 5 days of nothing but the provided supplements to support the colon and liver, and the rest to help sweep out the colon. The last 3 of those 5 days will include fresh veggie juice along with the loads of water I’ll already be drinking.. But, the question is, what meats should I be eating to help ween me off protein for a short span of time… I assume chicken would be an obvious, but I’m not certain. Also, what spices should I avoid before the detox? Normally, I spice my chicken with salt, pepper, chili powder mix, thyme and rosemary. (everything we eat, including the spices, is organic.. Most of which I’ve ground myself.) Thanks!!
Its a box detox and for the 5 days of the actual detox you’re not supposed to eat. So they recommend you back off food slowly so those five days aren’t so big a shock. After of course the point is to eat healthier but no food during the detox. Only water and freshly made organic veggie juice.
Gary– I’ll explain. The body gets rid of toxins, sure… But sometimes when you’ve been exposed to a number of other toxins (such as second hand smoke, heavy metals, etc.) the body needs a boost.. And for SOME people.. More than you would think, really… The colon gets backed up and thus a storage of waste, toxins, and fecal matter build up that your body simply cannot get rid of on its own. SO you do a detox… and what is the detox? Well, its a series of supplements that help your body handle this build up. In my case that means: A colon support to help the colon start moving this build up along, and to also support it while it’s working over time.. A liver support to assist the liver in detoxifying. A strong fiber to get things moving. An appetite suppressant (natural, of course) to help your body since you’re not eating (to help give your digestive system a break) and an assortment of super nutrition and vitamin C. Also, if you’re not planning on answering the question..
..Why bother to sit and tell me how it’s a scam? Obviously, I’m going to do it regardless of what you think and really you should look into something before speaking poorly of it. Hopefully I’ve managed to clarify some of that for you, though I have little doubt that you will keep on believing what you want to believe no matter what proof is laid before you. Oh, and one more thing… Do you honestly refresh your body with normal tap water? You realize that the water that comes out of your tap is loaded with Chlorine, right? FYI.. Chlorine isn’t good for your body… Not saying that bottled water is any better, but I at least try to help myself by adding a water purifier to my tap to make some sort of health conscious effort.

Not sure where you are getting your info from? Meaning if you have someone who is instructing you then normally you follow their suggestions etc. Otherwise there is no right or wrong…technically I have folks stay away from all meat and most dairy…and yet even that is not mandatory. The idea is to do the cleanse…and eat healthy during that time. Sweets, junk, fried foods…and meat in general are all things I suggest staying away from or cutting out. I actually do a cleanse ‘all the time’ so to speak..so I never really have to do such a strict cleanse. Again…all preference and with experience etc. Good luck with it.
Ps…cleansing the body is not a scam. Helping the body to help itself is a choice we make. Again…good luck with it and also realize you have to go by how you feel for any type of fast or cleanse. So if for some reason you feel unwell…you can back off the cleanse and introduce gentle fruits/veggies at any time and still benefit while cleansing etc.
I guess you are unaware that colon detox is a scam? "detox" has no meaning outside of the clinical treatment for drug addiction or poisoning.
Your colon is clean and our bodies have their own ‘detox’ mechanisms. The gut prevents bacteria and many toxins from entering the body. When harmful chemicals do enter the body, the liver acts as an extraordinary chemical factory, usually combining them with its own chemicals to make a water soluble compound that can be excreted by the kidneys. The body thus detoxifies itself. The body is re-hydrated with ordinary tap water. It is refreshed with a good night’s sleep.
The so-called toxins that alt med promoters talk about are undefinable and there is no evidence that any such toxins accumulate in our bodies.
Save your money and don’t risk your health with quackery.

Edit: Katrina, if it’s not a scam, feel free to explain how the "detox" cleanses the body – what are the physical and chemical processes involved, what toxins exactly are being removed and where from?
