if my only symptom is occasional rectal pain, does that mean i have colon or rectal cancer?
sometimes I get a quick sharp or dull feeling in my rectum. I use feeling, instead of pain, because it doesnt really hurt, it isnt unbareable pain…it happens for a second and then goes away. i’ve been experiencing it for about a month. I think i have experienced it in the pastm but never paid attention to it. I am a 33 yr old female, in good health and have been a vegetarian for 17 years, if that matters at all. i have never seen blood in my stools, can this feeling mean that i have colon or rectal cancer?
thank you..No, I dont have any family history of colon/rectal cancer

Does it mean cancer? Not just no, but heck no! Cancer is a terrible disease and it’s unfortunate that the awareness campaigns have too many people overreacting to symptoms of usually minor ailments. Obviously, these transiting feelings or pains have you concerned so that is enough for a visit to your doctor but, please don’t stress over thoughts of cancer. Just get it checked out since it seems to be persisting. You aren’t going to feel mentally comfortable until you do.
Doesn’t sound like colorectal cancer.
If you are concerned, see your Dr.
There is a simple screening consisting of a stool sample that should reassure you, or if necessary a colonoscopy could be arranged.
Having answered some of your questions already and looking at your other ones, you’re just trying to give yourself cancer it seems. Once again, everyone has the occasional pain in the butt so to speak. No matter how many times you ask, you don’t have cancer. You need to stop worrying yourself so much.
no, maybe just peristalsis in the gut, could be referred pain from another part of intestine. if concerned, get a colonoscopy, esp if family hx. can mention to gyn at next appt , too.
