if I go on a liquid diet, how long before my bowels are clean and clear?
I was thinking of doing the master cleanse but the salt water flush makes me gag just thinking about it. If I just do a juice fast how long for my bowels to be clear and flushed?

It can take anywhere between a couple of days to a week for your bowels to clear. Generally detox diets/liquid diets take up to about a week. It depends entirely on your system etc.
Juice diets can also have consequences like diarrhea and headaches, so bear that in mind. It’s a good idea to liquidize vegetables and fruits if you’re on a liquid diet, so that you’re still getting the vitamins your body needs to function properly.
Remember it’s not a good way to diet long term. It can benefit you for about a week at a time, but I wouldn’t recommend it for much longer.
Good luck.
It won’t happen. It’s kind of gross to think about but the majority of fecal matter is not the food you eat, but waste products from your body’s chemical processes. Less than half of it is digested food. Even if you are on a strict liquid diet, you will still be disposing of worn out blood cells and cellular material from your digestive system.
Despite what the proponents of these diets will tell you, you have not been carrying around pounds of red meat since your childhood. The entire contents of your digestive system are replaced, -completely-, about every 24 hours. If you don’t believe me, ask anyone who has had a colonoscopy. If you just switch to a healthy diet, "toxins" like caffeine and animal fats will be completely purged from your body in a couple of days.
If you consume too much liquid volume, you will naturally eliminate all solid material from your bowels, but this is a temporary condition, and a dangerous one. Overloading with liquid can cause a life-threatening electrolyte imbalance and also result in damage to your intestines as the osmotic pressure forces fluid into your cells faster than they can process it.
