I’m having a colonoscopy at 8:30 am and there’s an event that I want to go to that night at 7 pm. Will I be able to go or will I be totally groggy and out of it? I know I probably shouldn’t drive by then, but if someone else is driving?

I can only relate via those I know who have been sedated. Some are better than other. Most are a little out of it. Others went home, ate lunch and took a nap.
I have never been sedated and I rode my bike 26 miles 3 hours after having my first colonoscopy. Now I take it easier and go to the movies and catch a matinee for the discount.
I had several of these and they keep you for about an hour afterwards to make sure you can pass the gas and then you go home. I was not groggy at all after my 3. You should be fine by 7. I would just be kinda picky on what food you eat through out the day. Stay away from spicy foods just in case it upsets your stomach. You don’t want to be anywhere and get diarrhea…not fun:) Good luck!
