   there arent really any tests for IBS.
   IBS is more of a cop out when they cant find the real reason you are having the problems you are having.
   I have crohns disease and have had the symptoms since i was 14, but was not diagnosed until i was 21 (im 26 now)
   for 7 yrs, i lived on immodium and zantac.
   i had diarrhea every day all day about 15-20 times a day.
   that was normal for me. now that i have been diagnosed and take meds it is much better.
   to see if you have crohns/ulcerative colitis they do colonoscopys, upper GI’s , lower GI’s, small bowel follow through. and many more.

   are you stressed out? are you, getting enough sleep?
   what foods are you eating that bother you (you should keep a food journal)….

   I am a Registered Nurse. I am not saying don’t go to the doctor, but try this first: It’s over-the-counter at your local pharmacy. It’s called "Digestive Advantage – Irritable bowel syndrome". It’s in a box by the antiacids, etc. Take two a day. Works for me! Good luck.

   most diagnoses of IBS are as a result of ruling out other more serious issues, like Crohn’s disease or duodenal ulcers. This is done with a battery of tests, including but not limited to colonoscopy, endoscopy, abdominal flat plate xrays, barium swallows, and hemmoculting stools in series.

   There is no actual test for IBS to my knowledge. A diagnosis of IBS actually means a lack of diagnosis! I would highly suggest they test you for Celiac Disease bc that is actually a far more accurate diagnosis.
