Has anyone with colon cancer that has gone to other organs had a remission? what chemo treatments were taken?
I have stage 4 colorectal cancer, in liver and lymph nodes,, on avastin, since doc 05 the tumors have decreased half in size but oncologist is still saying i am terminal and no surgery can be done. Went to Duke Cancer center in NC and they said the same thing. If anyone has had or has this type of cancer i would love to talk to you ! I was given 5 to ten months to live sept 04, then got very bad, went to Duke for second opinion, they put me on the avastin but only gave me two weeks to live, i was that bad. Today, i do anything i want to , altho i get tired walking so bought me a medical scooter hehe. But most days have no paini thanks to motrin and morphine, and feel normal enough to want to go fishing and camping and horse back riding again..and if someone had told me last year i would of ever felt like doing that again, i would of told them they were crazy! IF you have/had this cancer, do write me, as ido not know anyone else who has it ! thanks

To find out more on cancer and how you can beat it I found a great site!!
Hello! I am sorry but this has nothing to do with this question-I just read another one you posted about your goats but is was closed. I am so sad for you-I just love goats they are the sweetest creatures god ever made! I wholeheartedly believe our animals will be in heaven with us. God made animals and they are his children too so why wouldn’t they be there?! They have the sweetest little faces and I love to smooch them on their noses-I hope you get at least one goat for a companion, I realize your situation may limit you being able to have a few of them like you did before but one isn’t too much trouble is it? Plus I heard animals help you heal better when you are sick-worth a try eh? I hope you feel better and I am sorry you had to go through such a horrible experience (cancer) and then have your little freinds taken away like that, you must be so strong. Good luck to you and god bless!
I have terminal metastatic colon cancer diagnosed in April. Had an operation back in 2006 and thought I was cured.
I was told I had six months to a year if not treated and maybe another year if I took chemo. I self medicated on DCA (sodium dichloroacetate) and my second CT scan showed shrinkage as did my third. After the third my oncologist decided not to keep insisting on standard chemo since its purpose is to shrink tumors and mine already were shrinking. I had my third CT scan today and will see what it says on Thursday. I feel fine and have never had symptoms from the tumors in my lung.
I am not saying DCA is a cure but I may change my mind in a few days. This is the first CT scan that I expect good results from. The first two were both major surprises to the good side. DCA has few side affects, peripheral neuropathy is one. I have had this side affect but have been able to control it with vitamin B-1 at high doses.
If your interested you can get a lot of information at thedcasite.com. DCA is being trialed for a number of cancers at the University of Alberta http://www.depmed.ualberta.ca/dca/
And a clinic in Toronto will treat you with it if you want.
