Has anyone tried the Acai Berry/Colon Cleanse diet?
I desperately need to drop the 50 lbs I have packed on in the past few years of nursing school. Graduation is in one week, and then my wedding is on 9/9/09. I need a good jumpstart to motivate my weight loss attempt and get my energy level up. Heard these were good, but you never can believe the reviews about diet products. Anyone have any personal experience they can share? Good or bad idea? Any tips? THANKS!

From what I’ve read in interviews with trained nutritionists, cleanses don’t work. All they are capable of is helping you lose water weight, which will quickly come back after you go off of it.
I might give something like Alli a try though. I haven’t heard any reviews, but perhaps it will work.
I’m sorry I’m not much more of a help, but I tried a soup diet, hoping to lose only five to ten pounds, and found myself nearly passing out the third day. Try to eat more leafy greens, fruits, veggies, and lean protein like chicken or fish. Switch to water instead of soda. Even if the cleanse does work, I doubt you would drop 50 pounds. Don’t buy into the hype and do it right.
i can say DON"T take Orovo. it made me feel like i was cracked out the first week or so and then i just felt like crap. and you’re supposed to take like 6 horsepills a day. i am curious about the acai berry as well.
Its a colon cleanse…you just poop a lot….
No way in hell you’re going to drop 50lbs in a week, if you do, send me an email at wellitusedtobe[at]gmail.com so I can teach others how to do that. Now, it is possible to drop 50lbs by 9/9/09 (what a lovely date LOL). Just eat 6 small meals a day, and avoid carbs. Old fashion diet and exercise solves just about everything.
I’m afraid that dropping 50lbs in that short space of time is not healthy. It’s not safe to lose that amount of weight so quickly. And even if you did manage to do it, I guarantee that you will put all the weight back on again and more.
The route to successful slimming is a long and hard one. Like most things in life, persistence is the key to success. Don’t give up – ever.
