Does anyone out there tried colon cleansing? If so, did it work for you and what were the changes?
Did it work for you? If so how did it make you feel and how often do you do it if you practce this behavior? If you did it and it didn’t work, I would like to know that also.
Thanks

A colon cleanse is completely unnecessary unless you have digestive problems or a horrible diet.
Most colon cleanses are just a coarse source of fiber, along with a few herbs that can cause intestinal contractions, so if you want to try it, it can’t hurt.
I personally like the colonix from drnatura.com. It can safely be taken daily indefinitely, or as needed. You don’t have to buy the whole set (it’s expensive). The colonix alone is $69 with free shipping for 3 containers…which is enough for over 4 months even if you use it daily.
If you want something you can just pick up at a store, try Internal Flush. It’s available in the diet aids section at walmart. It’s nearly the same product as the colonix.
For a bare bones approach, you can just get a bulk fiber like metamucil to take during the day, and drink a cup of senna tea at night for intestinal stimulation.
Some cleanses also contain anti-parasitic herbs. The world health organization estimates that 1 in 3 people worldwide has intestinal parasites at any given time-and most exhibit no symptoms. Dr. Natura sells paranil. That site has some scary pictures not for the faint of stomache
Some benefits of the colon cleanse-
By getting rid of built up toxins, you will have more energy, sleep better, have less bloating/digestive difficulty, and possibly lose weight by getting rid of built up waste, and also clearing the path for a faster metabolism. Because everything you ingest is absorbed from the colon into the bloodstream, you will be better able to absorb the nutrients from your foods, as well as get medications in your system more efficiently, etc. Too many toxins-usually caused by eating too much red meat and/or foods filled with preservatives-will actually "poison" your blood stream, causing everything from headaches to a lowered immune system.
If you eat a normal American diet, chances are you could use a cleanse. I’d recommend atleast one a year.
I cleanse once a month with a mild colon cleanser called Colosan, a gentle colon hygiene with oxygen and magnesium. I feel lighter and overall better after a cleanse. Schedule a time to just stay home when doing the cleanse. I suggest a mild cleanse for first timers.
I tried the herbal stuff from the health shop, but it was an uncomfortable process, and I didn’t want to leave the house for fear of having to urgently get to a bathroom.
That was a couple of years ago.
But, since I have/had IBS, I felt like I had to do something to get my insides working right.
I changed to a diet of mostly fresh (raw or lightly steamed) veggies and fruits, lots of protein, and minimal processed foods and "junk" food (also went organic with as many items as possible). I incorporated regular exercise into my life, and started feeling better…but the real "cleansing" experience that pushed me to feeling great was combining lymphatic drainage massage with colon hydrotherapy. No more tender, inflamed bowels! It’s life altering (and for the better!).
Yes and it made me sick for a long time. In fact I don’t think I will ever be the same again. For many years I have tried various kinds of alternative health products to include colon cleanse, herbs, vitamins, algae, probotics, greens, chleation, enzymes, and on and on. They never did make me feel better. To the contrary, I always felt worse. I think I will stick to prescription medicine, reasonable diet, and walking or jogging to stay fit. These methods have been more beneficial to me personally.
Yes, I have done an intestinal cleanse. I used a product called Oxy-Powder. Initially, after I completed about 3 days. I felt pretty terrible, I had nausea and vomitting. I did a little research and I find out that these were normal detoxification results. I continued taking the Oxy-Powder. After about 2 weeks on the product, I began to feel better. I noticed after 3 months on the Oxy-Powder, that my stomach seemed alot flatter. I have also experienced an increase in my energery levels. I know not all products work for all people. I recommend this product to all my friends. If you have questions, you can call the company that makes Oxy-Powder. They will answer all questions in regards to the product or questions about cleansing.
