Do colon cleansers really work?
My sis has told me that they make you lose anywhere from 5-25 pounds depending on the state of your intestines and such. I’ve read articles about them and have seen all the infomercials. I’m mainly interested because if they did actually work, I’d want to clean out my intestines, since supposedly there’s like 5-22 pounds of compressed fecal matter in the average person’s intestines.

i read somewhere if you mix vegetable oil with water to the point where you can tolerate it and keep doing this as often as you want, you will cleanse your colon. the vegetable oil makes everything inside slip out.
wow i never new that. I imagine they do
My doctor advised against them, they are not good for you. You are better off trying a high fiber, low fat diet.
about it you can find information from the following website

There are many natural methods to colon cleanse. When you think about all the toxins that have built up from years of consuming processed food, you can just imagine what lies in the inside lining. Some toxins will stay there forever if not allowed to be flushed out.
You can see the new trend of protecting one’s body, both inside and out becoming the standard in health practices. All natural approaches, exercise and eating more natural foods all help us combat age, and illness.
I recommend that you at least try a natural, homemade Colon Cleanse and see for yourself it’s dramtic healthy feeling. Over the years, I have tried several ways of cleansing, but found a recent product very suited for my needs.

They do not make you lose any fat whatsoever. All they are is a fancy term for laxitives. There is not 20 plus pounds of fecal matter in your bowel unless you have a serious medical condition. It has happened.. but it is rare and you would have a severely bloated painful stomach. It isn’t something you would walk around with and not know. You will weigh less immediately after the ‘cleanse’ because your bowel is empty and you will be somewhat dehydrated. However, as soon as you stop the so called cleanse, your bowel refills to the normal amount and the weight comes back. It may even prove to be more of a problem on the scale, because immediately after using a cleanse your bowels are going to be more sluggish. It will take more time to start having normal bowel movements. When someone takes a laxitive to lose weight, like exlax.. society usually labels that person a bulemic. If they take even more laxitive, but it is labeled a ‘cleanse’ it is considered healthy. Shows you the power of advertising.
Of course colon cleansers are effective. As a matter of fact, many colon cleanser-users note that they lose a good chunk of weight. If you think about it, it really makes sense because all that waste has weight, so when you are doing a colon cleansing, you will certainly lose between 10 and 20 pounds of weight.
