Colon cleansing?
Does anyone know any good colon cleansers that actually work and are cheap?

Enemas are not good for your colon because it weakens the muscle because of the pressure

When I feel the need to do this I get a bottle of Magnesium Citrate and mix half of it with a glass of ice and 7-Up. Things start moving within the hour. Less than $2, but not very fancy.
you can just go with a good old fasion ennema. it cheep and it works.
Least expensive is warm water enema. Next is a bottle of citrate of magnesia, a carbonated preparation sold over-the-counter and used to induce a mild laxative effect. Various lubricants in plastic enema squeeze containers line a shelf in every pharmacy.
In recent years, detoxifying the colon has become one of the most popular therapies commonly recommended by natural health practitioners. For good reason since more than 50 percent of the immune system is located in or around the digestive system, especially the large intestine. This means that until the colon is thoroughly cleansed and the toxins removed, nutrients will not absorb properly, and digestion will be hindered – leading to constipation, gas, bloating, IBS, headaches, bad breath, allergy symptoms, PMS, fatigue, depression, irritability, frequent infections and weight gain.
Fortunately, there are a number of colon detox programs available to help you scrub and remove hardened fecal matter, toxic materials and parasites from the colon. Knowing how important it is to cleanse the bowels as a first step to obtaining and maintaining good health, we spent several weeks researching all the different colon cleansing products on the market for this special Detoxification Issue.
Most Popular Colon Cleansers
1) Effectiveness and safety based on ingredients
2) Effectiveness and safety based on customer feedback
3) Trust Factor & Guarantee
4) Value for the Price
#1 – Colonix Program by DrNatura.com
Verdict: This product has it all. It’s a well balanced, easy-to-use colon cleanse formula that also happens to taste good. There’s no other colon cleanser in existence with so much positive user feedback. We have personally examined DrNatura’s testimonial files and can verify their authenticity. We have also used the program several times with excellent results. The company has been around since 1998 with a solid track record. It has the most visited, easy to navigate website with a lot of good information. Its products are endorsed by several doctors. In our opinion, Colonix is the #1 colon cleanser on the market today.
#2 – The Perfect Cleanse by Garden of Life
Verdict: The Perfect Cleanse is a good short term cleanse with a solid company behind it. We feel that a thorough cleanse will take at least 30 days or longer to achieve, but this is a good start. Even though there is no money-back guarantee, the fact that Dr. Mercola recommends it is a strong selling point.
#3 – Puristat by Abbott Industries
Verdict: Puristat has an informative, professional-looking website, but their products are on the expensive side. We also don’t like the fact that they claim to cleanse your colon with a combination of two products only in 7, 14 or 21 days. We feel that a thorough cleanse will take much longer than that even with a more comprehensive program. Their pricing and discounts seem to be out of whack: When you buy two kits and get one kit free, they claim that to be a 67% discount when it’s only 33%. Even more weird, when you add the 21-Day Cleanse to the shopping cart, the price showing up is $539.70 retail, with the online price being $99.95. That would be an 80% discount. So which one is it: 33, 67 or 80%? All this confusion within two screens.
Aloe leaf, senna, cascara sagrada, ginger, and cayenne pepper are used in colon cleansing and restore the normal bowel movements. They enhance the bile secretion that helps in liver cleansing. E.g. barberry stimulates the function of liver and gall bladder, fennel and garlic destroy harmful bacteria in the colon. Both these herbs avoid formation of gas.
These colon-cleansing herbs are easily available in many health stores. You just need to follow the usage instructions on the ready to use packets carefully. Moderate usage will avoid too frequent bowel movements that can lead to dehydration. As you use these herbs regularly, you can judge the effectiveness of the herb and adjust your dosage accordingly. While cleansing your colon with these herbs, do not forget to take fiber in your meals. As you adopt healthier lifestyle changes like healthy diet and adequate consumption of water, you will find the health of your colon will improve faster.

I have heard that coffee is a very effective colon cleanser. I was watching a programme recently about celebrities who travelled to Thailand for an intensive detox programme. Every morning they would start with a colon coffee cleanse. They all seemed to be in favor of it after a few days. Food for thought.
