Add fiber to your diet.
A lot of my clients (as well as myself) have had success using a total body detox by Renew. It is a 4 capsule per day (2am; 2pm) regimen that is extremely gentle and effective. As stated, Nature’s Sunshine also has several products that can help with this imbalance. Their web site lists a complete description with each product.
Fiber, fiber, fiber. Start reading product labels, and find items that are high in fiber. Also, an easy way is to eat bran muffins for breakfast. Tasty and effective.
Eat some saurkraut and some dried apricots. Drink lots of water and exercise.
Fiber is good all right– but don’t forget the water or the fiber will just sit there. Get your RDA of both each day.
For quick fixes, try gooey brownies or oreos dunked in milk. Works for me to clean me out completely! Weird, yet true! Look for what works for you if this doesn’t.
add LOTS of fiber and drink plenty of water
You need to add more fiber and sometimes more water to your diet. Are you drinking enough water? You can get fiber and liquids by drinking certain fruit juices, like orange juice with the pulp. Try eating bran cereal or oatmeal in the morning. Try to cut down on heavy, starchy foods like potatoes or pasta, and eat some veggies w/ every meal. I find that a little coffee in the morning helps as well.
Eat plenty of fiber, eat plenty of veggies, drink LOTS of water, and drink a cup of coffee in the morning; the oils in the coffee really help "move things along" after breakfast. Good luck.
fiber fiber fiber. Now there are so many tasty things on the market that contain a good amount of fiber. And I’m not just talkin’ fruit and veggies. Although they are good sources of fiber, you can find it other places as well. Try to get 25-35 grams of fiber per day. Work up to it though. To much fiber can be a shock to your system and cause some stinky side effects.
What worked for me was walking around the block a couple nights a week, and taking these all natural "Flax Oil" gel capsules, not only that, but it helped reduce my psoriasis flare-ups, so I like ‘em, and they make a good weight loss additive. Fiber is good and all, and you do need water to help it move through, but also, eat 2-3 cups of yogurt a day, any brand, any flavor. It helps your digestive tract, which breaks down your foods better and easier, helping it to pass through easier.
You should always talk to a doctor before you start any type of special diet, because your body and your previous health conditions, personal hazards and your current weight can all impact the success of any "bowel cleansing" or other type of diet.
Laxatives, first of all, are ineffective, they just flush water and the contents of your intestines out and you can become dependent to the point where your body cannot move waste through your bowels without this "flush". It works inside your body in a similiar way as baking soda would with vinegar – explosive and chemical.
Fiber is a crucial nutrient you might lack in your diet. However, simply eating lots of food rich in fiber might not do the trick – fiber can sometimes bloat you. There are particular types of fiber. There’s fiber in an apple and fiber in wood pulp but you need to know what you should be putting in your body from a professional.
Your doctor of choice should be someone that has gastrointestinal experience. There are various types of regulatory pills that can be prescribed that work unlike a laxative would. Elderly and people who are very inactive due to medical conditions sometimes rely on these medicines to make it.
Metamucil and other such over-the-counter fiber supplements do a good job as well.
I would reccommend having a proper consultation. If you get the doctor’s okay and perhaps some guidance, I’d reccomend a detox of your insides. You should look up online nutritional detox at the very least, it’s too complex for me to type up in here (you’d get bored and scroll past my message then, it’s lengthy!) But your doctor should know just as well how to cleanse yourself.
I’d reccommend gastrointestinal specialists OR a good nutritionalist, perhaps one with natural and herbal remedy experience.
There is an herb called JP-X that is amazing for this problem. I have been taking it for several months and never have an issue with it anymore. It is all natural (only certain roots and leaves in it) and very gentle on the body. You can buy it at the link below or maybe try a health food store.
Also, try drinking at least half your body weight in ounces of water every day. The common misconception is that you need eight 8-ounce glasses a day, but this may not be enough for your body (or it may be too much).
Good luck! I know from personal experience how miserable constipation can be. I’m so grateful not to have the problem anymore. I’m happy to pass along how I got rid of it.

Drink a 1/4 cup of pasteurized apple cider vinegar on day 1, like Heinz for example — it does not have to be organic! And for the next 6 – 13 days or so, take 2 tbspn. 3 times daily with water. After that, you will no longer suffer from constipation! Trust me, I’ve tried it and it worked! I actually gotten the remedy from http://www.earthclinic.com.
By the 2nd week, I no longer suffered from chronic constipation
As many have said, fibre/roughage is the answer. Bran coupled with plenty of fruit and vegetables will do the trick.
