his Doctor ordered a colonoscopy and fortunalty found nothing to be wrong there, now the doc wants to send him to an anal specialist but sais no need to worry about the prostate but yet that is where the pain is? The Doctor did not want to talk to us about thta at all and kept avoiding the question any suggestions or web sites we can go to to look into this further i love him dearly and want to keep him in good health please any comments are greatly appreciated

About 2 weeks ago we started potty training not successful with the bowel movements,he had held his stool in for days and when he finally decided to go he would push out huge rock stools and since then hes been fussy complaining about his butt hurting, he also has a horrible rash on his leg and stomach,im so stressed Ive taken him to two doctors and they just told me to give him suppositories,I just don’t know why he yells out in pain even when hes not having a bowel movement,what could cause his butt to hurt? I looked there is not any tears/bleeding im confused and upset because I cant help him,its affection our lives because hes soo fussy and we don’t know how to comfort him,they also say his rash is called rosacea but it keeps spreading and seems to be getting worse, I just need some advice..

My cousin has rectal cancer. He has been using Fentanyl patches. He thinks that they offered him some relief in his pain. Now, he is starting to take MS Contin because of very bad break-through pain. Is there a person who has taken BOTH of the drugs listed in this post who could tell me which medication is best for eradicating pain? Please let me know. My cousin is still in terrible pain.

Dear reader i’m just posting for some advice,my husband has prostatitis and the doctor prescribed him 100mg doxycycline twice a day,
He has been taking the medicine for three days, how long does this medicine usually take to have effect?

I am writing as i am concerned about my Wife, if anyone could help us that would be great. Last night she was crampy as if she were on her period,but she had it a week ago, so thought it was weird. The next day (today) she was still crampy and then had a clot of blood come from her rectum when she was going to the bathroom… number 2.

What could this be? She is in no actual pain down there but is still crampy just underneath her ribs, unlike yesterday’s more period pain symostoms. She describes her stomach pain as the feeling she gets after drinking too much milk.

I have a suspected peptic ulcer. Could rectal bleeding have something to do with that? When the doctor did a rectal exam he didn’t find anything wrong. But when I pass stools I find a little blood, even though I don’t have any pain in the bowel area.

I always have sharp rectal pains during my period. It hurts so much that I cant stand or drive. The pains cause me to jump up sometimes and last for a few moments. But when ever I go to poop the pain is so intense I feel like puking and passing out. Every month during my period I feel like I cant even get out of bed it hurts so badly. think all I have is some bad gas…but I just want to be sure. I have never experienced this kind of pain and pressure before. It started last night. I started to feel like I needed to go #2…I was watching a movie so I put it off. then I started feeling worse very quickly. My lower stomach was cramping…like in my uterus area. I had a lot of lower back pain with rectal pressure. So I went to the bathroom and did go #2, but the pain just got worse as I went. The pressure started to turn into sharp pains. I stayed on the toilet thinking I still needed to go…but I didn’t. Eventually I gave up and stumbled to my couch. The pain was really bad. I couldn’t do anything but lay on my couch and squirm. I was sweating and feeling nausea and light headed. I finally felt ok enough that I didn’t think I’d pass out and I got up and took 2 Tylenol. Then I collapsed back on my couch for about 4 hours. It hurt all night long but not as bad as it was. I am still having lower stomach and back pain and rectal pressure. And the pain intensifies when I go to the bathroom. There is no blood or anything like that.

Is that just gas or something worse?

What is it called? Sometimes it is so bad that you have to stand on your toes to bare it. LOL sorry I didn’t mean to laugh but it is not funny when it happens in public and it makes you stand still. I have actually had to hold on to something while standing on my toes. I know one other person this has happened too anyone else?

Hello people,
After the bowel discharge, the pain starts which last for 6 to 7 hours. When I check the toilet after being done with discharging I see a lot of blood. I know it is related to constipation. When ever I take about 25 gram fiber a day, it help a little bit, but as soon as I take less than 20 gram of fiber, that makes the stool hard, and the sharp pain reoccurs. The pain is so bad that I cannot do anything. NOTHING. Whatever my plans are I just put them aside after bowel movement. I don’t study, I don’t got out, I just lay with my back facing the wall. What is it? Please help me. Thank you in advance.

Alright, so sometimes when I am just sitting in class or chilling and watching TV I will have the most god-awful prostate/rectal pains imaginable. They come with no warning and it almost feels like a surging pain. I am 21 years old and have been experiencing these surges randomly for years…I am in good health-I am 6′4" 185…sometimes it only happens like once a week, other times it is more frequent…Anyone have similar pains or know what the hell is the matter with me?

I sometimes feel as though something is crawling around inside my rectal area. What is this? On a daily basis it constantly feel like Im tightening my rectal muscles and I have to consciously try to release the tightening of that muscle and not do it. Alright, I’m an adolescent guy. (13). I have been having an irritated rectum for a few days (like 5). It was and still is, itchy. Today, I went to the bathroom and wiped my butt to remove the itch, but then there was blood on the toilet paper. I was at school, but when I got home, I asked my mom. She went to sleep w/o helping, so now, I just found blood again. It is only small amounts, I am not going to bleed to death, but I just wanted to know if anything is suggested. I used Vaseline which removed itchiness until I had to "pass stool" we shall say. As soon as the Vaseline was removed, the pain returned and was worse.

I have been awakened at night by severe rectal pain (lasting about 5 painful minutes) so I looked it up and found that it’s called Proctalgia fugax, a severe, episodic rectal pain that usually occurs at night, a muscle cramp in the wrong place at the wrong time, rectal spasms or just plain pain in the anus…
It could last a few seconds to a few minutes so most people do not even report it to their doctors.

Warm baths and massages seem to relieve it but I’d like to know if any one of you people found other true and tried methods to relieve that pain in the butt fast.
I do not have IBS, I’m very regular and eat lots of fiber and have no problem my my digestive system.

I’ve been bleeding for awhile, and spoke to my doctor about it almost 4 months ago and she said not to worry. Lately though there has been a much greater amount of blood. The blood tends to be bright red and there isn’t a lot of it on a good day, but sometimes the blood is much darker and seems clotted. However, my stool is not black.

It’s not painful, it’s just a little frightful. I’m 17 and do take fluoxetine, wellbutrin, and trazodone every day. The trazodone tends to give me head aches, so I take AC&C, but there is absolutely no pain indicating that I may have a stomach ulcer. Also, I cannot stop taking these medications to see if that has an impact. My headaches are so severe that i can’t imagine going without the codeine either.

Is this a big problem? Should I go to my local clinic or just wait for an appointment with my doctor?

I am 20 year old male and sometimes when i get the urge of getting a bowel movement, I sometimes get a sort of spasm like sensation coming from my rectal area…its not exactly a pain, but its a sensation that feels like its sucking in and like a needle prick like at the same time from within…the spasm lasts only like 3 seconds and once i defecate everything is fine.. * severe rectal bleeding even in my pants up to 20 times a day and it fills thw whole toliet bowl (3 months)
* vision loss in right eye sometimes left too (3 months)
* fatigue (2 years)
* dizziness (2 months)
* joint pain (last 8 months)
* mouth ulcers (4 months)

I am a 21 year old female. I am being treated with prilosec otc for acid reflux. My doctor had asked me if I had any blood in my stools. I know it may be funny, but I look at my stools every time I pass one. I had not had blood in my stool until today. I have been on prilosec for a week now. This morning, I had a bowel movement and there was a lot of blood. Not mixed in with my stool. It was also dripping from me. I am in no pain at all, am not constipated, or having trouble passing my stools. This happened the same night. Same amount of blood and no pain. I am worried something may be wrong but I am not sure what. It is Saturday, my doctor is obviously not in on Sunday. Is this something I should get checked out right away or wait a few days and see. I have not had anything like this happen to me before.

I’m 16 and female.. a few months ago my rectum started hurting really bad randomly… and then recently it started bleeding when I went to the bathroom and has gotten worse and worse..now it bleeds even when I don’t defecate but just urinate.. I know I should go to the doctor and have it looked at but its really embarrassing and I want to have an idea of what I might be dealing with before I go there… any ideas?
