besides occult (invisible) blood, i have heard of colon cancer and polyps causing bleeding, besides the other symptoms like diahrea and constipation and very thin stools like pencils…..i have also had a family member who had a polyp and bled ALOT in the toilet….supposeldy this is also the case with cancer but i was just wondering if most cases with this type of cancer bleed in that fashion, besides the tarry black sludge like stools that are also common….i was just wondering

I had 3 small polyps removed about 5 years ago that were not cancerous I was wondering what the chances of them coming back and turning into cancer .I just dont want to go through the test again. My doc said colon cancer is rare so im not as worried but would like other oppions.
My husband had colon polyps 15 years ago and is now diagnosed with prostate cancer. Could there be a relationship to that?
There appears to be a range of discretion in the medical literature about treating a proliferation of precancerous ("adenomatous") colon polyps – from periodic surveillance colonoscopy with polectomy, to surgery to remove some or all of the colon? What are the factors and considerations a patient and doctor should consider in determining an appropriate course of treatment within this range of options?
I need some information on colon polyps. What causes them, how serious are they, what can be done? A very close friend of mine has been having problems and suspects polyps. I am very worried about him. Please, if you know ANYTHING, let me know.
