Which drugs could these be and how long do you expect for them to start showing results

i have been struggling with irritable bowel syndrome for a week now. I was prescribed Levsin to help relax my bowels, Although I take the medication every four hours like i’m supposed to I still have trouble eating, I went for 4 days and did not eat. I finally ate and the first few times i didn’t have an attack, but i starting to have stomach pain after the last meal. Is there certain foods that are better for me to eat, or am I just going to have to deal with this the rest of my life! Please help me!

i tried antidepressants, bentyl, eating more fiber, peppermint oil enteric tablets, probiotics, herbal supplements, went to psychiatrists, etc etc

But still no relief in symptoms and pain. My father says IBS is fake and that he does not recognize it. He says it is psychological and that i’m fine but pretending to be in discomfort.

How to let my medically illiterate father know the pain and discomfort is real? I have had lots of fights and arguments with him on this topic.

I am 28 and have suffered from it for 13years and have not found a dr that thinks i’m "old enuf" or "bad enuf" Would love to see them live a day in my shoes… So I was just wondering, what options are out there for treatment. I’ve used Imodium and Maalox etc… But don’t seem to last longer then an hr and arn’t always effective. I can’t bare to leave the house without knowing there will be a washroom at my convience at any given time. Any advice would be great! Thanks in advance

I get IBS pains so bad that I once blacked out and I press my stomach in as far as I can and just rock back and forth praying for God to take the pain away. I also get lightheaded and naseous and cold sweats. How does this compare to labor (feeling wise)?

i have most of the symptoms but i want to make sure, what kind of tests do i have to take? and if it turned out that i do have IBS i know there is no treatment for it so what do you suggest i should eat or take as a pain relief?

I hear about BRAT diet when the bowel is irritated is that just for kids? Is pasta easy to digest and red meat hard?,,,,

Stomach cramps,gas,constipation, straining to use the bathroom? Pain in the lower and upper stomach? Sometimes thinking I need to use the bathroom when it ends up just being gas? I know I need to go see the Doctor and I am in the process of going, I was just in the meantime needing some advice and information. Thanks.
while I have pain in the upper stomach it isnt like the lower stomach area.

One of my cats, Davis, had his (9 year) senior check up and blood work. His general exam and blood panel look great. Davis has appeared to have a sensitive stomach at times over the years. He eats, drinks, has clear eyes, normal behavior and a great coat.

He has bloody, loose stools and has lost 1 pound in two months. He tested + for giardia 5 days ago. Our vet gave him an injection to calm his intestine and sent home 5 doses of anitbiotic. After 3 days of medication, there was still blood in his stool. The vet was surprised the injection didn’t help. He said to check in on Monday and let him know how Davis is doing.

The vet is wondering if Davis may have irritable bowel and possibly need prescription food.

Aside from the Giardia we are treating, do you have ideas on what food is best for his sensitive system?

I free-feed 6 cats. So they would all be on the same food. Two are asthmatic and get flovent daily. Otherwise, we are all in great shape. ; )

I have recently been diagnosed with IBS, I went to the doctor complaining of groin pain and abdomen pain, I then had an x-ray. He said he could not find anything and I had allot of gas, my mother has IBS which also gave him the idea of IBS, and that is why I have pain in my groin also, could my IBS also cause pain in my testicles and penis do to gas pressure?

I have had a "nervous stomach" for a couple of days now and flatulence. How do I know if this is a stomach virus that will pass or if I have irritiable bowel syndrome, or what??

I’m 11 weeks pregnant and for the past 2 weeks I have been having terrible stomach pains and diarrhea nearly every time I eat. I can’t relate it to any particular type of food and on rare occasions it doesn’t happen at all. Did anyone else have this?

Some people say it’s regular constipation, some say it’s regular diarrhea, some say its constipation that comes and goes, some say it’s diarrhea that comes and goes, some say it alternates between the two, some say its BOTH at the same time.. like bowel movements that start hard and then get softer and then get runny toward the end…

Now i know citalopram is usually used to treat depression but i have been given it to treat ibs. Does anyone know if this is true?

i went in to donate plasma and they asked if i had diarrhea regularly. i do have it semi regularly so i went and got a doctor to check it out. he just said (after a stool sample etc.) that i just have slight IBS. the plasma center then said i couldn’t give… why is this?
