Some people say it’s regular constipation, some say it’s regular diarrhea, some say its constipation that comes and goes, some say it’s diarrhea that comes and goes, some say it alternates between the two, some say its BOTH at the same time.. like bowel movements that start hard and then get softer and then get runny toward the end…

I feel like I am on a pooping schedule. If I eat a big meal, I have to poop about 10 minutes after, like clockwork. Other than that, I dont really have a problem with my bowels and my stomach doesnt hurt a lot or anything. I just poop a lot and when I eat heavy, always 10 minutes after, I have to go. Could this be irritable bowel or something else?

I am a relatively healthy 19 year old female. It seems like I have most all of the symptoms of IBS on a somewhat regular basis but I have read in several places that to have it you have to be over 50. Well, I am considering going to my Doctor but just want to make sure I’m not overreacting first.
What is the cause of Irritable Bowel Syndrome and is it genetic?
