why do you need a colonoscopy? what could the outcome be?

tis mean?? Reason for colonoscopy…blood loss of 4 pints via vomiting. Light was put down and all good. But light put up a problem duee to blockage. Now a barium enema…is this normal. Does this mean something serious could be happening?

Who is in the room with me WHEN they do the colonoscopy?

Before the colonoscopy will they check you before they slide in the camera?

Will I be sleeping DURING the colonoscopy? or just really really drugged.

i have had some recent rectal bleeding and am due to get a colonoscopy soon… (probably around the first or second week of November)

what should i expect? and can i drive myself there and back? or do i need a ride?

I’m uninsured and 50 and I would like to have a colonoscopy but have no idea how much will it be. hope there is some here who knows.

this is my first colonoscopy, what can i eat or drink for the next three days? And what’s to be expected? im a little nervous it will hurt. is there any remedies or over-the-counter drugs i should be taking?

Does anyone know when a doctor suggests that a colonoscopy should not be performed due to age and what age?

I am preping for a colonoscopy and have to drink this electolyte stuff but I can not drink more than half the container I’m wondering if that will be enough to cleanse my system.

I was told not to eat or drink anything red, purple, or orange. I don’t know why I didn’t think of it but I guess it was just me being hungry and I ate 2 little cups of it. I’ve read that it could look like blood if its not digested, but is there anything I can do? I know if I tell them they will probably want to reschedule my colonoscopy tomorrow. Is there a way I can be honest if they ask and they will still do it?

I had a colonoscopy three weeks ago. The doctor said that everything looked normal – no signs of polyps or diverticulitis. I had the colonscopy because I’ve been seeing red blood in my stools and bleeding from my rectum intermittenly. Two days ago I saw bright red blood in my stools. I don’t know if I should follow up with my gastroenterologist or not. I’m not in any pain or discomfort.

I feel like this is terribly disgusting to have to go through for one colonoscopy. anyone ever been tortured with this drink?

Im 21 years old been having a lot of abdominal discomfort for 2years been to numerous doctors with no answers. So they are going to do endoscopy and colonoscopy on me. Should i be worried? is this a safe procedure? Im terrified.

I had a colonoscopy due to IBS getting so much worse. I feel like something else besides the IBS is going on. I’m thinking Crohns, but the doctor didn’t mention that–only that I may need additional tests he would dicuss at follow up visit. I was really scared when this happened. I took sodium phosphate and enemas — I think they prescribed too much stuff for me. I’m not underweight, but my teeth were chattering and I was shivering. Thanks!

I had a colonoscopy yesterday and the doctor says I have IBS. When reading my report, which didn’t list many details, it says my cecum is normal and it was biopsied… is this something that is normally done or could there be a reason behind it?
