Is it possible to transplant an esophagus? What is a colon (health related, not math or english)?
Can you transplant parts of the esophagus? What is a bowl/bowel? Is it possible to get an esophagus transplant as of 2010, was it possible before? Why?
(I tried looking this stuff up but keep getting different answers…
I have no family history of cancers at all except an aunt who died from breast cancer. But, I have had ulcerative colitis for around 5-6 years in the entire colon (and 1 yrbefore that on the left side only). I am going to start my yearly screenings in a week..(full colonoscopy with biopsies) apparently because my risk of cancer increases after living with UC for that long.. should i be worried or are the chances still very slim? I ve been in remission for 5 years now but i read that the period in which the disease is in remission has no connection to the chances of getting cancer.. any thoughts?

I found out I have FAP when I was 12 and I was just wondering if anybody has had kids when they have had it, but not passed it on to their kids. I already have pre-cancerous cells in my stomach and colon, and I have to have surgury during winter break this year, and I’m so worried. I told my boyfriend about it and he wants to be at the hospital when i have my surgury. Do you think I’m going in the right direction? Or should I just adopt so I can’t take a risk?
Six years ago I started having pain in my lower abdomen (around the ascending colon area. After having an ultrasound I was told nothing was wrong. Every year I go back and the do ultrasound and bloodtests and they come back normal. This year the pain suddenly got much worse and I;m losing about 2 lb a week without diet or exercise. I’m overweight so this isn’t a huge problem but is concerning. I had a colonoscopy, blood work (blood and parasite check), stool sample, and an ultrasound of my upper abdomen.. Everything was normal except my thyroid. Dr diagnosed hypothyroidism. Thought that caused weight gain not loss? GI DR said The 2 years of diarrhea was IBS and that it was unrelated to abdominal pain. So I cut stress, dairy and caffeine and the diarrhea went away. Yeah! lower abdominal pain gets worse. It feels very bruised and tender to touch.
I don’t eat red meat and I try to eat only organic unrefined foods. I have PCOS, Asthma, fibromyalgia, IBS, and hypothyroidism. I do not take medicine of any kind. I had a baby 8 months ago. Pregnancy went well no problems, healthy home birth without drugs. I don’t smoke or drink. I’m 5’5" and 180lbs. I normally have a very difficult time losing weight. Even on an 800 calorie diet (dr prescribed) and 4 miles a day.
I am hypo not hyper and i’d be very surprised if I didn’t have fibromyalgia. I’m pretty much always in pain and every few months I’ll spend a couple days barely being able to walk.
I was tested for celiac and results were negative. I go gluten free most of the time anyway.
I have been "diagnosed" with Crohns disease and ulcerative colitis"…but i feel that every medication i take cause’s more symptoms and more side effects…in fact the more medicine i take…the worse i feel…i am starting to really doubt not only my diagnosis..but i am doubting that every problem in life must be solved with loads of strong medications…are bodies are probally close to toxic with everything we take on a daily basis..so despite my doctor family i want to live my life medicine free….where do i start vitamin wise and food wise any suggestions of something that manages good colon health?

Ive been having problems when i go to the bathroom and do number 2. it burns every time it happens and it isnt getting better. yeah there are days where it doesnt burn and i feel great. but then there are other days where i feel like my intestines burn like hell. up to my chest is where the burning is at. ive seen a doctor and told him everything possible thats wrong with me and all he gives me is ibuproffin or an inhailer. WTF?! (sorry if i cant spell) i just wanted to know if there is something i could take to have a healthy colon. thank you for your time.
I was at the ER department recently of a hospital in New Jersey and I was diagnosed with inflammatory colitis and an infection of the right side of the ascending colon and transverse colon being identified as a "wall" that was thickening. I am currently on the second day of two antibiotics, Levaquin and Flagyl, 750 milligrams and 500 milligrams. I was wondering, by the end of my infection and inflammation, does the parasite or bacterial infection come out through defecation (or, excuse my language, "pooping") or is it eliminated from the colon in a different way that the Levaquin and Flagyl team up on chemically? Thanks and ten points for best answer.
Hi i have recently been diagnosed with crohn’s disease it affects my colon and small intestines , but latly i am having a flar up and i have been getting painful Mouth ulcers do you think this could be related to the crohn’s disease evan if it only affects these 2 areas ?
Ok so for quite a long time now I have been having problems going to the bathroom. When I go it hurts really bad and I start to bleed from my butt. But this is only sometimes. I went to the doctor and was tested for ulcers and came out negitive. He told me I had colonitis (spelling). I was put on meds but after a month it didnt work. I figured he was wrong. Plus he really didnt take the time at all didnt even look or anything. I thought it was a fissure. But I’m not sure. I started using baby wipes instead of regular toliet paper cause it made it worse. Now it is getting to the point where if I don’t bleed it burns for hours and then itches. I wanted to see what others thought. And if they had any ideas how to treat it. Thanks
does anyone know if colon cancer is a fast or slow growing disease? i’ve tried to look online but i haven’t really found the answer.
I was reading recently that insurance companies are now using family history to calculate rates and even deny coverage where they can perceive a loss or bad investment. I believe most corporate employees are protected from such scrutiny and must be allowed to join group policies except where pre-existing conditions allow the insurance company to opt out. But, self-employed or employees of say a small private school may not he able to obtain reasonably priced coverage because their Mom’s dad had a heart attack, colon cancer, etc…
I have some questions bout colon cancer. How does this disease Develop? how common is this disease what possibilities are there for recovery? what treatments will be necessary and what is the survival rate for patients with this disease
or know of a healthfood store in my earea of wapaca county? i have been told this would help me in so many aspects & im so tired & run down & gaining so much weight umong other health issues & heard alot of great things about colin cleansing help !im so tired of feeling like crap!
I dont want to get them treated, only removed, but if they are just going to come back them Id rather just leave them alone, but Im scared about the possible risk of colon cancer. Has anyone had them removed, if so how do they do it.
I figure SEMEN was mean’t to line the walls of a woman’s reproductive organs,,BUT not the WALLS of a MAN’S COLON. KEEP on mixing the right fluids and BANG you got a new disease.
I have been reading on the health benefits of Colon cleansing. Has anyone ever done this and if so, what product did you use and how was the results?
Wednesday, my dad found my uncle in his home after not hearing from him since Monday, dead on the floor. He had rectal bleeding from what we are not sure. My mom went inside and found a notebook in which my uncle had listed all his doctors, his sons from his previous marriage, his bank account numbers, his birth certificate and a few other personal things. On the floor beside him, was a lot of pills but there was an assortment. He lay on the floor holding his side which means he had some kind of pain. My dad had mentioned that he had been saying before that if anything was to happen to him, for my dad to take care of everything. And my uncle’s girlfriend said he spoke as if he knew something was going to happen to him. Do you think he committed suicide or died from one of these diseases; ulcerative colitis of the colon, degenerate disces of spine, hypertension, or enlarged prostate.
We are going to have an autopsy done, but we are waiting until we can contact all his kids and get ahold of his insurance policy to see who is the beneficiary so my dad can use that money instead of the money out his pocket(he’s had to bury 2 of his other brothers and his dad so he doesn’t really have the extra money to throw away). We understand and he’s going to get an autopsy done, but if they begin doing it, we will have to pay.
My uncle had colon cancer and after chemo the cancer is no longer detectable. He is still in pain and in poor health. The doctor said that he has air in his colon. What causes this? The doctor seemed very worried and I am trying to help my aunt find info on it.
I am 14 and have Crohn’s Disease in my colon, and nowhere else. I have had it since I was three. I was looking at Crohn’s on a website called www.ehealthmd.com and it says ‘PEOPLE WITH CROHN’S DISEASE HAVE A SLIGHTLY HIGHER INCIDENCE OF COLON CANCER THAN THE GENERAL POPULATION!!!’ I am so freaked out! I don’t want to get colon cancer!!! It also says that Crohn’s patients should get regular screenings 8 years after diagnosis and it’s been more than that, and I only have colonoscopies every 3 or 4 years or less! I don’t want to get colon cancer. I didn’t even know that people with Crohn’s were more likely to get it.
if a person is healthy and has no colon problems can they eat a little popcorn everyday? i know its weird but im addicted to it.
