I have been having pain after eating, bloating, and I have a lot of the symtoms of IBS. I was wondering if there was anything I could do at home to flush out my digestive track. There are sooo many kits out there and it’s hard to pick the right one. what I do is eat nothing but fruits and veggies for a week and I notice that I loose 2-3 inches off my waist from doing this and all my symtoms disapear. I have taken prilosec, tums and what not, but the pain is all in my lower abdomen not my stomac or chest. Anything else I should do?
Colon Cleansing Archives
I would like to hear from others who have done this.
What method did you use, how long did it take and what differences did you notice in your health afterwards (positive and/or negative).
prefer buying it over the counter at a pharmacy or drugstore and not thru the infomercial websites. Do they really clean all the "crap" from inside of you and all the walls etc. Would appreciate suggestions and insight to some of your experiences. thank you
I have never been one of those people that had a bowel movement everyday…but for the last few days I have had a bowel movement at least once a day..yesterday twice..(sorry tmi)..I was wondering anyone else had this same situation?? Did you go into labor soon after??? Do you all think this is like cleansing my body for getting ready to go into labor?? Thanks in advance for answering…Im so excited to have my baby boy…
any good colon cleansers? i am taking fiber therapy pills everyday and still feel constipated and bloated.. i thought one good cleansing and I would be off to a better start..
My friend and I are having a debate about colon cleansing. He says that everyone should have it done and it’s necessary for optimal health. I say that it’s not necessary, but only optional. I think that the authors of those books and the creators of these colon cleansing programs are just trying to find a way to take advantage of and make money off of people who don’t know enough about the human body and how it works. What are the pros and cons of a colon cleansing? Is it really necessary?
Does it work, and what is the best product?
I am getting ready to start the Renew Cleanse Smart 30 day program. In order to prepare myself, I’ve been doing some preliminary things for the past 2 weeks to help my mind and body for a smoother start (Epsom salt baths, dry skin brushing, Castor oil packs, yoga, extra fiber, etc). During the past 2 weeks, I’ve noticed that my weight has consistantly gone down a little bit. However, today I weighed myself and I’ve gained 3 pounds in 3 days. What could be the cause of this? I’m eating healthy and have not been consuming extra calories this week. I’m having regular bowel movements so I don’t think it’s constipation that is causing the extra weight. This is my first cleanse though so I don’t know if this is normal to lose and gain along the way.
I ate some undercooked beef and I got very bad diarrhea that has still been going after about 2 1/2 days afterwards, I figure that’s the symptom of having one..will this flush out the parasite and any eggs it has laid? Thanks
I am sure you can go to a doctor and get a procedure.
There are pills.
Then there is that liquid concoction you can make at home.
Which is the best way to get a clean colon?
I will be starting the master cleanse soon and I would like to know the minimum that I can take the laxative tea/salt water solution? I don’t want this to interfere with my job, so can I just take it in the evening before bed? Is every couple of days possible?
Also, do I need to do both laxative tea AND salt water or just one? How should I switch off between the two?
I had gastric bypass, which was pretty much similar in the terms of being on a liquid diet and starving, and I didn’t have to do any laxatives or saline and I was fine in terms of bowel issues. Other than the fact that I had very few.
Sorry about all the questions, I hope there are some experts out there to help me! Thanks ![]()

What exactly is "colon-cleansing"? And how do I know if I need it? I am 17 years old male who is experiencing constant constipation by the way.
Need to hear from people who have done home remedy colon cleanses- give me some ideas, some regimens to follow, etc. I’m open to anything- the best answer will be the one I decide to follow- thanks
i read in a article:
How to Do the Master Cleanse
In a nutshell, the Master Cleanse is this:
* The diet takes at least 10 days (up to 40 days, the period of time that Jesus fasted after his baptism, as Burroughs points out)
* The only nourishment that you take is a special lemonade concoction made from lemon juice, maple syrup, cayenne pepper, and water, six to twelve glasses per day, each glass containing about 110 calories in sugar carbohydrates
* An herbal laxative tea is drunk at night and a quart of salt water is drunk first thing in the morning, resulting in several liquid bowel movements every day — you need to always be near a toilet when you do this diet, and you need to stock up on toilet paper
* You come off the diet by transitioning to solid food over a few days, ideally becoming a raw food vegetarian in Stanley Burroughs’ version of the diet
Can I just drink only the special lemonade..not the salt water or herbal laxative tea?
and still lose weight?
What did they do and did you see results? What kind of doctor? I did take a natural supplement called colon cleansing from but noticed nothing. I drink tons of water with fresh lemons all day and 2-3 cups of green or black tea a day but what else can I do?
If It involved my rectum I didn’t want it done I just didn’t know why people had it done as to what benefits did they see by doing such a thing.
im wondering because theyve been talking about it on CNN and stuff, and i wanna see whats so speacil about it…
I’ve had a "broken" bowel since I was about 6 years old. I’ve been to doctors time and time again, and they just send me home saying I’m constipated. I only have bowel movements maybe twice a month, if I’m lucky. I can’t see a gastroenterologist without a referral, and I can’t get a referral because none of the doctors think anything is wrong with me. I’ve not had regular bowel movements for 19 years, I know that’s not constipation. So, my question is: Does anyone have any home remedies that will drastically cleanse my colon that require seeing a doctor???? (Since they aren’t helping me anyway). One more thing…laxatives don’t work. I’ve tried EVERYTHING that I can think of. So ANY help at all will be GREATLY appreciated!! Thanks in advance!
((I’ve even tried the enemas..those are only a quick fix…and even then it doesn’t seem to do much at all..)
Colon cleansing is suppose to help take out all the toxic we recieve from food we eat and from the environment. It makes since to do, besides cleansing our skin. I hear that acne is a sign of internal problems.
Does someone tried the Digest It Colon Cleansing product and know if works? I read a lot about Digest It Colon Cleansing and wonder if someone tried this product and found it helpful. If you tried it please answer.
Thanks guys
I’ve heard about colon cleanses, especially the lemonade cleanse, and to be honest, I really do think its true. It’s just that, when I asked my doctor, he said he had never heard of colon cleanses.
My parents are skeptical and I’ve been really frustrated lately. I have a really slow bowel movement and when I DO go, I feel like there is still more to pass. I always feel full and bloated and its so uncomfortable.
I’ve been drinking prune juice but am not sure which one is more effective – hot or cold? Does it really help constipastion?. Does anyone have any opinions on the Master Cleanse and any suggestions to solve my problem, besides eating more fibre and fruits? =\
Thanks much!
For the past year, I have been having on average three to four bowel movements per day, sometimes more. They always feel unfinished, and I get cramps and gas often. I rarely get constipated, and I get dhiarrea occasionally, but usually it’s just regular stool. The stool is usually thin in shape. I used to have just one bowel movement per day, and afterward I would feel totally relieved, and sort of energized. Now it’s totally the opposite. Sometimes my bowel movements smell like a dead animal, and I get gas that smells like that sometimes.
Is it possible I have a bowel obstruction, or is it just Irritable Bowel Syndrome? I tried giving myself saline enemas, and not much came out. I also tried taking colon cleanse laxatives, and I got a little diarreah, but thats about it.
It’s ruining my life, I am 30 years old and it’s making it hard for me to have a social life like this, and I sometimes dread going to work because I have to poop so many times, and I get so much gas.
Colon cleansing? What is the best brand of colon cleanser? I want something under $80? Does it work?
I heard that colon cleansers not only help you cleanse your system but also you may lose a little bit of weight in your belly, I for one know that i need it for cleansing, i dont have regular bowel movements usually twice – three times a week for me, i know if i take a cleansing system i can get all this junk out of my system, i would like to know if anyone has tried any of this methods and does it work and have you lost weight! Please dont give a lecture on eating right and seeing a doctor, i just want to know about what is the good brand to use and if it works.
I did the cleanse today at 9 in the morning on an empty stomach and aftera while like around 10 i had to go and i had watery diharrea i went in an out of the bathroom like 4 or 5 times with watery diharrea and its like almost 6….will my next bowel movement be like this again watery diaherra?
