Colon Cleansing Archives

I have IBS and my bowels are completely off, i’m always constipated and gassy. I eat enough fiber and drink tons of water.. i just need to get this out of the way. I hate being bloated and gassy all the time and i hate the frustration of not being able to go to the bathroom when i clearly need to.

So my question, which work better? Colon cleanses or colon probiotics? How long until they’re effective? Thanks

I’ve had this problem for as long as I can remember, but I’m getting so fed up with it. It’s really starting to take a toll on my life. I constantly feel constipated, to the point that I can’t have any normal bowel movements. I don’t understand because I eat healthy and I exercise, but it doesn’t seem to help. I’ve tried eating more fiber, and it doesn’t seem to make much of a difference. And I’ve tried a sort of bowel cleanse (similar to taking laxatives but not as strong). After a while, I get so constipated that I eventually get really bad diarrhea that becomes almost uncontrollable. When I try to go, its really hard, but when I’m not it seems to want to come out automatically.

It’s a really embarrassing problem and I hate it. I’ve been to the doctor and she told me to start eating more fiber (which I did). She said if I didn’t see any improvements to come back and they’d have to look into giving me colonoscopy and possibly surgery. I’m afraid to go to that length. Does anyone have any advice or any idea what’s causing this and how to treat it?

This started happening last night when I decided to sleep on my back without a pillow. I heard it was good and better to sleep without a pillow, so I tried it. At first I felt my back relaxing and I was enjoying it until I decided to turn on my right side. That’s when I felt a sharp pain on my left chest. I got up quickly and started breathing in and out slowly. The pain didn’t disappear completely as I kept breathing, but it got better between now and then.

I went back to sleep and the pain faded as I started to fall a sleep. In the morning I thought everything would go back to normal, but I noticed I have a constant pain on the same area. It’s bearable, I’m not bother with it to the point where I can’t move, but I’m just curious what could this be?

Is it from the green tea I bought lately? This tea is suppose to clear away toxins from our bodies. It is used to support the healthy function of the liver, kidneys, lungs, and blood, and to cleanse the body of toxins. It’s called ‘Detox Tea’. Instead of drinking 2 cups daily, I drink 3.

I noticed changes on my bowel movements, I keep going to the bathroom more frequently, which I think the tea is doing a good job cleaning toxins from the body, but what specifically caused this left chest pain.

Thanks in advance!

Ok, this is a bit long but it will only takes about 5 minutes of your time, I really need help on this problem, thank you! :(

I had been applying steroid cream for a long perioid, and then on and off use for 4 years, and 6 weeks ago I decided to stop using those cream because it has worsen my condition, and making my face sensitive to the sun (I guess my skin has been thinned). I vowed to myself I’m not going to use back hyrodocortisone or any steroid cream anymore. I’ve spent a fortune for this problem and been to many dermatologists and ended up transferred to a senior skin specialist dermatologist, one of the best in my area but still pretty useless. My table has a big pack of prescription creams to the point that I think I can open a pharmacy. I’ve also tried Elidel and Protopic but it didn’t help.

Anyway, lo and behold when the moment I stopped using the steroid 6 weeks ago, I suddenly had a left rash small patch appearing on around my left smile line area, and one big patch on my right. So I went cold turkey for 2 weeks and cleansed my face with only water. During that period the areas were flaking and dry, and by the end of that 2 weeks I finally washed it with a gentle soap, Cetaphil, and I realised the small patch of rash on the left side got cleared itself, but, the right big patch of rash was still, damn red, painful, peeling, and itchy. I did a research and found out that the real Aloe Vera plant might help the condition so I tried and after one application it took away the pain. But the redness, itchiness and peeling were still there. So my aunt’s friend passed me a bottle of enzymes, made out of natural ingredient and I applied it for a week, and the rash went off. Then, another one appeared around my mouth, so I applied that enzymes and it week off after a week. Then this time, a rash appeared on my right cheek and also a light rash on my right chest, so I thought this time the enzymes would help but after 5 days of applying that thing, the rash on right cheek and my chest became more, so I freaked out and stop the using the enzymes water.

I didn’t take a picture of my chest, but I took a picture of my right cheek: http://img377.imageshack.us/img377/6934/rashhy6.jpg

Then I googled and deicded to try out this cream called California Baby Calendula Cream, I read many positive reviews so I decided to give it a try.

After a week I guess it healed my condition, the rash on my chest almost disappeared and now my right cheek look like this: http://img56.imageshack.us/img56/6491/photo2339in2.jpg

BUT recently on the 24th of Dec, Christmas eve, my LEFT CHEEK gotten 2 rash that looks like "mosquito bite and kind of pimple" so I thought maybe the calendula cream would help since it healed my right cheek problem.

But after 3 days, today, the rash increased to 6 :(

My left cheek: http://img291.imageshack.us/img291/5418/photo2350ec9.jpg

By the way, I’ve been on this "detox diet" for 6 weeks already, I’ve stop eating eating meat and poultry. I only take one meal a day which consist 1 plate of brown rice, and 3 serves of spinach and broccoli, and 2 fruits. I’d take fish at most twice a week though because it has the omega 3 thing. I’ve also been drinking only water, 12 glasses a day. I used to sh*t twice a week but ever since I started out this "detox diet" I’ve been sh*tting everyday. Yes, it does help to clean my bowel and liver but I still don’t understand why am I still getting this crap on my face. But I must admit did give in to diary products during Christmas eve by eating the log cake and chocolates etc, so I suspect maybe this is why now my left cheek are having this problem. But do you think I should continue with the calendula cream?

Also, I came across this question, a lady who had the similiar condition as mine and decided to give up using steroid cream because it ain’t doing any good,

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AnnbGI7NNBKjcnvtqKfx.xHsy6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20080705070028AAU4tGm

So I sent her a message and asked whether she has found any solution to overcome the problem and this is what she replied,

http://img360.imageshack.us/img360/6144/kelsovi9.jpg

After reading her message, I suddenly remembered during the period when I gone cold turkey for 2 weeks and that first small patch of rash on my left smile line disappeared itself. I went on and replied her message to ask more questions during her cold turkey period but till now, after a week she still hasn’t reply. I guess she hardly log into her yahoo mail but I’m still praying hard for her to reply my questions. So in the mean time I decided to post my problem here and hope that you guys would give me advise on what should I do next.

Main question: Should I continue with the calendula cream OR go cold turkey again?
By the way, I came across this site with two information links about cold turkey is the best cure for effects of steroid abuse.

P.S. I’m allergic to a fragrance called Lyral so therefore I have not been putting any makeup on my face since the a flare-up I had during 2006. And this year I did IgE blood test and food allergy blood test. My IgE stated 73 IU/ML, I’ve checked with the laboratory person and he said that any number that’s under than 87 is normal. I’m also not allergic to any seafood or diary products.

P.S.S. Please don’t suggest other creams that contains Petroleum, Mineral Oil, and Paraffin because I’ve had bad experience with moisturizer cream that have all these ingredients. I found out that those ingredients actually form an oily film that sits on top of the skin, preventing moisture from evaporating. It has a drying effect, it actually suck out the moisture of your lips/skin, which is why you have to constantly reapplying it.

I do have a family Dr that I have been going too and she was really great during my pregnancy..but since then hasn’t really been answering all my questions like I’d like so she is referring me to a specialist. I’m still waiting for that apt. so until then wanted to see if anyone else has been through what I will describe or has thoughtful advice/stories/messages of hope! anything..because this has been bringing me down…

OKAY! So December 19th 2009 I had my first baby and he was practically 9lbs.
I am 5"3 and was weighing 140lbs before pregnancy…and am now weighing 155lbs.
During my labour (which took approx. 14hrs) I didn’t have any problems ..Hardly had much pain.
By the 11th hour I started to push and push and puuush! and nothing. So by the 13th hour the Dr said nope he’s not making it through there we are going to have a C section. I was really scared for some reason of having surgery (although now I regret that!!) and said there was NO way of that I’m pushing him out now! annnd I did…about 20 minutes later he came out.

They did attempt to use the suction thingy? that didn’t work.
They also tried the forceps..which they did kinda use but it was mostly me pushing.

Right after he came out they had to stitch me up to what I believe was around 10-15 stitches from Vagina to the Rectum.

What I’m now experincing is this:
-ALOT of pain when I have a bowel movement…Sometimes constipation…And it almost always re-opens my stitches
-my cliterus almost feels bruised when I have to pee really bad…And sometimes it burns
-I don’t have blood coming out anymore just a yellowish-whiteish discharge that has a horrible smell.
-I have a bath everyday with epsom salt and clean myself well and yet still the smell is really really bad!
-about a week ago I was taking a bath and cleansing myself and felt a piece of skin that was out of place…It doesn’t hurt or anything but its coming from the inside and just hanging out
-alot of dicomfort from standing for too long..the same for sitting up as well
-so far have not had sex or done excercise as I can imagine that being just way too painful as well
-also my stomach muscles are not back in place I know that can take awile but their really bad still
-and I might have a hernia

I know those are some gross deep details haha and Im sorry for randoms reading this! But I need some sort of answers as to How much longer will this go on this way approx? What did you experience that was like this and what did you do? or just any hopefuly stories like this where youve been fine after..cuz so far I feel like my vagina will never be the same and sex completely scares me now! and i dont want that to be the case..

Thanks everyone and plz waste your rude comments on stupid questions
I am also breastfeeding so don’t know if I could take much pain relief?? could I?
I know I really don’t want too while he’s feeding off me…Its not really how do I take away the pain NOW but will I be okay in the long run? Or is this going to be awhile?
Thanks for your suggestion 2010 unlike everyone else :P lol I KNOW it hurts..but anyways I did start the first month with taking stool softeners and for some reason they did nothing for me…

I also have been to my Dr and she seems concerned but doesn’t quite know what to do.

and I know usually it takes around 6-8 weeks for most women to heal but it’s been 3 months now! isnt that taking a little too long?

and still be able to work and everything? A good friend of mine, he is not an alcoholic, but over the last several weeks, about 2 months, he has been drinking with his friends a lot. This past weekend was his birthday, and he drank a lot. He called and asked me for a ride, and he was almost completely finished with his second bottle of vodka. I know he is really depressed and everything, so I guess he is drinking because of it.

Anyway, he called last night and said he didn’t feel well while he was at work. Constantly going to the bathroom, but not throwing up. His stomach hurt, and his bowels were tearing him up. He came to my house after he got off of work, and it felt like he had a fever, and he was using the bathroom again.

Could these be signs that he has poisoned his body and it is trying to cleanse itself? I think he should go to the hospital.

So for the last couple of months I have been experiencing digestion problems. At first I suffered from constipation along with excessive bloating. It eventually went away after taking natural colon cleansing pills. Everything was going fine I felt like it my stomach was slowly regulating. I started taking vitamins as well and after a week or so stopped because I felt pains in my stomach. I had never experienced any trouble with vitamins and I found them easy to take. I took them with food but after a week or I started having stomach pains and my stomach was bloated and hard. I stopped taking any kind of pill and it helped, but my stomach would still hurt and bloat up even if I hadn’t eaten. Up to now I can not take my multivitamins or any kind of pills because it bloats up the lower part of my stomach and I will experience pain and constipation. Even when I don’t take any pills I wake up with the lower part of my stomach bloated until I have a bowel movement, and depending on the size of it that’s how much the my bloating will go away. I eat healthy and don’t eat greasy foods. I went to the doctor and they told me I might have IBS but that my symptoms are a little uncommon for IBS. They gave me medication and since its pills my stomach bloats up. Can anyone help me? I feel like something else is wrong and it has to do more with my digestion and my intestines.

In former times Castor Oil was appreciated as a very efficient laxative: 2 oz Castor Oil taken orally early in the morning not having breakfasted will cleanse your bowels totally. Why has this changed?

I’ve got a bit hard inside feeling bump popped out from nowhere in no time about 2 weeks ago, my urine tests came out negative and still having normal period even less than normal.

Is it possible that full of stool in my colon can cause me a big hard bump and slight cramp for nearly 3 weeks now, even the last time I had normal stool was 2 days ago. I have had constipation, I usually pooped everyday but due to the stress and late sleeping, I guess, they made my bowel system all messed up now.

- Does big belly from full of stoll make me look like 3 months preggo?
- What is the best colon cleansing out there in the market which isn’t expensive but very effective to clear all the stool?
- When you don’t poop for days/weeks, how would you feel with your stomach? Feeling like you drink lotsss of water and uncomfortable?
- What else could cause big bloating belly WITH NO gas for 3 weeks?
- What’s the difference between preggo’s bump and problem with bowel system’s bump? I mean physically and the feeling.

After I have a bowel movement I always cleanse myself with a wet washcloth or moist paper towel Just wondering if others do this as well. If not I leave marks in my underwear.

Or if you have to, what are you most discreet about?

1. Time of the month
2. Anything relating to bowel movements/diarrhea
3. Colon cleansing
4. Gynecologist appointments
5. Waxing body parts and/or tweezing facial hair

I read years ago that men want to know as little as possible about the above. They know it goes on, but details seem to take away from the sexiness of their wife.

What about you? Any you want to add?

She seems to get bloated a lot and she doesn’t have a bowel movement everyday. And when she does, they smell abnormally bad and I’m afraid her digestive tract may be backed up.

I want to put her on a high fiber diet to get it moving.

Any suggestions on some high fiber foods I can regularly implement or any child friendly ‘digestive tract cleansing’ supplements?

Thanks!

PS. Please only give suggestions other than "bring her to the doctor"
She is already going today. But I wanted to hear some first hand knowledge/suggestions from other moms and dads as well.

Thanks!

My mother had Stage 3 Uterine Cancer, which she had a total hysterectomy and all organs were removed in October, and she finished her last chemo on April 29th, but just this week was back in hospital for partial lower bowel obstruction and fluid build up in abdomen, especially around liver.

The good thing is they drained the fluid and the obstruction was not large, but I was wondering if all this could be a way her body is trying to rid itself of toxins from radiation and chemo. She is feeling weak, so I was wondering about any good regimens for helping her to cleanse her system and detox to get stronger and get rid of the toxins?

I already found out about Milk Thistle and Dandelion for the liver, so if any other remedies are known please share!!

Thanks so much.

I have IBS and IBD (proctitis -constipation with 2-3 healthy bowel movements (BM) a week). I have not had a regular bowel moment in 4 months. I eat a high fiber diet, no caffine only water. I recently went almost 2 weeks without a BM. I took 2 Xstrength EXlax, metamucil, 2 enemas and one bottle of Fleet and nothing came out. I had xrays and it showed that I have massive constipation. I am seeing a specialist next month.

I have been on a 3 month colon cleansing system for two weeks, taking 3 240mg stool softeners per day and still nothing. I have developed lower back pain and find it hard to stand straight or lay flat. I am always hungry and no matter how much sleep I get I am always tired. I have a 4-5 gumball pellets BM every couple of days – I think there is no room for the food I eat so some has to come out. Also have rectal bleeding – no hemmoroids. I have lost a couple of pounds. Bad stomach cramps.

Any suggestions on what may be wrong or what I can do?

This is so hard for me to talk about, but I’ve been having trouble having a bowel movement for the past 5 months now. I eat incredibly healthy, stay away from fast-foods, fried foods, and junk food in general. I eat a lot of fiber to try to make myself go to the restroom more, and drink a lot of water. I’ve tried probiotic yogurt and drinks, colon cleanses, Metamucil fiber pills, i have even had to use laxatives a few times since i hadn’t had a bowel movement in around 5 days..I am now starting these new pills that are supposed to help digestion. They aren’t doing much.
Can you help me figure out what to try to aid in bowel movements, or have you heard of any of these cases before? What do you suggest?
Thank you!

Im a 28yr old guy and ive been having this problem for about 4 or 5 years. I mostly sleep around 10:30 pm and mainly because i lose my sleep around 2am if i sleep around 9pm. My problem is; everytime i wake up at down i have a ‘hunger’ pain and cramps in my tummy (like i have not eaten in a week). Saddly this happens when im not stressed and when im stressed i sleep well and i can even wake up at 9am. I went to a doctor and she suspects it might be IBS (irritable bowel syndrome). Which is not curable as yet. I tried detox tea, colon cleansing tea and deworming my system but nothing seems to work. What might be the cause? Is it normal? Someone please help coz i living my life tired everyday because of sleeplesness.

I am almost 11 weeks pregnant and I am so soo soooo constipated. I don’t know what to do. I have drank disgusting warm prune juice and white grape juice. I am eating a high fiber cereal every morning, along with two activa yogurts at lunch, and a fiber one bar as a snack. I drink ONLY water all the time, except for the juices on an empty stomach. I am not eating tons of cheeses or dairy foods. I just need to know of something I can do to help with this? I eat really heathy, organic foods and just need to know what to do to get my bowels moving.

Oh and if I can avoid it, I don’t want to take any type of safe over the counter laxative. Like Colace.

Are colonic cleanses safe? Like the ones you have done at a holistic spa/store?

Thank you

i was watching a show that said elvis had 30pds of fecal matter in him when he died. That this is not uncommon and a person should have three bowel movments a day. Whats your opinion on this?

A few years ago I had a tubal ligation, shortly after that I developed mild constipation. Now it is to the chronic stage: severe bloating/swelling and tender/hardened abdomin. It’s worse right before my period, but when it flares up it can last for up to 2 weeks before I use a colon cleansing product to give me some relief. Most of the time it feels like there is a knot/bump in my lower right side. I thought one of the triggers was eating beef, but now I don’t know. In January I had an OB/GYN go in again and see if there was something there (scar tissue or a nicked bowel from the previous surgery). Needless to say he said everything looked great. But before surgery one of the nurses asked me if I had trouble digesting proteins… I said no at first, but that question stuck with me and I think I have to answer yes now. Does anyone share something similar or know of someone who can help?

I feel the need of cleansing my colon. Reason: Chronic constipation, indigestion since last few months, obesity, heavy-feeling on waist-stomach part, slight pain in part above bowel-passing area which makes me feel as if my colon is not okay and may require some cleansing.

I exercise occassionally. I m generally a stressed out person with something piling on my personality – emotional stress or physical or job stress.

While browing thru net, I have come accross a product known as COLONIX. Pls refer to website below.

http://www.drnatura.com/colonix_program.php

I need to know if this product can be safe to us.

Or, pls suggest me some "Natural way of cleansing colon" without having to take some medication.

I want to be healthy but in a natural way. I eat lot of fruits, green veggies and normal meals. I am fond of drinking milk-tea and put two-three spoons in it each time (I drink upto 4 cups daily). I like to eat McDonalds and some junk food like chips/chocolates/cookies/cakes. But I m not addicted to these and eat these 2-3 times in a week.

But I want to know if anyone of you have ever gone thru colon cleansing and felt better. Or if you have not gone thru colon cleansing and still feel better.

All answers are welcome!

Thanks for reading and answering my query!

I am pretty sure that i am carrying undigested food because i eat alot and have infrequent bowel movements. I am pretty sure i dont have a disease (so dont say ""go see a doctor you could have…..") …is there any "cleansing products" out there…that are safe?

Could anyone give me simple natural cure for IBS (Irritable bowel syndrome). My worst symptoms are constipation, stomach gas, intestinal bloating. I have taken IBS medication, body cleansing ,Candida cleansing, diet change etc, but nothing works. Any recommendation please?
